if the WRX one works good, I'll be getting a WRX hub adapter for use with this wheel. -

Same place it was. The center. There is a horn button there. I couldnt get my steering wheel off...so I am giving PB blaster a chance to do its magic and maybe loosen it for me...lol...it just wont come off the splines, the nut and all is off tho. So...hopefully in the morning it will come off and I will see about this WRX one I have fitting. -

that and its 320MM instead of 350. DAMNIT. I wanted t3h smallAr one. -
the stock front struts are no good for autox. THey are just too tall. They ar about 1.5 to 2 inches taller. You can swap in 2wd front struts to get the hieght down and being the camber close to zero....however, that it out of Stock rules...as it only allows a 1 inch difference. You cant touch the springs in Stock class obviously... The springs will work, I am 100% positive, as I have done this before, and I am actually running similar springs already in the rear. There are no adjustments to the EA82 subies for camber/castor....none at all. Installing camber/caster plates in place of the stock top mounts gives you adjustability. I have done so. I have an 87 RX, and from 87 to 98 they had the Full Time 4WD trans standard in them...so its FT4WD at all times.

DONT TORCH OR CUT THE SPRINGS. Get these, they are FSP legal: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7956214923&category=33582 I just got a set. the 215's fit just fine on the stock rims.

5 seconds after I put the pedal to the metal....ignition and or fuel cuts off for literally 1/4 of a second then right back on.

I have been informed that any given impreza/legacy steering hub adapter will work on an EA82 car. I am going to try this tomorrow. anyone else have stuff laying around and want to give that a whirl? I got this a day or two ago: Going on the RX soon.

I FINALLY spun the RX on an autox course! I also kicked some WRX/STi butt! It was a test and tune, so no results to find...but I did get top 5 times overall, and there was alot of fast stuff there with R tires. Came within 0.0xx of beating an ESP STi on victoracers with a good driver piloting it, and beat the Street Mod sti (same class as I) that had falkens and abunch of other go fast bits (suspension, TBE, etc etc...) So, the RX and driver is getting faster...tweaking here, tweaking there...an "oh, I can do this with the car and I can go faster" there, and a "oh, thats how's done" here, and I am slowly closing the gap to Pleaides in his RS...he set FTD and FTP (fastest time of the day, raw time, and FT Pax), and he runs in DSP, and its a mildly prepared car. Full suspension, exhaust, intake, and R compund tires...rest is stock. Only 2 seconds behind that time, where as at the last event the gap was 3.2 seconds. Ive got some ebay coilovers to play with now, and a new steering wheel coming..which reminds me, new topic on that.

both have 92MM bore. anyone want to grab some WRX pistons/pins/rods and see about them fitting in the EA82 and get some measurements comparing pistons? All my EJ205 sources are gone.
-
After gounding and honeycombing the intake....still not gone....still does it. Arg....anyone got a spare early 87 turbo/MPFI ECU i could get for cheap/nothing/trade for parts? And...anyone got any more ideas on what it could be?
-
Anyone have a souce for some that are about 10~15MM longer with the same 12MMx1.25 pitch? I am looking around and not finding much....
-
Ok..on my RX...right front is where it seems to come from.. Upon turning right at speed...I hear a grinding/roaring sound....go stright...and its just a dull grinding...turn left, and it turns into a....higher pitched "tire whine" type sound. I am thinking wheel bearing....how to tell if it is that? Its not loose up int he air, and doesnt make noice when turned by hand unlike that 2.5 RS i had a LR WB go out on... Could the axle nut have backed off a tad? ANy other ideas? No, the wheel is on tight...LOL...i checked that already.
-
They are identical according to my parts catalog.
-
I need some 5MM or 10MM wheel spacers for the RX. Where can I find a set for under $20 for all 4 corners? Yes yes...I am working on finding some longer wheel botl studs...15MM longer too.

Tears came to my eyes this morning....
WJM replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I just.....*sigh*.........that.....I.....i dont know....somehow I am glad my wagon is not driveable at this time, because I imagine that I would not drive it for a couple of days for fear of it getting wiped out....and its "safe" at home where nothing can get to it. And the RX.......*shivvers* And heres the story over on AWDpirates: http://www.awdpirates.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2683&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= (Laura, I hope you dont mind that I posted this) -
I awoke this morning at 4.30 am, to go to an autocross 3 hours away..."I cant believe I am going to go do this....." I was thinking.. I get up to check USMB, AIM, email, NASIOC... Laura, our very own maximumBRAT has had a TERRIBLE loss..... she AIM'ed me this sometime while I was a sleep... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/705100/6 Now I will be driving with 10000% awareness as I make my way from Asheville to Greensboro this early early hour. Laura, we all feel your loss....I know how much you love that BRAT and how much work you put into it. ALL of USMB stands with you!
