  1. Aren't the new belts and timing components rated for 105 though?
  2. Do you have this type of key button Or this type The former will have a really annoying siren, that's probably disconnected on your car. And turning the ignition on and off WILL NOT make the flashing lights stop. The latter will just honk the horn and turning the ignition on and off 5 times will make it stop.
  3. Not only do they fit perfectly, they look awesome!
  4. It's always the simple stuff that gets you. Sometimes it's too obvious to be a probably cause .... Gotta love easy fixes.
  5. On slow roads I've been leaving it in 3rd, otherwise it's just way annoying. Yes, I do need to do some flushes, it might help the torque bind too. Is it bad for the tranny to shift down through the gears when I'm coming to a stop to engine brake like I do on MTs? I've never had an auto before....
  6. The TPS is fine, checked it with my scangauge and it operates properly. It's probably working just fine, and I don't like the auto tranny....
  7. Is there any way to make the auto tranny stay in gear? It's annoying the crap out of me. Say I'm driving along at 2.5k RPMs and just want to accelerate a little bit. It doesn't need to downshift and rev up like it's going to take off. In a manual I wouldn't downshift just to accelerate a little bit. Why can't it just hold in whatever gear it's in? The tranny shifts and works just fine (how it was designed to work...) I just wish it would work more sensibly. Maybe the only fix is for the weather to hurry up and get warm so I can do a 5mt swap... EDIT: 98 GT
  8. Glad to see GD saved another one, and your car is back on the road.
  9. I like your creative spelling of engage... just sayin'...
  10. I had faith that my loyal little subaru would heal it's front axle on it's own, but it broke
  11. Looks good! I like the center caps being silver on the black wheels. Makes it look like a cop car. haha
  12. It's good that a flush fixed your power steering issue... Be glad it wasn't a transmission issue.
  13. You have to swap the diff. Maybe you're thinking about a GL, but with an AWD transmission you can't just pull out the drive shaft!! You'll destroy the transmission. You can't pull axles or anything either. You have two options... Get a transmission that matches the rear diff ,or get a rear diff that matches your new tranny.
  14. I like hydro clutches better. They seem to engage more smoothly.
  15. The 96 Legacy and Impreza had cables, and I've seen some 97 cars with, and some without. So it seems 97 was the transition year.
  16. I wish I had a pic of pulling the engine out of my friend's chevy... We did it at his house and didn't have a garage. I used 4x4s to make a frame type deal over the front of the car all tied together with rope. Hauled that sucker right out.
  17. I bought a Legacy with a blown engine and had it running within three days of getting it home...
  18. ECS, East Coast Swappers is in Mass I think. They do suby coversions.
  19. Get one with a blown engine and do a swap. Makes for nice cheap cars!
  20. I had two belts replaced completely free last year under warranty on different cars. And will probably do it sometime soon on my LGT. It's a great program. I highly suggest it.
  21. That sucks so much I'm so sorry to see your soob squished up like that. Just terrible :( I'm glad you're fine, and hope you find another one in good time.
  22. Sold my 96 Legacy and bought a broke 98 with 226k miles. After an engine swap it runs pretty nice. Sweet little car.
