HID lights on the GL wagon
it is almost plug and play. only you have to swap the power and ground wires around. the kit i bought has high beam and low beam, but due to the backwards wiring that subaru uses i only have the low beam hooked up right now. the kit is a 9004-2 the -2 means it is high and low beam.

HID lights on the GL wagon
the lights on my wagon suck, so i droped like $130 bucks on a set of HID lights for if. bought them from the Bay of E looked like this Before: After: picture was taken about an hour later in the same spot. so far these lights are worth their weight in gold... well almost... only problem is the way Subaru wires the head lights will not work with the high beams. but when i have more time and its not 26*F out i will find out how to get past that... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!
the center barring needed a washer under it due to the fact that it is taller. but both the GL and the WRX trany have the same output shaft size. but if i could have found another EA82 shaft i would have used that over the WRX shaft. its cheeper to have shortened due to the disigne. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!
when i did my EJ RX i used the front section, and carrier barring from the WRX clip and the rear section from the RX. the front had to be shortened but it works without a problem -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!
i am 99% sure a G intake will not work on the K heads. something about aligned "vs" non-aligned bolts into the heads. check on this before you buy it. . P.S. buy a 255l Welbro fuel pump. fits like OEM and you will have no problems with it. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com

hello everybody...
Welcome and Welcome i hope we can answer all of your questions. although we never had the 1.6l in the USA in 88 (we only had the 1.8l OHC EA82) we should be able to steer you in the right direction... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!
few things: as far as Axels go... the front will work fine as long as you have 25 spline axels. the WRX and your RX trans cases are the same width. for the rear you will need to pull the inner boot apart and use the WRX inner cup and use the RX shaft and outer cup. you have a 50/50 chance of the axel working, there are 2 different diam shafts. if you have the smaller ones they are direct fit, if you have the larger ones you will need a converson race. ( i can get you a part number) for the rad. i would never use the EA82 rad. they are crap IMO. it is not much work to get the EJ rad to fit. and you know it will work (it came with that engine) ECU: if you go compleat stand alone you will be looking for the advil more than you want. if you are getting the front clip you will have the wiring harness and the ECU. why would you go aftermarket. later if you want to be able to tune for mods, then get a Power FC. this uses your OEM harness and will have less problems than makeing your own harness. i think thats all i have for now. any questions shoot me a PM. when you get close to your swap let me know and we will talk... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

heater core ID!!!
dose anyone know what an 88 GL-10 heater core should look like? i got this one from NAPA and for some reason the pipes dont look right to me. i have awesome luck with this NAPA store getting me the right parts, a heater core is just a lot of work to find out i have the wrong one. i just want to know if anyone has had one out and can tell me if there are hoses that go from the heater core to the fire wall or if i just got the wrong core. thanks -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com

Run a Sooobie on Water? ...
i have made one of these. http://educate-yourself.org/fe/fewaterasfuel28jan02.shtml and it did indead make an explosave gas, we filled a balloon up and it did explode when a lighter was placed to it. however it took 10 mins to fill up one balloon. you would have to have have the bed of your truck filled up with cells if you wanted to run a lawn mower engine. will it ever work??? not likely... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com

My wipers are messed up...
the brains for the Int wipers is under the dash. its a little blue box with about 12 wires going into it. if this is unpluged the wipers will not work at all. the park function is part of the motor if i remember correctly. the motor has constent ign power, switched power and a ground, when you take power from the switched power, it then uses the constent power to park the wipers. i would suspect a bad motor. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

Has anyone ever had an EA82 transmission rebuilt?
if you look around not many manual tranys use 80/90 any more. quite a few FWD and some RWD tranys are going to ATF -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

finaly some real suspension for my wagon!!!
sorry i have been going thorough hell trying to get the right motors for the rear. i have taken them back and gotten a new set. but keep getting the wrong ones. i have the front motors in and working properly but not the rears. but i love the way it rides. with it on the softest setting it rides almost the same as stock, then with it on the hardest setting it corners like it is on rails. looking forward to next spring, im going to take it and do some auto-X. but i a word "AWESOME" -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

XT engine swap in GL-10 Turbo
the XT uses a serp. belt and the GL uses a V-belt. but as long as you take all the accs. this should work fine. and the wiring on the XT intake manifold is much longer than that on the GL. also check the connectors on the intake to body wiring harness. make sure they are the same, IE: both round, one round one squair, one black one white... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

EJ swap....remote start?
remote starts are very easy to install. but i would caution you not to if your wagon is a manual. if left in gear it could start and drive off on you.( <=== this = No good) but easy enough to do... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

Compresion test#'s, Up-Date
im going to guess you did you test in this order: #2, #4, #1, #3, and you did not unplug your cold start valve. as you did the test every time you turned you ign. from off to start. the cold start valve shot a little fuel into the cyl's. thus washing down the cyl. walls a bit with fuel and alowing som compression by the rings. this is why you should unplug the cold start valve. i bet if you would have checked #2 again at the end it would have been lower. you may have no problems... my thoughts, take them for what they are worth... about $0.02. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com

Look what I just bought
one of the biggest problems with the twin turbo, is no one can find a good wiring diagram for it. the twin turbo setup has a mess of solonoides and relays for the turbos to switch from one to the other. and without knowing the wiring it will be a PITA. however minus the whole turbo mess. that is a very easy swap. i have done 2 EJ20G swaps into EA cars. not bad at all. most is plug and play minus the wiring. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
