Yep - good times. The 96 I had that we were talking about years ago blew the water pump and cracked the block. It got sold to a Subaru tech in Pittsburgh for $300. He uses it for parts. Then I got a 99 GT Ltd. The idea of the car was awesome - I always wanted that car. But that particular car was an absolute nightmare. Oil leaks onto the manifold - headgaskets - a couple accidents that caused frame damage that wasn't properly fixed that I wasn't told about - I could go on. Eventually the engine seized due to lack of oil pressure and I sold it to a fellow USMB'er and he put a new engine in it and sold it for what it was worth (more than he paid me). Now, I'm in a 2010 Leg 2.5i. I love it - but damn is it a boring drive.

So, fellow 2010/11 Legacy owners; Is your driver's seat EXTREMELY-MAKES-ME-WANT-TO-TEAR-OFF-MY-FACE-JUST-SO-I'M-DISTRACTED-BY-SOMETHING-ELSE-LIKE-IN-THE-MOVIE-MAJOR-PAYNE-WHERE-DAMON-WAYANS-BREAKS-THAT-GUY'S-FINGER-IN-ORDER-TO-"TAKE [HIS] MIND OFF 'DAT PAAAIIN" squeaky? Every time I move, turn the car, go over a bump, do anything other than sit there quietly my seat squeaks and creaks. I bought the car a year ago (end of May - brandie new) and this started maybe a month or two after I bought it. Am I the only one - or is this a new 'feature' (akin to when dirt gets inside the door panel and scratched the windows on pre-'10 models)?

UPDATE: Since I posted the previous message, that car has since been blown up and sold through 2 new owners. My 2010 Legacy CVT: Recent trip from Columbus to Pittsburgh: 34mpg Standard city driving with rush hours: 25mpg Overall average of 9,999k miles (from trip odometer and computer based MPG): 28.7mpg

I couldn't be any more jealous. That is my #1 dream car, color and everything - and I have this feeling that I'll never own one.. sad.

(Not to go against Shawn's "Don't answer unless you're sure" model...) Though I have never TRIED to put Impreza struts on a Legacy, I have put Outback struts on a 96 Legacy and while doing my research on that topic this topic came up as well. As I recall, they do NOT fit. But that's just word of mouth - don't quote me on it. Opinions stated or purported facts in the preceding post do not necessarily reflect fact or the opinions or beliefs of USMB, Subaru International, Fuji Heavy Industries and its subsidiaries, NASIOC, or the Egyptian protesters. Follow this guidance at your own risk.

The more I think about it, I think the 205/75's FIT, but rub on turns. Outback struts.

biggest tires i could get onto my 96 legacy were 205/70r15.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing, especially since that's the dark gray model (hard to tell in that photo) and I'm not sure how slick jet black wheels would look on a dark gray car. I would prefer the black model, except it ONLY comes in a beige interior. You know, when you're actually serious about buying a new Subaru in this model year it becomes very evident where they felt they could save some money. Like...zero options. Here's a couple other wheels that I had my eye on (the last one is the one from the initial post):

Thanks for the honesty guys. I've never purchased aftermarket wheels before so I'm just hunting for some critiques from people who may have or may have some input...maybe something I haven't thought of. Like I said, I like the factory wheels just fine, I just don't want to pay the dealership 2500 bucks for the trim level upgrade to get the alloys instead of the steelies.

(Apparently I don't know how to spell "Opinion"...) Ok folks, I'm getting a 2010 Legacy. The ONLY thing that I want the Premium for over the base is for the wheels. The dealership is adamant that the only way you can get alloys is to buy them separately or upgrade the trim model, and personally, an extra $2500 for electronic seats and alloy wheels is absurd. SO, I picked out these guys here. Give me some honest opinions!
