EA82= Over head camshaft, 2 valves per cylinder. 2 timing belts operating the cams. Hydrualic valve lash adjusters mean low maintiance if the oil is changed reguarly, cooling system is maintained, and timing belts serviced every 52,000 miles. 1.8L of displacement...offed with Carb, SPIF, MPFI and MPFI+TURBO. EA71=1.6 liter, overhead vavle, single cam with pushrod/rocker actuation. Trouble free and most reliable.

Looks like im going to extend my wait for MSDIS. -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7940604279&category=38660 Guage only goes to 1600....so to me 1400 at full boost seems high. Ive had the turbo glowing bring red before, and I was running stock boost, stock exhaust but with gutted cats and a stright pipe from the 2nd cat back.

um. I might have some. I'd have to go look.
-
maybe i need to install some EGT.
-
you could build/buy a RAM engine and replace the EA82 (and give it to me as a whole) with the built EA81.

Got springs installed...new pic of the RX.

There it is...pretty much slammed....but, still enough travel to work with for autocross/track. The car has goen from neutral-push to neutral-loose. On R's I imagine its much like drift on demand now. Now, I just need to take care of the clutch, center/front diffs, the syncros, MS+DIS....oh and get some brakes that done catch fire (atleast they stopped fading!!) and some REAL dampers/springs along with adjustable suspension bits.
-
U win? I solved it BEFORE u posted that.
-
that was it. I unplugged the MAF and it ran...and I found it.
-
SO i got my new springs installed this morning...went and filled up with gas, and then flogged down some backroads....it handles alot better now....but needs some more dampening. I get up the driveway, and stop, engine dies...I see smoke...then I smell it, "oh, the brakes are on fire again." Start engine...no run. Start with gas...run, no idle. Air suction sound. Vac leak. From where? I dont know. I cant seem to find the sourse. So...once again, RX=Bork3d.

-
it might be in mm then...0.25mm? 0.5mm?
-
thanks...but the link DID work for me!
-
the coilovers? Yes...but i dont think they will lift your wagon anymore than it already is. the best way to lift it...is taller/stiffer springs, or a lift kit really.
-
MPFI and Carb pistons list as SAME part number. SPFI are separate PN, as are the 85-86 Turbo( pistons, 87-88 B, and 88-90 B. Cosworth builds all their engines with OE SUBARU piston rings. Go figure.
-
NO. Clutch DISC only. Pressure Plate will NOT work. Nor will flywheel.
-
I have no real data...as I NEVER had an oil pressure/temp guage in the wagon...which was the only car it was on.
-
i work at a suby dealer, what do you expect?
