  1. well I know you probably need a new ignition for your airbags and those are quite expensive for my brothers ford aspire the whole things cost was 3000 for the ignition and bag and set up most of the time when airbags go off the car is considered "totaled" if you are going through an insurance company

  4. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/570492/4 I was backing out of my garage one day and stupidly was only looking back to avoid hitting the loyale I turn right into the wall of my garage! and I didnt think the garage paint matched my cars so it needed to be fixed if it starts to chip and that I guess Ill fork over the $90 for a new fender and get it proffessionaly done but for now I think its good even though the color is a lil off DAMN DUPLI!

I fixxed my problem for some reason I had anti freeze in spark plug 1 wich scared me at first cause I know thats a sign of something broken but there was no antifreeze in spark plug 3 which is right next to it and some reason when the engine heated it it caused that cylander not to fire im sure and i am hoping that the reason the antifreeze got there is because when I first brought the car home we put an older cap on the radiator which wasnt a tight fit and it sprayed coolent all over so Im guessing it got down inside that one but I pulled it and cleaned it out so if it returns then I know I got a bigger problem
  7. do the 98s have Disc or Drum breaks in the rear? if its drum I believe it being corroded is no problem unless its also on the inside but that shouldnt happen if you use your breaks as for the chug it may be some part of the suspension Im not an expert but thats just what i know it might help and might not

I think I am having a similiar problem I have posted about this a couple times but havent gotten any thing yet the only difference is I dont seem t obe backfiring and I got a 93 impreza......but I notice it runs fine with the engine is cool but once it reaches its normal running temp thats when I start having problems similiar to that

I gave more info in another post just didnt feel like typing it all umm its an ej18 from a 94 wagon and now it is in a 93 sedan the sedan sat for about a year or 2 with very little gas in it so I thought cleaning everything with sea foam should work but it didnt or hasnt yet thought maybe flushing the radiator would change it cause i noticed it didnt do it when the engine was cold only when it got up to normal temps a friend thought maybe its cause my gas was getting to hot but I dont see how that could happen I do not know what more info you need but Ill answer any questions you got about it
  10. umm yah ima newbie whats airlocking?! cause after I did my engine swap my engine doesnt run right once it warms up it loses power then gets it back then loses its quite odd I thought maybe something in the coolent system was cracked or leaking but cant find any clues was thinking it was a fuel problem but I used that seafoam stuff but that didnt make a difference could this be caused by airlocking?
  11. Yah out of instinct that is the first thing I did heh its pretty tight no movement now it doesnt make noise on turns as much but sometimes it does when im goin straight not all the time and mostly at low speeds

Yah I hsould go back to using searches I just grew lazy over time the CV joints are intact and all but when I did the engine swap for some reason the right side came out of the transaxle we made sure not to contaminate the greese at all when putting the berrings back in place lost some greese but there was still alot in there it seemed and I dont think the CV joint is the right part im thinking but it it connects the same way except to the transaxle and we used hose clamps instead of the normal clamps to clamp the boot back down I dont know if that changes anything I also hope you understood all that up there I also noticed when the wheel drops like goin over the dip into my circle it now makes the noise

On my 93 sedan there is a noise when I turn comming from my right wheel like a knocking noise only does it at certain speeds and on turns but not on turns from a stop but like a long turn on a winding road it was doing that on my left but i guess the lug nuts were just lose (i dont know who or why they were loose) but yah I tightened them and it stopped but last week I noticed my right side started but they arent loose can somone help me out on this?
  14. well I know what its like when im low cause it freaked me out when I had my wagon and I took a turn and I lost half my power also when I was low it would cut out after 3k RPM as a lil warning but tihs isnt like that I get ver poor power then all of a sudden I get full power (I joke with my friends telling htem its my turbo) so I dont think its low on gas but I am gonna get that Sea Foam stuff and see if that works

I certainly hope the shaft isnt damaged, what happened was I had a 94 wagon and I took it mudding usually it does really well but this time the rear wheel or something hit a rock and pushed me off to the side which it then got high centered got it stuck had to leave it till I could get it towed but when I came back I see that somone decided to drive up on top of it so im guessing thats what caused it to get bent cause they also ripped my radiator apart so I took that motor and put it in the impreza I got now cause it had no heart

Hello I got a problem with my impreza which I just did a motor swap on YAY (and the peasents rejoice) anyways on my way home from driving it I filled it up from Shell and then drove it home about 60 miles maybe but as the tank got lower about below 1/4 the power to my engine fluctuated? it would be good then it would kinda drop then good and drop not always in uniform but kindof randomlike I was told by a friend who went to DADC temporarily that it might be the fuel pump but I dont know I know it has something to do with the fuel I was also thinking it could be cause im mixing 2yr old gas with new gas (the car with the tank sat for like 2 yrs or something like that) but it was pretty empty or it could be residue from the gas sitting in the lines I dont know Im no expert pretty much a beginner ahh ive gone on long enough about that now to my next thing The pully for my power steering WOBBLES! and it set my belt offcoarse I put the belt back on but it just squeels then goes back now it wore some of my belt away I was wondering if it was easy to replace the belt and pully and maybe you could tell me where to get a good pully or maybe good belts unless they are all pretty much the same anyways thats all for now hopefully you guys will be able to help me out or if not show me somewhere I can get some help (if you understood my post I know I can ramble)

  19. dont let your wife treat you like that all cars get a lil mess around the terminals when they are that old anyways yah the loyal is getting no charge to the coil so its either a fuse or bad coil maybe? RallyJusty checked the fuses when he came to pick up my Impreza couldnt find a bad one at all so this means a bad coil?
  20. isnt the timing belt visible from the outside but yah Ill go check the cap right now
