I remember my 87 strut tower...looks like suby tex's. That first switch as described is still the turbo indicator in the dash...its still there. There is a solienoid there too now, and it control boost more directly. There is also a block there, that when unplugged, the fuel injectors dont work. That must be the resitor block. 85-86 cars dont have those last two....BUT they have that second switch as decribed by the FSM excerpt. Im going outside really quick like... Ok, back... There is indeed ONE pres switch there...upon unplugging it, turbo indicator light no fuction...boost cut still there. on 85/86...boost lite work, fuel cut gone. Hmmmmmmmm........i wonder why that is in an 89 where fuel cut is supposidly built in.... This GOOD thread!

Very good info shadow. Again, Im sticking with the MS+DIS route....i was considering alternatives...but there are NONE other than the MS+DIS. I will, however, keep the GReddy EBC i have when I do MS+DIS...I love it!

1. 737026033 85-89 clutch cable for EA81 stuff 2. 737026032 81-83 clutch cable 3. 737065251 the subaru EPC does not list that one...but suby parts.com lists it as an acell cable. -

737065251 accell cable. 737026032 clutch cable. dont know what years yte tho... :-\ -
Yes. PS lines. I need to get a longer return line to add a cooler in line...
-
thats crazy and unsafe.
-
what body kit? Yes.
-
not that I know if. seems to be fine.
-
Me? its 'floating' the piping is holding it on...plus the hood.
-
full engine management.
-
and, once again....i go... Hmmmmmmmmm.........
-
THere are some rubber peices under the IC that hold it level in relation to the hood, so...that and the hood. There is enough holding power AND flex in the piping to allow to to move aroud when needed, but yet stay really stable and not flop. Ive never had issues with it moving around. Just dont use PVC plumbing pipes in those lines you will be fine.

Full Time 4WD gearbox question
WJM replied to EA82Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It will still ahve the diff lock/4WD engage, and those two trannys will look VERY similar, expecially the D/R. -
but wont the SAFC and FDC negate each other? FDC clampl voltage...and SAFC add that voltage right back to it?
-
Um....I have yet to look....lol. sorry.
-
Nope. That stays on the RX.
-
So...what wire send the voltage for the ECU to know when to fuel cut? what wires to I need to splice in the Super AFC for?
-
Supercharging. Discussed before? Yes. Why me and why now? Think...turbos, yes, are more efficent of engine energies, and more top performance and such....BUT...supercharger...put foot down, insta power. a 2.5 RS that is set up properly, and supercharged, MAD TITE autocross speed, for REAL. So....supercharge an EA82. Its small, light, and TUFF. Instant power, no waiting for turbo spooling action, and yes SC takes away crank power, but the overall gain and powering out of corners would be well worth it. NA build? sure, thats good. Combine a lower compression NA build, say 9.0 or 9.5 to 1, with SC setup. Expect power output to be around 180-200 HP. Perfect power range for such a light car (2600 lbs or so, but 2600 is the legal weight limit in SCCA for Street Mod with forced induction) in a local level. Or go to SM2 for even less weight and compete with miatas and RX7's and the like. Anyhow, just an idea that I was seriously considering...and i might still follow thru when/if time and $ permit...maybe jsut do up a street SC setup for the wagon. Who knows...?

Full Time 4WD gearbox question
WJM replied to EA82Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
there is no real easy way to tell...usually i just grab the input shaft, put it in a gear, and turn it. If both the tail/front shafts turn, and you can hold the front and the rear turns, hold the rear and the front turns...or snay combo of that...its a FT4WD. its its a part time...the rear wont do anything but free turn.
