Hello soon here my 1993 impreza is gonna get a new timing belt, i think it still has the one it came with but I was just curious if there are any "performance" belts and if so where can I get them. In the brochure I got it has an STi timing belt but thats only for the newer WRX models and I was also wondering if it was worth spending the extra money on one or should I just get the basic OEM

a rebuild isnt that much more trouble serious? cause my EJ18 impreza needs some new seals and timing belt replacing "Roos Only" will do it both for about 500-600$ but thats alot of money if I can save by doing myself please tell me what is needed and how much I will save time money and skin

Yah I got the oil pan off the imreza at the junk yard with a little bit of a struggle bent the dip stick tube but when I brought it home I couldnt get it off my car cause I couldnt raise the engine at all with my lil jack and couldnt find a good spot to place the jack so I had to take it to ROOS ONLY here in denver they did it for $130 which im glad I didnt try to do it cause I gues auto zone sold me the wrong gasket but shes all better now cept a few cosmetic things need to be put back in place

thanks that actually helps me out alot since I dont have a dremel tool guess Ill have to raise the engine with a jack which seems like it should work so all I have to remove is the bolts at the bottom? and put a jack underneath and it will raise without bringing the car up with it?

well my oil pan is smashed and I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to replace it on my 93 subaru impreza L its seems like an easy thing to do but I cant get to the 4 screws in in the back of the pan with out removing the engine anyone here know an easy way to get to them or any tricks PLEASE HELP im with out a car till it gets fixxed

dont quote me on this and please correct me right away If I am wrong but I believe an "interference" engine will seize and lock if the timing belt breaks as apposed to a "non-intereference" which wont, other than that I dont know

Hey my ej18 from my 93 impreza has got 240+ miles on in 20k of those miles are from me being kinda hard on it (with proper oil changings) now my oil leaks I was wondering how much $$ and time would it take to replace all the oil main seals or would it be better just to buy a 2.0 or 2.2 engine? any opinions or suggestions very welcome

the thing is if I get those blizzaks then ill have to swap rims ever day just about cause one day the roads will be snowy and the next dry as a bone and hot if I lived in the mountains it would be fine and about the studded they are alowed here but I heard they dont help much kind of a waste of money

I would think it woudl be pretty easy if you used the 2.2 ecu intake and exhaust thats what im plannin on doin with my preza which is a 93 is the AWD system controled by the ECU though?

How much trouble would it be on my 93 impreza L (sedan) to change the rear drums to discs?
