@#$! dashboard lights
yeah, but they're SUPER PRONE to burn out in 2nd gen legs and imps. i had the same problem. burned out, replaced, burned out again. that was about 1.5 years ago. they're still burned out. taking everything apart is too big of a hassle to deal with. i know where the stupid buttons are.

ok, let me put in my 2 cents. 1: the cooling fans turn on and off at will (under normal conditions). they turn on when you drive, you just don't know it. 2: the problem will be easily fixable if you take it in to a garage. langston subaru is very good. 3: good to see someone where from the area!

This Friday's Plans
well....today's friday, so i'm hard at work.... i'm NOT taking off my front bumper today. taking off the rear proved to be a big enough pain in the rump roast for one day. i was having a hard time getting it off of the "sliders" evidently. so i got the rear bumper off and saw that there was MORE rust forming under those little metal pieces between the bumper cover and the rear lights i bougtht some rush crap that i'm not sure really did a whole lot. i spent some time grinding off rust and paint to get to the metal, and then put the rust crap on. while doing this i realized that what i'm doing is going to be temporary until i can get it professionally fixed. there's one spot that's eaten through the metal that i'm trying to cover with primer, but i'm not sure how thats going to go. there's also another spot that is rotted a bit, but it's not through the metal yet. i'm using duplicolor grey filler/sandable primer (even though i found that the primer that is evidently from the factory is brownish/orange). i'm going to have to put SOME kind of paint on it before i leave here (my inlaw's garage) because it's raining and i'm concerned with porousness of the primer, so i'm going to use what's in stock (in the garage cabnet) which is Rustolium Professional Quick Dry Enamel. what color you may ask? FIRE ENGINE RED BABY!!! it's gonna look rediculous, but i'm sure that i'll feel better about that than the rust spot. red is more purrty than gross rust! i'll get some pictures up of the final product eventually. hopefully i can get that bumper back on!!

This Friday's Plans
ok, early friday morning i'm taking my son to washington (PA) to go to my parent's for the weekend because my wife and i are going to NJ for my brother in law's graduation. Since The Boy won't be home all day and i'm not leaving for the airport until late friday evening i've got some time to get things done on the Ru. I plan on - cutting off peeling paint from the rust. - sanding/trimming off rust - putting some kind of protectant on the metal to stop it from rusting more - possibly plastic welding the cracks in my front bumper SO: - how should i treat the metal before i spray it? - what should i spray it with? - where can i get this spray from? - what grits of sandpaper should i use? - how do you take off the rear bumper? - how do you take off the front bumper? - what else should i try to do while i've got time??

Calling all lifted rigs.. ground clearance ###'s
see, the main problem with all these comparisons with trucks and jeeps and stuff is; yeah, there's more ground clearance underneath because of the pumpkins. however no subaru will ever beat a truck's clearance at the center. AA's wagon comes close and i'm sure that it beats some, but it's not hard to find a truck that beats it.

a few offroad vids
yeah. i dont see where your problem lies with vid#1. i don't think i would have had ANY problem getting up that. what kind of tires do you run?
-
a few offroad vids
putting it in first starts the car in 50/50 but it can change. turn in a parking lot in 1st gear and you turn fine. turn in a parking lot with the 4x4 switch and you'll stop dead in your tracks.

hand throttle
i'm failing to see a benifit

Change air filter
yeah, the whole setup's different.

I'm IN!!!
hey...i know that subaru in the Oops section....
- I'm IN!!!
- hand throttle

a few offroad vids
you need to install the 4x4 switch. that'll help a lot with the second vid where your fronts were on dirt and your rears were on pavement.

How I increased my gas mileage
lets try it again. the scoop is non-functional from the factory. it just looks pretty. however, there is a hole in the hood where the scoop is. open the hood and you'll see that there's a plastic cover over the hole. remove it.
-
How I increased my gas mileage
if you have a gen 2 legacy with a hood scoop they're set up not be only cosmetic with no actual function. if you pop open your hood and look at it however, though it's nonfunctional, subaru went ahead and cut a hole in the hood under the scoop and covered it with a black plastic sheild. the mod is as follows: 1) take of the plastic sheild 2) see 1
