  1. Yeah...i agree on the surface trueness. If the surfaces were done like so on for the OE HGs...they would not blow so easily. Keith at TWE wants some cometics for his wagon...so whatever the Min order is...hes going to get them...at least thats the impression I got from him. And I think the price was less...but I cant remember. I know the EJ ones are really cheap online...but I dont know if they are the same as the EA82 ones are/will be.
  2. ive been really careful selecting race tires with the rim selection i have for the 4x140 pattern...i found the best to be the 235/45/13...thats ALOT shorter than stock...really makes the car stay in the powerband on autox courses... 205/60/13 is what I have for the street tire. When i get to the 5 lug and the big 17 inchers...the gearing will be redone...so the 245/45/17 will be almost the "stock" diameter for the gearing I will have.
  3. in the newer parts books...they are... SOA5225111 SOA5225100 SOA5225110 it says soemthing aobut the cat being sold separately...but i dont see how thats possible, as the cat in built in. its possible that the guy you are talking to has the originals, and dont have the SOAxxxxxxx pn on them...which means the xxxxxGAxxx series of part numbers are JAPAN origin.
  4. That means using the new STi wheel bearing stuff....im working on how to do the rear and stay in SM. 05 STi=STRONG.
  5. So...im starting to get out the serious numbers.... Im seriously considering the 5 lug conversion...aloing with installing some USDM/JDM STi Brembo brakes...that means 17 inch+ wheels only. So...245/45/17 Khumo MX's would be my plan for street tires...i think I might use the new STi stuff so I can use the 17x8 USDM STi wheels...its like 5x114 or something...same as SVX. For race tires...the 315/35/17, either Hooiser A3S04, Khumo Victoracer or V700 are avalible...those are the same diameter as the streets(i woudl also be revamping the entire transmission...possibly using an EJ box)...but obviously 70MM wider....ofcourse I would be getting some 17x11 or 12 rims for those. The question is...Im wondering, and I think its possible...to make a widebody kit and not have to start relocating peices of unibody. I can roll/flare for tire clearance all I want in Street Mod for Solo 2...custom work for this is not an issue, i can get it done no problem, and I'll have fully adjustable coilovers setup for some serious roadcourse/solo2 action...so I can adjust the height to whatever I want. What kind of issues do ya'll see me having trouble with?
  6. You could do a SPFI swap for a few more HPs...or MPFI for a little more...or, if you really want to get into it, a turbo swap. You can get 200 HP out of them reliably. You will need more of a 'racing' type clutch for that tho...there are several options that have come about that are very streetable and takes the power. Or...you can do an EJ swap...alot involved there...but the EJ's are nearly bullet proof like the NA EA82's...and put out 135~165 ponies....unlike the EA82's NA 80~97 HP.
  7. I thats called "open deck"....as there are several subie engines like that too. If you look closer...you will see the steel sleeve pressed into the water jackets.
  8. clutchnet makes a pressure plate of increased clamping. Kevelar needs more clamping to work right. The clutchnet stuff thats 'pucked' doesnt need more to hold more....i dont know the material tho.
  9. Does anyone know the actual clamping force the PP exerts onto the clutch disc?
  10. the timing sounds WAY off. Advance to 20* BTDC.
  11. Huh? The ones I am talking about are custom made ones from Cometic...just liek the ones they make for the EJ engines that support very high combustion presures...aka high boost/nitrous....to my knowledge they are multilayer metal ones with some kind of other material on them for sealing. The copper ones from headgasket.com/gasket works usa are purely copper ones.
  12. stright 2.5" pipe all the way back to a cherry bomb of same diameter. I shoud take pics.
  13. $1,715.00 Legacy Turbo. 10103AA310 Thats the EJ22 turbo for USDM. 27 in the country.
  14. the dealers SHOULD stock them, as the nuts are the same ones used one ALL turbo cars....and studs are a little more iffy... SUBARU stock massive number of them in the warehouses. Be warned...the nuts are NOT cheap. But WELL worth the $...that way you dont end up with rusty stuff when you need to redo something or what not.
  15. its funny...xmas is the moring u open up presents and relax with familiy or what not...and today is the day that ive got the MOST done to the car, evAr.
