  1. the stock 4WD EA82 clutch we have in stock goes for about $151...my cost that is...list is something like $200 or so. So this deal=VERY great if it delivers what it promises. We will find out, as I am picking it up tomorrow.
  2. stage 2 is avalible NOW. he is out of the stage 3 stuff...if ordered now, can be ready thursday. there is NO min buy in. as for care of engagement...its more grabby than the stage stock and stage 2....so, just alittle more care in engaging, but shifting should not be any different.
  3. So i gotta guy locally that builds clutches and such...he's got a "stage 2" and "stage 3" setup avalible... 2 gives you up to 225 hp holding, thats about 40% increase. 3 gives you up to 280 hp holding...thats about 75% increase. kit includes throwout bearing, clutch disc and presure plate. i can get you guys the stage 2 for about $200, and the 3 for $225. the discs are relined with kevelar for stage 2, 3 gives you a little ceremic content. All are sprung hub, and very streetable...the stage 3 does need a little care in engagement from what he told me. I think Im going to get a stage 2 here in a few days...
  4. on the other hand...mine is about as non-sleeper as you can get.
  5. it was a 'mini' meet...we had another smaller one back in early dec as well. I think the 'big' meet will be in June....DrBiggy is the official planner it looks like.
  6. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=695578 So a group of us NASIOC south east people got together...and went up to the Dragon. The dragon is an 11 mile stretch of road thats got 318 curves in it over mountinous terrain...VERY VERY fun roads...mostly 2nd and 3rd gear for the WRX guys...2-3-4 for STi...3-4 for me and my RX. There is also a 'high speed' version of it, the Cherahollo (sp?) skyway thats about 20 miles of FAST wide open sweepers and everything. The RX=NOTHING broken this time! (except for an exhaust hanger falling off...but that was a non issue) And...best of all...RX=faster than WRX's and RS's out there on the skyway. I could keep up with the STi...but its power was more ofcourse, and it did have better tires...so, it ecaped. There are also TONs of gravel roads around...some much like rally GB, some like New Zealand...most a cross. RX=2nd fast. Fastest was a guy in 04 WRX wagon, aka ydant on nasioc...ofcourse, hes more nuty and has stock ground clearance and suspension...RX=diff almost draggin ground in some places...so, we slowed some. JWX was there and can attest to the performance of the cars present We had TONs of fun on the paved and un-paved areas! Check the thread out for the pics and rally drifting vids!
  7. So one of the lines going to the heater core was leaking..small...but enough to leave random puddles...and i couldnt smell it...plus enough to be of concern over long trips. I moved and tightened the clamp...its still leaking evidently...so...more hose for me before i go to the Dragon. As for the Fuel Cut Gremlin (FCG)...its 90% solved. I followed DIS (Do It SIdeways) advice and made a honeycomb of straws in the MAF filter adapter, and used panty hose stretched over it under the folter to hold the straws in good and tight. So...now i can do 20+ seconds at WOT on stock boost before aything happens...aka ecessive speed, traffic...ect...no FCG!!!! Up the boost and its around 10 seconds its doing it again...but not as bad. BUT...i now have some clutch slip around the peak TQ RPMs...2800~3200...at stock boost...and anything more than stock its clutch slip city until it heats up and get some RPMs to it. I've also seemed to pick up some TQ and off idle response and the hesitation that was there is 90% gone as well. Pics to come soon.
  8. im going to install a stock subaru one...but from a legacy.

    Finally!

Keep it. Its rare dude. 1 of 10~20 world wide.
  10. this: from this thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27443&highlight=straws
  11. I mean the HVLA could be dry and possibly stopped up with debris from sitting or what not...time will tell on that. yes, play with the adjustment.
  12. ...some JDM Cusco straws for my honeycomb project for the RX!!!!!!!!!

    Finally!

the coolant lines need to be 'adjusted' and the downpipe and up pipe/header flange is different...but NOT on the TWE pipes, they fit both the new and old IHI's. the oil lines look to be the SAME. the compressor housing will not line up to anything stock. where the stocker has a 90* elbo cast peice on it...the TD04 does not, you will have to fasion a new pre-turbo intake. as for the compressor outlet...the stocker is pointing UP. the td04 points, towards the TB horizontally. that has to be adressed with new piping, or moving the wastegate actuator along with rotating the housing to its exiting UP.
  14. sounds like the HVLA's are in need of some oil. Shifting problem seems like a maladjusted clutch issue.
  15. So i got a TD04 today! Now...im going to work on rotating the housing 90 deg which is supposily impossible...and throw it on the RX as soon as I get intake peices...and maybe a DP. I have a stock WRX DP...but Id like to get something 'real' to put on it.
