  1. i did the wetsand methon and... NO ORANGE PEEL!!!! YAY!!!! instead of this: i got THIS: SO....how do i strip clearcoat off of plastic?...
  2. are the lenses foggy until the clearcoat is added? or do you sand until it's perfect?
  3. i suppose. well, big hammer and a pick or chisel so you dont hit something you dont want to
  4. it's pulled through with the threads that the lugnut uses, and then there's a ribbed part that a little bigger than it's mounting hole so it squeezes in and fits tightly. so, pressure.
  5. i think the real important question (aside from, "why didn't your pictures work") is, if you take off your metal trim and paint it, what color is your neighbors car
  6. i got ngk plugs and they already gapped to spec.. i thinks it's .44
  7. yeah, being that this is in the New Gen forum i can assume you have a newer car. all that needs to be done is the caliper and disk need to come off.. if you're taking it to a garage, why do YOU need to have it ready? studs are SOP
  8. ok, see, now THAT makes more sense to me. in the future i'll only post pictures that are important to see, otherwise i'll just link "fun" pictures; and i'll urge others to do the same.
  9. yeah dude, if you get them back and it's worth it, lemme know. i've been wanted to do that with my 2.2 for a while but didnt want to spend the time or money if it's not worth it.
  10. umm...what do you total tranny rebuild....umm what do you mean one wheel beeing bigger than the other.... yes, the one wheel being bigger than the other will cause the ABS light, and yes if you keep one wheel bigger than the other (assuming it's awd) then you'll have to do a lot more than rebuild your tranny.... fix that NOW
  11. no no, i see your concern, and if i have a mod ask me (or everyone) to limit picture posting, i will be happy to oblige.
  12. HAHA, yes. i started that infamous thread. but notice how nonchalantly i mentioned it. i'm not complaning about it, i simply said that we'll see if it changes. i'm not opposed to getting better mpg, i'm just tired of new members all thinking that they're car is special and we have some magical cure for bad mpg. but thats off topic and i'd prefer this not to leave this forum.
  13. look, i have respect for you because you're a donor and by looking at your post numbers, i see you've been around for a while. however the pictures are not saved on the servers. they're saved on photobucket's servers. they're HTML links. if all of the moderators (or the owner) come into agreement that photos are bad, i'll stop posting them. until then, i'm going to post pictures as much as i want to; and i expect on seeing other people's photos as well.
  14. So i was on my way to my "job" (letting the in-laws dogs out) today around noon with my 10 month old son in my car. about 1/3 of the way to my inlaws house my car starts acting like it did when water got to the MAF. intermittent losses of power, generally like the engine is randomly turning on and off. the route i take to my inlaws is also on the way to my old garage, so i knew i had to skip out on the dogs for a while and head on over to the garage. on the way there i had to keep the pedal to the floor in 2nd gear just to keep the RPMs high enough to stop the engine from stalling out. right at the intersection the garage is at i was on a steep hill at a red light! so i put it in neutral and reved it to keep it from shutting down. eventually it shut down at the redlight so i kept it off until the light turned green. light turned green and i floored it to the garage and it shut down again right as i pulled into the bay. we ran a diagnistic on it (the CEL set after a while) and found that the MAF was bad. the Genisis diagnostic reader showed that the MAF was stuck at reading .5 g/s (or .05, i don't remember). well, 3.5 hours, 1 new MAF sensor, and 370 bucks later, my car's running fine. Hey, we'll see if the 17mpg changes any, who knows how long it's been reading wrong. (and for anyone who was wondering what i did with my son for 3.5 hours while i fixed the car, my sister came and picked him up and took him home after about 45 minutes.)
