First...I need an N/A daily driver. Such as a 3AT 2wd or 4WD SPFI EA82 kaa with CRUISE CONTROL. Or that pristine condition 3 door coupe I found thats 2wd 5 speed. Next goal: RX=Fast. Koni double adjustable coilovers Replace all the rubber bushings with Delrin (sp?) Re-work the engine if it blows before sept 2005 (pistons, rods, ARP studs, Cometic HG, Peaco crank, spyder, TB) MS+DIS, installed and tuned in properly TD04-13G (deadbolted hopefully) USDM STi TMIC with 04 spec hood scoop Roll bar and two harnesses WRX or STi or other seats New front camber plates...possibly my special offset solid bushing for the lower control arms Possibly a new steering wheel...MOMO knock off type stuff Fix shift linkages Tranny (if funds are present): STi RA gear set Reinforced everything Special syncros Cusco front/rear diffs Cusco 35/65 planetary center diff Rework the shift forks/rods *CAR MUST REMAIN SCCA SOLO2 STREET MOD LEGAL!!!!* (that means no crazy BS... ) more to come.... Goal is to get the car/driver up to the speed level of a certin 05 ESP flat 4 kaa....and to piss off Scott Segal as he's an asshat. Oh, and to be the fastArest RX evAr.

same style stuff as the EA82T stuff really...do a search and you should find some pics.
-
pic would be great, with an arrow to the part you need...LOL
-
Nope. Getting a roll bar for it soon....it will be the wace kaa....I need that GL-10 sedan man! LOL
-
Cant, at porter/2pt5rs's place for a party...JWX better get over here soon...as Ive got parts for him!
-
yeah kevin, those are the diff lock/4wd engage dohickys....the things we are discussing are 'behind' the air box on the strut tower.

what was that for Jay? Anyhow, the clutch hold up FINE for near stock power levels, and autocross launches and such. Its the fact that the clutch wont hold up to the higher power levels, and i never expected it to hold it either, as i discovered with previous setups....the stock stuff is not up to it. I would like to find a clutch to put up with the abuse for 30k miles of street driving with autocrosses inbetween. That should'nt be too unreasonable, should it? I mean...i go thru engines at an average of 20k miles right now....i atleast wont a clutch to last that long with the autox launches and NORMAL street driving. What im hopeing to do soon is aquire a daily driver, and reserve the RX for race duty....the hard part is getting a daily driver that I like to drive. :-\ I wouldnt expect a FULL RACE clutch to last longer than a regular street clutch... Still, i am carefully considering all options before investing.

Oh yeah, i remember reading that part on the lap top....but....there is a reason why ia m choosing MS over it...i just dont remember why.
-
I think im going to end up with a clutch net 3 put with stock pres plate...seeing as WRX stuff looks to be more $...but im investigating.
-
What wing?
-
Yes, I can tell by looking to see if pull/push actuation. I know the WRX/STi has that. The EA82 stuff is smaller...by a TAD on diameter, but the disc still fits into the flywheel perfectly. I know that Im not going to be using the new gen pres.plate/flywheel combo unless something very interesting comes up...and I ESPECIALLY wont be using the pull type...as our setups are push obviously. IIRC, the 2.5 RS and stuff like so, clutch discs and flywheels are interchageable...its the 6MT-STi stuff that gets iffy and supposidly not interchangeable with everything else.
-
So my stock clutch is toast (its only 6k miles old!) for high boost operations now, EVEN at 12 PSI!!!!!!!!!! Looks like im going to look at the clutchnet stuff heavily, and investigate this EJ AWD clutch compatibility that I have found...and see what kind of indestructable clutch setup I can find that will hold up to the HP this engine is putting out. That and I STILL have them gremlin fuel cut under stock boost....it does it under high boost too. Whats strage is it will do it at 11~12 PSI at the 5 sec interval...and NOT hit real boost/fuel cut...but anything 13 psi or more, it will NOT gremlin cut and do the full fuel cut like its 'supposed' to.
-
The disc IS a few MM more is total DIAMETER than the EA82, but it fits perfectly into the flywheel and pres. plate. The thickness is the two discs are nearly identical. i just need to find two NEW ones and measure them. This will give us old skoo folks clutch options, kevelar, ceramic, carbon fiber, and stuff like that....where as clutchnet is the only source ive seen for 'direct fit' clutches for the EA82/81/71/63 stuff... We can get a presure plate from them as well. Im still going to investigate ALL options of this EJ AWD clutch stuff into the EA82 4WD stuff.
-
No theory. FACT now. So...YES Green for go...
-
So i laid out a stock 4WD EA82 flywheel, clutch disc and presure plate. Then...I took this WRX stock clutch...and compared. It WILL fit perfectly into the 4WD flywheel, and onto the presure plate perfectly, and the discs appear to be nearly the same thickness, and the splines are the same on both transmissions. You do the math! However, the pres plate and flywheel on the EJ stuff is entirely different than EAxx stuff....a comparrison on that stuff is next...!!

1.1176 MM for EA82...thats 0.044 inch.

Fuel cutoff bypass for hot wire MPFI

I agree. -
simple digital systems...?

in the case of the 89...i think it was the fact I never had it high enough for it to really fuel cut. the 87 right now, will run 11 psi for a LONG time...I still get the 5 sec gremlin, but it only did the REAL cut once....out of like 15 pulls. The 89 never seen more than about 12...and that was all boost creep. The 88....I dont think steven ever held a gear long enough to hit the cut when it was at 17 psi....BUT, on the dyno run...which was about 4 mins at WOT in 4th gear at 12 PSI...IT NEVER MISSED A BEAT.
-
I'll check on that then.
-
My german is not that good...
-
Well said. I dont think the sensor/switch that is there on the 87+ has anything to do with ECU stuff...its just a light switch. There's got to be a simple/easy/not too difficult way around fuel cut.
-
I dont want fuel cut either. I wish subaru had left the external switch....maybe its still somewhere on the car....but its certinly NOT in an obvious place like the 85-86'ers were.
-
No vac lines. Just a large elec. connector.

Bump for the new thread about this one.
