  1. +1 for early impreza and primitive rally school, its well worth it. I usually sleep in my car in the field behind the hotel for free, cops havent givin me any grief so far
  2. Weather http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/USWA0130 Looks like it will be nice for the cruise. And for the early birds their might be some showers but they are always hit and miss. Could be pouring on the south side of town and still sunny on the north. My advise for those who are camping is be prepared for the worst but hope for the best. Try to stay dry and warm, bring an extra jacket just in case, it still gets cold at night. And most of all it is Eburg, so bring a wind breaker -Andy

  5. Here is a map to the camping spot http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Ellensburg,+WA&daddr=Forest+Service+Rd+3500&hl=en&geocode=FSIczQId-ZXQ-CkxjjqyMvKZVDEXCcBMYduw-A;FaAY0AIdpwDQ-A&mra=ls&sll=47.192279,-120.586023&sspn=0.016448,0.038581&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=11 And if anyone needs anything for the weekend you can call or text me at (253)-381-6539. Im debating on weather i will be staying the night up at the camping spot or at my house but either way ill be in town all weekend so feel free to get a hold of me at anytime! -Andy
  6. That sucks man sorry you cant make it' date=' better get it fixed up for WCSS though! And as Twitch said one more week! Schedule will still go as it says in the original post. Only thing im adding is location for start and finish of the cruse and show spot. I figure a good spot would be the parking lot for CWU closest to University Way accross the street from the Campus U-tote-em. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=&daddr=47.001208,-120.535839&hl=en&geocode=&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=18&sll=47.001194,-120.535528&sspn=0.00206,0.004823&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=18 Its a large parking lot and is always empty on weekends because everyone goes home to the westside we will gather in the back corner. I think that covers everything, if you are going to be in town earlier (like Twitch plans to) and you want help finding the camping spot just let me know and i can show you the way. -Andy
  7. Hey thanks, they are stock toyota 15 inch wheels.

    -Andy

  8. Haha yea should be fun, only down side is one wheel will be spinning most of the time instead of two Oh and ill probably come over thursday around 5 to chop up that wagon or get started on the next one. -Andy
  9. Well besides havin a little fun offroad out by Bill's the other week not much has happened until tonight. The other day on the way home from Leavenworth i had massive vibrations while accelerating (front axles are close to gone). And then i got pulled over for a brake light that when out, cop didnt even ask me for papers cuz the fumes of burning oil made him nauseous and he wanted to leave anyways So tonight i replaced the brake light bulb and got to work taking off the axles. Being my first time taking off axles it took a few minutes for the first one, but the second was off in 5. Then i got out the BFH and separated the axle and the outer stub and but it back in. Now im RWD till i get some new axles. I love how these older subies are so easy to keep running -Andy
  10. Bumpin this back up Only a few more weeks to go
  11. Great stuff today That was lots of fun, im amazed at how well my Brat does at stock height. Cant wait to see how it does with more clearance And i cant wait to see the beast with a solid rear axel. if you start getting too far ahead on the trails i might have to go that route too
  12. Nice man, lets just hope i dont toast my clutch sunday eh
  13. yea ive adjusted the cable and it fixed the problem for a few days, then it came back and ive tried adjusting again with no luck. Ive done some searching around the forum and found hints toward just replacing the cable or do another clutch job. Clutch job isnt worth it again for this trans, so ill swap to 5 speed. But in the mean time i might try a new cable and see if it helps. either way im swapping when i get the money -Andy
  14. Well i wont be needing a welded diff for a bit, more like a new transmission Not that anything is broken, but the stock trans is just giving me too many headaches. Seems to be slipping in all gears now when i get on the gas, and its always been hard to shift, especially getting into reverse . Its time for a 5 speed id say, was going to go that way eventually anyway but it just got bumped up on the to do list. Hopefuly ill get a new job soon, or if anyone wants to buy some lead let me know i got my grandpas sailboat to unload and sell a lot of lead ballast so that should bring in some cash. Then ill be able to affoard a trans swap, lift, tires and maybe some other goodies to get me goin again but till then ill lay off on the wheelin, i need to keep it in ok shape to get around town i went out last night again and managed to get water inside the cab and not get stuck -Andy
  15. lkindred, Pooparu, Sorry to hear that you guys cant make it. Thanks for your interest and support and i hope to see you guys next year and/or at WCSS 12 -Andy
  16. I see where your coming from, the northwest does have significantly more to offer than other places. The only reason i wheel a Brat is because its what i got, and i like the look of lifted brats Its obvious that the best subaru to turn into a wheeler is a hatch. Your hatch project is looking awesome btw, cant wait to see how it turns out -Andy
  17. oh yea i remember now, i think i waved back. ive had a lot of people waving and yelling since i got it dirty and as far as the duct tape seats, the plan is to get new seats eventually so its just a temp fix. if i find some seat covers i will throw those on. its just a wheeler rig so as long as i can sit on it i dont care much oh and Bill, you still wanna weld my diff? Or at least go hit some local trails sometime? Anyone wanna hit some trails on the eastside? -Andy
  18. I remember what looked like a newer blue yota with a skid plate up front, and the driver yelled something. That you? Thanks, found a little mud up manastash by the observatory. -Andy
  19. as long as no one objects i dont see why not
  20. i would have thought opposite, i see more brats than hatches, but maybe because im not looking for them i see your points though, a brat would take more mods to get up to par with a hatch but i do agree with scott, i dont mind beatin up my brat, if anything ill pick up another one and make it a street car/garage queen. sti swap maybe? -Andy
  21. if your looking for light weight why not a BRAT? there isnt much there to begin with and if you really want to shed weight then chop pretty much everything behind the cab. At least maybe the walls to make it a flatbed. Approach angle isnt bad either with a little trimming and a tucked up bumper. And to make better departure angle bob the tail. lift it up 6 to 8 inches, get some meaty tires (27s? 33s? i dont know, bigger better or not?), throw in an EJ engine, 5speed dr trans and whatever gears diff and what not that works best and i think you got yourself an awesome wheeler but if you dont have money to spend on all the newer EJ stuff (like me) then id say cut as much weight as possible, tune up the ea81 (weber, torque grind, ect..), get a 5speed dr from the yard, weld the rear, set up dual ebrake for the front, lift it and get as much time on the trails as possible. i always believe there is no mod better than driving skill. thats my plan for my BRAT, we will see how it turns out eventually -Andy
  22. Well ive been out to the hills three times this last week and havent been stopped yet but i also havent been able to head to tougher trails because of the snow and my buddy can make it through. today i was kinda board so i did some preventative maintenance (i.e. got ready for deeper water) stripped the interior to clean it up a bit and ditch the carpet so if i do get wet inside its already gone. eventually i will either put diamond plate down or truck bed liner. also made my seat a little nicer easier to clean this way and covers up the rips. it will be all orange after i buy more tape Ive seen a nice looking red ea82ish wagon with a fabbed up bumper the last few times i went up manastash road. anyone from on here? -Andy
