  1. BIG and HUGE thanks to Jason Porter for NOT ordering our stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jason Porter NO LONGER WORKS FOR TOP SPEED. The new guy here, Tray, and I sat down and we ordered the stuff ourselves. We expect delivery, HERE, at Top Speed, in 3~4 weeks. Sorry about the delay, I'll make sure that the prices are rock bottom low since we had to go thru this hassle.
  2. yeah...in order of shortest to longest SPRINGS... Xt 2wd, 3 door, sedan, wagon...wagon 4wd. weakest is XT2wd. Strongest is Wagon 4wd.
  3. One dot up...one dot down...center of the 3....done in 5 mins flat.
  4. Id love to do it...but I cant cut keys anymore. I CAN see about getting your actual key code tho. PM me.
  5. Yep. I took all of them and compared. XT is tallest. 2WD is next. Then 4WD.
  6. Well, ive decided what I am going to do with the RX. I've aquired a 1987 GL-10 Sedan...the oddball one with 2WD 3AT, SPFI...but all the other GL-10 goodies...and it happens to be white. I'll use the front clip from the sedan to fix the RX. JWX and I are sharing my old 89 RX for little parts here and there...so Ive got a spare fender...or 3 laying around... I will be using the RX for SCCA Solo2 competition (autocross)...after looking at the costs of the classes I could run in...Stock(H-Stock), Street Prepared(F-Street Prepared), E-Modified, F-Prepared, Street Touring Xtream (STX)...and the ultimate street car class, Street Modified (where I have run the car ever since I got it)...the only 4 classes which would be remotely affordable would be Stock, STX, FSP and SM. However...the car will never be competitive nationally in Stock or STX...so that leaves SM and FSP. in SM I can do anything I want with the engine and drivetrain as long as the block is of SUBARU origin. JDM EJ swaps and what not are legal...6spd Prodrive transmissions from a WRC car...good to go. Anti-Lag and Launch control? OK too. shove 335/35/17 race rubber under it with STi brembo brakes? Ok too...bodywork to accomodate those rubbers? OK! Cost? atleast $15,000...at the minimum. Min weight for the class is 2600 lbs for AWD+TURBO. Civic's with engine swaps...N/A with over 200 hp, front LSD and teeny 13 inch rubbers weighing in at the min for FWD-N/A, 1800 lbs...means no matter what I have alot to compete with. Right now the class dominatiors are the 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight....2200 lbs of RWD German engineering with 450+ crank HP....with active suspenion being legal in the class...its only a matter of time before the top contenders start using it and then the budget skyrockets. So...FSP. Stock engine, stock turbo, stock boost control...stock interior...most suspension, all of the industion system (leave the stock turbo and boost levels alone) and exhaust system is free. What am I up against? 1800-2200 lb Rabbits and Civics on 13x9 rims most of the time...those are the class dominators. All FWD and N/A. they *might* have 120 hp at the wheels...I've got 105hp/135tq to ALL 4 WHEELS. That and in SP you can do whatever to differentials. can you say...Front LSD, and STi 12kg center? I can. I talked to several people about the car already...several of them trophy winners at Nationals, and a few National champion...after seeing the car in action with what little I have done to it...they seem to think that when prepped to the max for FSP, it will be quite a car to contend with. So...now I need to go find my stock turbo...done...and a TWE downpipe...damn, I sold mine! Oh well, i know where some are. Anyhow...so....got my stock hood back...and the boost controller is gone...and the boost control is to 'stock' as per 1986 specs...as update/backdate rules specify. As soon as I get the sedan to the shop, the operating shall commence, and the RX will be alive again.
  7. *right click...save picture as...* I hope to someday buy up some JDM RX's and ship then over here...
  8. AWD 5spd from a phase 2 EJ engine...aka its 1998 or newer.
  9. 2WD rears are taller than 4WD. 4WD rears from any sedan/wagon/coupe are shortest. XT's ofcourse are the tallest of all of them.
  10. the one on the radiator for the fans is set to 225...thats ALL subarus. SUBARU offered only a 192 T-stat for engine coolant.
  11. So we finally got Templar's WRX up and running...after much delay on transmission parts and some issues with electrical system grounding and all that good stuff.... The car has an AEM in it...and its setup to do Anti-Lag with launch control....along with flat shifting. Anti-Lag is THE fun. I am DEFINALTY building a turbo and exhaust system to handle antilag.
  12. well...they were at 50...and the other 8 tires were 4x140mm rims wth 13 inch tires on it.
  13. sweet. another outback with the "JDM" Legacy RS wheels. Yes yes...i know they are US spec wheels...hahaha.
  14. yeah...the EJ25D is terrible! it always blows headgaskets! hahahaha...its just 150 miles away from the 200k mark now. After i get my RX back up and running...I will re-ring it and install the thinner EJ257 headgaskets...that should get me some of that lost HP/TQ back.
  15. yeah, use some good water/weather/heat proof grease on the channels and keep the pads able to move around and on the caliper so it can float like it was designed to do.
  16. ...on my 1996 Outback wagon, 4EAT AWD....its sitting at 199804 right now. I have no clue when ANY maintenance items were performed on it...its been kicked around my family since 148k....its perminatly mine as of 193k...and its had its regular oil and ATF changes...coolant temp sensor...thats it. Ive got a timing belt for it...so it would be time for that I would think...and might as well do the tensioner as well. There are no oil leaks, and I run Motul 5w30 8100 100% synthetic oil in it. Oil change due soon... its list of other needs are...knock sensor, guage coolant temp sender, an alignment, re-ring and thin head gaskets (no leaks! but burns some oil and is down on power), an exhaust and a drop in filter. Wondering what else I should look out for on this...from what I gather, its still an all original engine, never been opened up except for (I hope) normal service items....
  17. that because....well, you know t3h answer! SRT4 is FAST4R!
  18. JWX and I went to go feed our old skool lust and purchased a-many-a EA series parts. These parts were 6 hours away... Vehicle: 1996 Outback wagon, 4EAT AWD+199000 miles. Parts to grab: 1 complete EA82T engine assy 1 complete EA81 engine assy 1 3AT 4WD tranny 1 5spd WRX tranny 1 5spd D/R FT4WD tranny 1 LSD 1 driveshaft 8 wheels WITH tires mounted 2 sedan tailight assy 2 sway bars 2 sedan door trim panels xx misc stuff ALL of it fit inside the Outback with PLENTY of comfortable riding room for the 7 hour trip back...as we made a little detour. I was quite pleased...and VERY impressed. I had fit some serious stuff in there...but the place where we picked everything up...we had everything in it but the wheels...3 of them said we better get some rope and tie them down on the roof rack. I said "I envision all 8 of these things fitting inside..." and even I was not 100% sure they would fit...and they did. I wish I'd had my digicam...was quite a site. The Michelin tires held up perfectly to being overloaded by 300 lbs each and over inflated +10 psi. Sag? Yep. STi struts helped in keeping the Outback stable over bumps and other road inperfections.
