WJM replied to CoreysLoyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
why does it have 1985-1986 spec grille, sidemarkets and front bumper if its a Loyale? -
Where do these Rubber hoses go
WJM replied to Myxalplyx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, I made that fer ya Kevin. :-p Id take that silly turbo valve off, and just run a short line between the compressor housing and wastegate actuator, like the 85~86 turbo cars do. -
*shakes head* Ok Kevin..you do that.... Fuel cut solution is easy. MS+DIS.

Folger's has 8 of these right now. 1-704-536-9635, as for parts and Mike Melton. -
Its got a OE 195 T-stat in it. Good rad and everything. AND its less than 1 year old too.

ive noticed the hatch creaked around quite a bit on the dragon and skyway runs at the NASIOC Dragon meet... Still, it handles better than the wagon with the exact same setup on it. *shrug* Ive never owned a sedan....YET.

Cooling: water is getting warmer
WJM replied to mr.radon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
might have some debris in the rad fins....might want to check that out. -
i had an 89 DL that was like that...it WAS the drums...and i never fixed it either...as it stoped on a dime with w/e brakes it had with the 205/60's that I had on it.

ummm...mkay. Pretty much what Miles said....I have done this before...if you've got a pump thats not the right height, you can press or pull the hub to the right place, and the studs ARE removable to fit w/e pully you want.

Ok...so the last two mornings its been about 15 out...and the car has NO HEAT even when the engine as at 'full temp' on the temp guage...along with the cold idle not going off. After the car sits...and I warm it up again, it has heat and idles properly...but by then its closer to 30 outside, and its the middle of the day. So...any ideas on what the problem could be? Its got a 60/40 solution of the green stuff in it.

because the 3-doors 'look racier'. I get ALOT, as in TONS, more attention with the RX 3door than I EVER got with the wagon...except when the wagon was all decaled and oud as hell...but still the RX captures all.

Let's play engine trouble trivia *Answer Posted*
WJM replied to spanky_pete's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that happened on the first RX i had. Drove it home like that...wiggled wires...and voila! its alive at 100% power. -
figured that out when i seen then in the market place.
-
do eeeeeeet!
-
because thats wher the cams peak at...installing a device that increases TQ/HP only makes that peak 'worse'....thats my guess. Drops off due to lack of proper top end cams, lack of fuel, lack of real timing control, and small turbo size.
-
No, not allowed either.
-
Yep. Its just the rules...
-
Thats faster than the RX when Steven ran it in the grassroots challenge last year... whats the specs on that? and...I want ALL of these:
-
Mist with the finnished IC blower would hAve been great. Waterspray IC's are illeaga in SCCA Solo2...even tho EVO and STi are factory equippted...they are not allowed to use them on course. :-\ So...im not going to add one for a while.
-
Its a normal think. All the turbo cars I have/had does it.

How to get 220-230hp from 1.8turbo?
WJM replied to Tee Koo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The high boost...for some reason the EBC is a little loopy...and was not too stable between 14~15 psi...you could hear the turbo changing pitch too... that is smoothed to the max by the dyno program. With no smoothing, the stock boost runs look identical in unstableness as the runs on a mustang was for the wagon unsmoothed. -

1. all engines have a 'peak' TQ and HP number..and everyone stands by that peak number, so why not me? 2. The block has 170k+miles on it to my knowledge, and Ive put 10k miles on it since I got it...7k of that modded to this extent. 3. Ummm...i did several dyno runs...as you can see. I was going to do one more at high boost, but time was pressing us off... http://consumer.inkfrog.com/pix/WJM/rx_all_runs.jpg 4. IIRC, the conditions exceded that of STD...aka the air was cooler, as it was 40 out, plus we were under 1k ft elevation IIRC. So...eat that! :-p Sure, go on!
