I have no idea. Free bump for you! although I imagine its an emissions device of sorts.

$h!t happens....i spent 6k on the wagon only for it to blow up two engines in short order. thats what happend when you deal with older turbo cars with many ?s about them...oh well....

THATS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! Guess what I got to drive today...

After reading this all the way....this will come across sounding like im INSANE....but i would realisticly NEVER own a 2.5 GT....unless its for stricky daily driving (thats if someone GAVE it to me)or just to have it in the garage to say "yeah, ive got one." Why? My RX handles better, and its almost as fast...I drove the Legacy GT at a ride and drive at the SE SUby challange...the only thing I was impressed with was the transmission, and even then i was dissapointed that the shifter in the center console was BACKWARDS!! Anyhow...basically i dont trust the new legacys because they are 55% or so US content and assembled. Only Impreza and Forester for me. I know the 2nd gen Legacys are great tho...3rd gen..ok...4th gen...im waiting. -
man......lets get him to do the 87+ turbo stuff.

Techworks Header Uppipe Downpipe where is yours *Pics*

the stock header ca be installed and removed w/out raising the engine. The TWE header...with the PS lines, the pass. eng. mount needs to be unbolted and the engine raised that far...and theheader will go in with some elbow grease...and some adjustment of the PS lines. I with no PS lines there...the header can be installed with the engine remaning in rest position...no engine jacking needed. Best way to install is get all the old exhaust stuff off, and the stubo and all that off and out of the way. Install header first. then go from there. with PS lines, it makes it harder...but with the front of the car up in the air enough, its easy peasy. -
bell housings are slightly different, adapter plate needed. And some intereting work on the clutch/flywheel setup to get it going....from what I hear.

damnit! thats the high idle valve hose! i certinly believe it needs to be plumbed in somewhere post-MAF.... And thats certinly the best looking n00b IC install ive ever seen. Looks way beter than mine. -

Just called them...the check has not cleared for TWE yet. Should be cleared this week tho, so shipping should occur at the middle/end of the week. :-\ -
alot of those vac lines are useless...,just to let you know...

Vac line from intake manifold controls recirc/BOV operation. Tapping into the wasteaget line would be a big no no....as the wastegate (here on, "WG") line is stright off the compressor housing...so it sees DIRECT compressor housing pressure. At part throttle, heavy load, the turbo can and will overspool/over boost if the WG line is to the intake manifold...thats one issue I have with the EBC...its hooked up to the manifold and doesnt see the pre TB presures...to the turbo is really cookin! No lag...but still...is stressing it. Anyhow, at part throt, the waste gate progressively opens as presure rises to keep the turbo from producing more than 6.5~8 PSI or so...when you let off the gas, TB closes, causing lots of air to go no where, compressor surge..and the wastegate opens fully...turbo despools FAST, and the intake charge air goes...somewhere...either recirc/BOV, some into the TB...the rest tries to escape back thru the compressor which=BAD BAD NEWS, and LOTS of stress on the turbo...thats why modern turbo cars have BOV/recirc valves...so the air can escape, turbo stays somehwat spooled, and no turbo death. -

Its an 04 WRX hood scoop. Im not cheating! LOL The BOV's vac hose is routed over to where I have a T fitting in some vac lines....that go to the intake maifold. The line thats on the bottom of the stock intake plenum is for the idle ait control valve....well, more like high idle valve. All you need to do is make sure its hooked into a place BEFORE the TB, but after the MAF...as long as its hooked up getting metered ar...the thing will idle correctly when cold and what not. Ive got mine on the side of that intake pipe I have...that yellow/orangeish hose on the left there. And to go back to the IC tilting...it would really but alot better to make a bracket for that IC...cuz if you block off the bottom of that IC...you get a hot spot/no air flow thru it, and you loose IF efficiency. YOu can take one of those spare tire holder thingys with the turbo heat shield on it, cut it up, and reweld it and make some tabs on it and so on...the reaon I used what I did is the IC intake pipes are metal under the IC and there is plenty of room for the air to escape...i see you IC is one made for the 2.5 RS turbo kits... -
i always run 93...from Shell, Texico, chevron...never 76 stations and BP seems to be crappy nowadays. otherwise, in a non turbo, anything will work fine...i noticed NO performance/MPG gains from anything better than 87 on a SPFI kaa. on a 2.5 RS...it likes 93 over 87 for sure.

under that mess, the item in question is what appears to be a boost control solenoid. It hooks up in between the compresor housing, and wastegate...and there is a 3rd line going elsewhere....and there is wires going to it. I've still not fully figured out tis fuction.

Whatever stock is for WRX. The outlet is a little over 2.5 inches...and the pipe inlet looks to be 1.5 inches.

DO EEET!! We need to get the EA82T following started in serious ways.

Ok, the blue one is the dash turbo light switch. Green=injector 'dropping resistor' block thingy. Unplug that and the injectors dont work. Red=WHAT IS THAT???? Cruise control unit?

I dont know if scott has a bro. Dyno? as soon as Top Speed here in atlanta gets thier dyno up and running. Dyno jet, in ground...can handle 1800 HP! Porter will give me t3h hook up!

if you have an 85/86 Leone...its a completely different system as compared to 87 and up. 85/86 has the flapper door style air flow meter, while the 87+ has the Mass Air Flow meter (MAF) Kevin: Its NOT very scientific....I got some huge friggin mud flaps from NAPA, things for the likes of a large dump truck, 18 wheeler...and I had cut them into sections for mud flaps for the other RX i had, and i had them on the wagon...I had taken them off, and they were laying around...the IC would not sit level...so I grabbed all the mud flaps and stuck them under the IC to make it level.

No. I need all I can get.
