  1. I jsut got it today. I dont event think Im going to upgrade the heat exchanger. Now off to find a pump and reservior.... btw...this thing is AWESOME.
  2. bump. is there anyother way to convert the rear, or are we perminatly stuck with finding 4WD XT6 rear hub assy?
  3. that translates into: get a two row radiator from radiators.com.
  4. heck yes. I'll NOT be using anything EA81/82 pistons...unless its the stock 'gen 3' turbo pistons. My thoughts are on those head studs. The bolt pattern is the same. I need to pull some studs out and see if the threads and such are the same as the EA82 (which me thinks they are) and make sure the length is sufficient for the EA82 heads...
  5. how tough are they? I will be installing a front and center LSD into my RX box in the next week(s) and from there....I'll be doing non-stop full on boost launches with it (antilag+launch control).... So far, ive done about 50 launches similar to that with no ill effects as of yet.... so, how long will it last?
  6. USA was the only country to get ONLY 4wd brats....other countries got 2wd versions...could have been a 5spd brat overseas somewhere...
  7. the head studs in the block...
  8. hey guys, I'm wanting some pics of EA81's with out heads on it.... anyone got any?
  9. ok....so....how do i properly remove a busted one (thats still very intact...just all cracked up in like 1090759872563409 places) and prep it for a new one....? and all those other tihngs you learned...?
  10. well, two of them are beyond messed up a little...
  11. at low speeds...aka autox...air/water is the unit of choice. At track or higher speeds, aka average speed of over 90 MPH...large air to air and LARGE turbos are the choice. At med speeds...its really all about your setup...some are better than others...WRC cars still use air to air units.
  12. the ROT doesnt count AND you siad that you broke the 88's... :-p
  13. Make sure to use a deep well socket for the nuts on the control arms, and a 6 point wrench to hold the 1/2 height bolt heads.
  14. i would have prefered the SUBARU unit. These came on the Celica ST165's...aka All-Trac that we got here in the states and elsewhere.
  15. so....since we've got 3 RX's in Atlanta...all with damaged WS's....and only one of them is good enough to pass a state inspection...I figure its time to see about getting some.... so what do you guys recommend...? Mine is so bad you CANNOT drive it at all...so, id have to have someone come out to install...got a quote online, and it was $150 for jsut the glass..about $240 for glass+molding (what modling is this?!?!) and it was $306 installed on site.... any of you guys have any recommendations?
  16. ebay is cool. $90 shipped. Comes with the core...no lines or anything else. I might go with a different core...but the intercooler its self is that main part that I wanted.
  17. That would be the leading rob bushings. SuperPro offers a set of poly bushings....but they have to be made and its about a 1~1.5 month wati for those...they are not that expensive...search for my previous threads and you'll find a price. OE SUBARU ones will likely last another 100k+ in a 'normal' climate...more so in a wet-no salt climate. The hot dry or salty areas eat them up and dry them out more so than other areas. A low mileage takeoff from a car in the area would fix the problem for now. R&I of the arm is easy. 1 nut on the rod, then two nuts/bolts on the control arm holding the rod on.
  18. wow...thats ALL you posted? Thats lame.... comeon! I give like a 12 page report on just 4 autox runs on a sunday! you did 100+miles of track....thats like....never been done with an RX before...besides Marnix.
  19. I ran a 9.5:1 shortblock under the stock turbo stuff...stock turbo manifold, heads...turbo, boost etc.. etc...for 24k miles. nothing speciall....jsut crazy low eng and mid range. top end was nothing due to no timing control and crappy fuel system.
  20. My old RX, the 1988 one...the one Pleiades had before me...which is now owned by JWX....survived the track day at Roebling in Georgia! Most importantly, my experimental engine from MY RX survived 100+ miles of HOT 100% all out track time. JWX...fill us in...since my RX is t3h b0rk3d and I could not make it...
