hmm. like the case i might not be able to close my hood!?? or fit between the frame rails? are we both looking at it differently? IE.. from the block outward or vertically as we stand in front of it.

i think that was just a typo on my end, i need an xt6 or ea flywheel. i did however re-read the swap manual. but yeah that was one of my questions, regarding the width of the engines. i'll have to do some measuring to make sure it'll fit widthwise

thanks for the input, my trans has about 215k on it, but it doesnt have any issues besides the shifter bushings are worn a bit. i think i'll go with it, and if it craps out a year after wards, then i'll investigate the EJ 5 spd. sucks we dont have a EJ DR in the states! damn aussies!

great to hear a positive response. LOL. if i were to do an manual EJ trans, would there be any thing to wire up for the awd electrically? i havent ever had a ej with a manual trans. right now its lookin like the standard ej swap is what i'll do with the ej25. i can accumulate the parts over time, and once i get the wiring harness out i can start working on that in my spare time, i have the 2k Legacy manual printed out so i'll know what wires are what pretty clearly.

would i be better off findin a manual ej trans and swapping that in along with all the driveshaft, axle, and or knuckle fun? i obviously have to do more research on teh ej swap itself as it probably shows, but just looking for caveats of swapping in a ej25 mainly.

Hi Everyone... so we just had our 00 outback totalled, and i bought the car back at salvage value to retrieve the engine we had just put in about year and a half ago. or maybe it was 2 yrs, whatever. anyways.. I was going to look into doin the EJ swap with the ej251, however i cant find any info on the swap with a ej25. i figured it would be worth a shot since i have the motor, wiring, and ecu for free (well. technically $800, but as far as im concerned, it was free) my car is a 92 loyale w/ a 4wd dual range. anyone have any thoughts or advise regarding this EJ swap? please dont riddle with "ej25 sucks" etc. its a good SOHC EJ25 with about 90k on it. few questions i had thought of.. -tranny handle the added torque? -engine size vs the ej22? they have the same stroke, so i would expect the 2 engines to be very close if not the same size. things i know i need to get.. EJ adapter plate, ea/xt6 flywheel, machined, xt6 pressure plate slim radiator fan etc Blah blah, stuff listed in ej swap pdf and read it.. again... and again.. thoughts? any input (besides "ej25 sucks!" appreciated.

Alot of times the timing belt and waterpumps are done at the same time since its the same process to go thru up to changing the pump and or belt. So you might have a newer water pump too. at 200k i would hope they'd do that anyways. whats the problem with the trans? i dont hear too often a manual trans goin bad on these. I just put a manual trans in my car last year and it had 212k on it! LOL. -
i priced out grabbers a few months ago. the price at discounttiredirect.com was higher than tirerack.com, but i called them up and asked about them about beating their price. not only did he beat it, but for the same price i got 4 replacement certificates with the purchase (Kickin myself i didnt get a 5th wheel.. hope i dont need a spare! LOL!) at the time it was like $445 shipped from tirerack, got them from discount with the certificates for like $435. of course, i have a HF tire mounter so mounting wasnt a problem my guy on the corner can balance the tires for $5/ea.

damn man, im amazed at the ************ you come up with! today we dropped the subie (wifes 2k Outback) off at Abra to have some surgery. got tboned last week and the rear driver door is totally F'd. i was hopin. they'll call with the estimate in the AM. there seems to be alteast somewhat of some possible structural damage on the upright where the door hinges are. im keepin my fingers crossed that it is deemed totalled. car needs a new front dif or something. been gay for the last year and a half on and off. here's the goods.

Hey Tom, whys it throw an 02 code? was there no BUNG in the header for the o2 sensor? could trick it with a resistor , i'll have to look it up again but i think a 330 ohm is whats used. i have a ************ ton of resistors at home. yes, an actual ************ ton. could eliminate that CEL so if there is a real cel code comes up it could be investigated. damn obdII!!!!

what i've done lately.... parked my car in subzero temps for a good 18 hrs. started it up, needed a little help with a pump of the gas pedal.. the drivers door, drivers rear door, and rear door all were frozen open, the oil was pretty thick at that temp and it took a bit to build up oil pressure, at first i though the oil pump was frozen. lol. LOL Toms (theloyale) car isnt outta gas, the gas gauge just doesnt work. i hit about 85 in the ea82, hit the speed governer in my ford probe (111mph), and hit about 110 in aMazda RX-8 by the end of an onramp with the dealers sales guy in the car. LOL! he freaked out a little bit, but it was smooth enough that he didnt notice until i mentioned it.

LOL @ Fox' van Damme comment. haha! good stuff. Damn, you aint kiddin bout Kamikaze's i havent had one of them in like 10 yrs, used to go to this place with a $5 cover, but youd get a free kamikaze on hte way in, and then you'd get diarhea on the way out from all the sugar in there. come to think of it.. the toilets were usually overflowing with piss, but the music was good and loud. the girls liked to dance next to the subwoofers.
