  1. Its normal. I did driving like that...and the only reason I didnt see the stock header glowing was due to the sheilding and insulation...but the turbo was BRIGHT cherry red. I have not done any night running and got out to check with the TWE's, but on something thats pushing hard like that on turbo...its fairly normal.
  2. So would it be better to go with the 3 puck sprung one from clutchnet? Im not ready to upgrade the PP yet. As long as the clutch i get holds up to 250...in not worried right now. I am not planning on going past 200 for a while...at least not until after 2005 season. Im at estimated 200 right now.
  3. autocross/track and daily drivng is what im doing. is it REALLY going to destroy stuff...even if im not a complete idiot?
  4. I hope to have an ECU soon. those are over $600 new from subaru tho.
  5. as long as it gets rid of the FUEL/OVERBOOST cut on 87+ id be in provided I dont squirt and spark at the point it becomes avalible.
  6. Swapped fuel pump and relays and fuel filters. STILL THERE. Those who dont know...5 seconds after I WOT...the injectors or ignition cuts out for 1/4 of a second...a huge JOLT...and then, 5 seconds later if still on WOT...again. Its got new cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and known good coil. Ive swapped MAFs, not ecu yet, fuel pump, filters, replays...ect. any ideas?
  7. 6 puck solid hub clutch...ACT. Appears identical to the Clutchnet. Reason why I got with ACT? i can get it cheaper than the clutchnet stuff.
  8. sounds like the dizzy is off one tooth on the gear from the cam.
  9. I do. where's me book... 44022GA220 is the DP gasket 44022GA210 is the header/turbo gasket.
  10. Ive noticed that the EPC lists ALL subies of the era when something fits a turbo or 4wd or 4wd-turbo car. Still...i hope to find it.
  11. Here's the installtion instructions from TWE that Jack sent me last night. Right click this, and "save as" its about 300kb. The TWE peices have departed "MINNEAPOLIS, MN, US" as of dec 28...expected arrival in charlotte is Jan 3. Call Folger SUBARU at 1-704-536-9635, ask for MIKE MELTON You will need to talk to him for shipping and etc...I am OUT OF THE LOOP NOW.
  12. Great, that means my 89 sitting in atlanta has it...and i will find it this weekend.
  13. someone with an 87, and 88...and maybe 89 or 90...look thru the wirng and see if you can find said "fuel cut unit" as described in this thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27482 thanks!
  14. Just remember to PLUG EVERYTIHNG BACK UP unlike me. I left the haz switch unplugged...i plugged it up, and all is worky now. Still have not found the FCU tho.
  15. Damn. She's smarter than I thought! (ofcourse, I do know of her exploits.) The line of stright means nothing with out control of the infinate angles.
  16. If i could get rid of the fuel cut, and install a clutch that will hold the power, then I would dyno.
  17. First of all the axle needs to come off...and the caliper...and then the axle nut that has the hub/rotor...some good soakings of PB blaster should get enough to loosen things up. I know that the hardest part is getting the stub out of the bearing in the trailing arm.
  18. after putting everything toget...hazards and turn signals dont work now.
