How's the timing and filters?

Is it me or is GD angrier in his last post? As for the problem, do you have problems accelerating? If you do, maybe the two fuel filters? If no probs on accel....then I wouldn't know what to do. As far as the pressure guage.. In my 83 GL WAGON, ...the fuel guage rarely works, only the "low fuel light" when I am .5gal away from empty. My pressure guage jumps from 25 to 5. and volt-o guage comes on when it feels like. I'm fairly new to these boards and I have found out that Sube guages aren't to be trusted (Execpt speed-o and tach (sometimes))

I don't really know anything about this, but how's the wiring? Like the battery wires? Did ya hook something up wrong or forget to hook something up...that's probably just my mistakes that I tell myself "I'm sure other people have done this"....yeah I'm tired.

I'm guilty of asking a lot of questions and still being lost. Or having my questions answered and then just inspiring more ideas/questions. Man I love this board. Off the subject(maybe not) does the USMB have any official stickers/ gear to show off the awesomeness of this community?

Hello, why is it that all new-comers to the board are always saying "hey i'm a noob, sorry for bothering you". Wasn't this board made for all skill levels noobs and experts alike. My soob did that too. It was a 1983 Sube GL 2wd. Dunno why I said that, don't know what caused it. Maybe it is the power steering?

Go figure, it was the fuel filters, now I think the CAT is clogged, I tried bangin it out, but gave up and slapped her back on DANG IT! THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!

Yeah, didn't work. Pulled the plug where the sensor should be, and it still did the same. I had a tip that it could be the tranny filter, gunna have to flush tranny and check/replace filter and fluid...any other tips?

How will pulling the s3ensor out tell me if the cat is bad?

Well, I took my muffler off. How do I know if I fried my CAT?

Hello. Today I took my 1983 Subaru GL with a 3AT with an EA8T engine on the dunes. It did really well, then I went down a hill messed around and then tried top get back up this hill, 2 hours later ,driving the heat gauge to 1/8" under the max mark, and having a "A.T. Oil Temp" light come on all the time, I got out. THen the car started to idle high(around 6700RPM), but that was just a stuck valve. OK my problem is when I get to 4000RPM in 1rst it starts bogging and spazzing out, then in 2nd at 3000rpm it spazzes and in 3rd at 2300RPM is craps out. It's like chugging and revving up then down. I haven't had a chance to look at any problems. but at 800rpm it's timed 11deg BTDC. This only happend after i took it in the sand. THere was a lot of bouncing and jarring, along with high revs and bogs. I was thinking it was the govenor, but I don't have the chance to look till tomorrow. SPREAD IT ON (The suggestions) THANKS!

I'd have someone with a sube, preferrably one like your's go there...see what's going down. Maybe it's some crazy thing like the bremuda triangle. Oh and the dude who overheats going North, is that more uphill than the trip south??

I have a 1983 GL Wagon. I want to put a stereo in, where would I mount. I've seen some pretty bad jobs that replaced the stock radio and left gaping holes, but I also don't want it in my glove box.

I was wondering how to go about getting a title for an abandon vehicle. I know where one is at an apartment complex that the Manager said has been there for weeks and she said I could have at then kick the rest to the street and let the city deal with it. I don't feel like stripping a car that isn't mine and isn't postivly "Abandoned".

How would a flowmaster work with this? And what about the Cat? I've heard just put a cherry bomb on it?

Hello. I have an EA81 engine. Is there any tips/tricks to get better air intake?

Will that kind of amperage fry anything? I've heard of people getting the wrong Alternator (a 90amp when it was supposed to be a 60) and it fried the battery and a couple other electrical components.

I have an 3AT 1983 Soob GL. When I put the 5spd tranny D/R in will i need to get a different flywheel?

Does anyone have complete or almost complete instructions or tips for the swap.
