  1. How can I be sure you're not setting me up to kill my car so you can buy another car from me and flip it on the cheap?
  2. I would imagine that assuming there's enough fluid, the brakes have been bled completely, the master cylinder would be the next step.
  3. My 96's (I know, very different) horn fuse was shared by the brake lights, which was shared with the switch that allows you to take it out of park. I know this because back when I installed air horns I didn't install an inline fuse and the horn kept blowing its main fuse. Every time this happened I had to tear up the console and stick a screw driver in a hole to get the car out of park. Likely completely unrelated, but interesting nonetheless.
  4. I'd guess so as well, but only concern is that this is the first model year that they didn't offer an SUS version which would ensure the fit.
  5. So I keep coming back every few months to check in to see if anyone's made any headway on figuring out if gen5 Outback struts fit the gen5 Legacys and I never find a news on the topic. So, any word?
  6. Yeah, believe me, I'm with you. It would be super weird to put a perishable item in a permanent location. Further research is necessary.
  7. They all have hood scoops for the intercooler - but I'm not sure if any model came with a cosmetic scoop like the gen 2 GTs. If they show an under-hood photo, you'll see the intercooler on top of the engine and maybe even the scoop cowl. Scoop: Intercooler:
  8. Um, it's not green with a toggle switch (or hole) in the coin compartment, offroad light on the front bumper (or two holes where they were mounted), a front bumper with the lower cross section cut off, and a rust spot poorly painted over by the gas tank, is it? If it is, it has a cracked block.
  9. Guess not. The schedule on cars101.com has a not saying it's IN the fuel tank. http://www.cars101.com/subaru/subaru_maintenance1.html
  10. I was just looking over the 2010 Maintenance Schedule for the 60k mile mark and the only item I'm a little nervous about doing myself is the fuel filter replacement. Anyone have any experience dropping the gas tank out of a gen 5? Giant PITA or doable?
  11. Not really sure what harm would come from leaving it in. I suppose the worst case scenario would be that the duty-c solenoid burns out because it has constant power...but to that point, it always has some kind of power going to it as the drive wheels are never 100:0. In all likelihood - leaving in the FWD fuse would do nothing bad but wear down your front tire's tread because you'll be spinning from every stop. Also, for the record - 2010+ doesn't have a fwd fuse.
  12. I'm pretty excited about the XV. Seriously considering trading in my '10 Legacy for one when they come out..
  13. I kinda can't believe that they went to the trouble to do the test, but didn't show the chart.
  14. WOW - very interesting. FINAL SCORE: SILVER: 32 BLACK: 14 Here's the breakdown: USMB: Silver: 0 Black: 8 SL-i: Silver: 9 Black: 1 LegacyGT: Silver: 23 Black: 6 I think you guys need to go back to the old forum design...these dark colors are effecting your judgement! Thanks for all the comments folks!
  15. I need your guys' help. I know I want the snowflake design, the price is right, and the brand is reputable - i loved this design (stock) on my 99GT ltd, I just can't decide on color. The car's a 2010 2.5i Graphite Grey So, here they are: Option A: http://bit.ly/p6zLDI Option B: http://bit.ly/rbsDKz ALSO - if you could please humor me and put your age next to your answer, I'd appreciate it...maybe 5 year spans if you don't want to give your whole age? (15-20, 20-25, 25-30, etc). I just want to see if a certain opinion sways one way or the other based on demographic.
  16. Cloth - manual. We figured it out over at legacygt.com It's (believe it or not) the seatbelt. More specifically the bolt that attaches the latch to the frame of the seat. Haven't found a fix for it yet, but sometime this week I'll probably empty out a can of PB on it.
