  1. Welcome and hope you get it running!
  2. Yeah mine surprisingly didn't leak until I replaced the clutch and removed that gasket and it..... crumbled... lol so I've gotta hit some pull and pay yards and find a new flange I have the seal and the new pipe just need a flange... also had to replace one of those springy bolts as well.... and my neighbor is gonna weld it onto the cat for a 12 pack. But quick question I can use the flanges from a Loyale I figure but any later/alternate models as well?
  3. Yeah what I did for my GL was simply put something else there I put a Clock/indoor-outdoor thermometer simply put it over the display and it takes cheap batteries that last a few months.
  4. Yeah I need to replace those as well... similar situation... except mine will hold open when its not cold and there's no wind. Knowing me though it'll probably take getting knocked out by it (like so many others) for me to replace them
  5. Wow pretty sweet rides, and tough luck on the wagon, saw a similar paint job on a Sooby in Lyons today or rather Sunday... As well as a gem of a wagon... late 70s or so would be my guess.
  6. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/group.php?groupid=2 is the group and haven't really talked to anyone on here from Colorado except in passing so to answer your second question, not that I know of. Though I am still pretty new here.
  7. So I was driving along and then all of a sudden the oil pressure gauge went to zero, me panicking pulled over checked the oil... and it was fine. so any idea why the sensor would go out? checked the fuses and they were good. and I'm starting t o hear a slight ringing coming out of the back part of the wagon... almost like a u joint but without the problems that come with that. It's an 88 GL btw.
  8. Nearby like state wise? Well there's a few of us from Colorado floatin' around and there's a social group for the southwest.
  9. Brok my car in on the snowstorm last week, welding the exhaust pipes on so it's quieter in prep for emissions test.
  10. Finally got everything back together (i hate replacing clutches) even added on a new oil seal for the tranny and replaced the O2 sensor, also I'm waiting on an exhaust bolt (the ones with the springs) to come in and also waiting for my neighbor to come back from Moab to weld the little donut seal thing onto the exhaust pipe to seal it as it currently sounds like a tractor and scares old ladies
  11. yeah it was in neutral it just need ed a good pushing on so we just tightened all the bolts. These Haynes manuals sure aren't reliable for the torque specs though.... couldn't fine any for the transaxel mount.... just said to tighten it.
  12. So whats the best way of getting the transmission back on? Right now we've been slightly turning the flywheel while wiggling the trans to close the little 1/2" gap that's left and still doesn't seem to do anything.
  13. Yeah in hind sight 20 sounded off lol. I only went with 12 and tomorrow begins the fun part of putting everything back together!
  14. Yeah stupid Hayes manual I was like wow that's pretty tight seeing as the flywheel bolts are only 55 ft-lb. we'll just do 20 to be safe seeing as we got it to 45 with no prob.
  15. Anyone know the torque specification for a pressure plate to fly wheel? the Haynes Manual says 132-144 ft-lbs but seems a bit high and we snapped one at 60 ft-lbs
  16. Working on getting the Tranny back in... the weather seems to work against me though.
  17. Yeah turns out it was the clutch the disc was thinner then Trump's hair, So getting it replaced just waiting on the flywheel to be machined (only one parts store does it within like 20 miles and they are slow and expensive [$45!]) Would've just bought a new one ($60) but it would've taken almost 4 days to come in :/.
  18. Yeah I just use those cheap ones that slide in the window... work pretty well may ed up screwing one on similar to the bicycle bottle holder .
  19. Oh they sell Duct Tape. Btw... you ever figure out that CV guy in Colorado? May have to stock up.
  20. So decided to just replace the clutch since I'll have to pop open the transmission anyway, but anyone have an idea what size the clutch is? is it 7 7/8' or 8 7/8"? Its a few days wait either way so thats why i want to get it ordered before i crack it open tomorrow.
  21. replaced O2 sensor and am waiting on the clutch to come in so I can replace it and get my wagon working!
  22. yeah tried adj the cable using the locknut/bigger nut on the cable and that didn't do anything.... is it the neutral park/switch? or possibly the clutch?
  23. cool thanks I'll get to that once I take care of the other prob. So the other prob, I was driving around earlier and it was fine then later on I started it and noticed it took about 3500 rpm to get moving thought it a little strange then it just kept getting higher and higher and higher rpm need to start moving until it got to about 7000 and just didn't move so I thought not to risk it further, so after pulling over I thought great maybe the clutch is bad so I turned the car off and then restarted, no prob starting so then I thought maybe... and turned the car off and started it without pushing the clutch pedal and then noticed time and had to get a ride to work.... any ideas on how/why it got stuck in and how to remedy such a thing?
  24. yeah that sucks about the windshield did the insurance cover it? It's been a while since I've been to Mt. Evans will have to try it out again, and try the cog railroad on Pikes Peak its got pretty decent scenery and pretty cheap too. Heh good thing you can't do that trip now as I-70 is closed at Glenwood Canyon due to a rock slide though since ya came up 24 wouldn't have had to go through there anyway... Though I do recommend Hanging Lake if you come back again... a bit of a hike but well worth it in my opinion.
