  1. hmm...MIGHT be a tad low. the 1.8 is going to have to use more fuel to push the car because of the lack of power, but the fwd should free up some mpg
  2. i'm just saying, if you're gonna try to get people to buy a magazine to read about a specific car, do it properly and say "hey, please check this out, i'm really proud of my car, it's going to be on the cover of Xmonth's issue of Xmagazine". giving out every single detail and then a thankyou at the end is poor salesmanship and kindof an insult to my intelligence.
  3. can you explain this "limping home" mode? i reaed about it in my manual (which i used as a bedtime book for a while:brow: ) but i didn't really understand it
  4. unfortunately, the only people that can get any use out of the ej18 apart from getting the groceries are the guys in the Offroad section. yeah...fwd too. if you want speed, you bought the wrong car. you need a 2.2 at LEAST to get any kind of viable power output.
  5. um...great...now i don't have to buy the magazine. is no one else seeing that this is nothing but an ad or plug for the august edition of the mag? he say's that he's telling us this stuff like we've been pining for it for months...his post count today; 1. his post count in 3 years; 1 however, it is a nice ride.
  6. as far as i know there never was a 2.0 twin turbo for a legacy in the US. please correct me if i'm wrong.
  7. yeah, i've heard 15 as well, but again, nothing official. 20'll probably be safe.
  8. i don't know about that "losing pressure" jive. a car would have to be sitting for a couple months before it has a hard time starting up. CEL - Check Engine Light, AKA; MIL - malfunction indicator lamp
  9. this is what i understand: as far as i know there's a japanese law that states that an engine has to be replaces at a certain mileage (around 40k is what i've heard) which means that most jap engines have been beat to hell and back, had little or no maintinence, and are overall in poor shape, which is why they're so cheap. i suggest you try to find out information on that as well as try to find someone that's bought one of those used jap blocks
  10. has there been an consensus made about what ampreage fuse you're supposed to use for the FWD fuse box? it appears that my dutyC doesnt have power (i think a wire came apart from my Andyjo awd-4wd conversion switch) and i dont really want to drive around like that until i can take it to the garage on wednesday.
  11. i dont think that wheel bearings would make a squeak. every time i've heard bad bearings it's been a hum or grind noise. you got me...sorry
  12. when i liad the legacy strut next to the outback strut, the silver shafts ('scuse the term) were the same length. more coils = softer ride = sits lower
  13. nono. i meant with OB struts, without OB springs.
  14. i'm running regular legacy springs with outback struts. it seems like i'm getting everything for the money. i don't think that outback springs would really help it any; i parked next to an SUS the other day to check heights and mine was just a bit (barely noticeable) taller because of the 205/75 tire as apposed to 205/70. the ride might be stiffer, but i highly doubt it would be any taller.
  15. yeah, he said it does seem to lose power. is it more like a "CHHOOOoooo" or more like a "PPSSSTtttt" or more like a "FFSSSShhhhh"......i know this reads funny, but there's a difference.
