  1. Ooooops I'm stoooopid!! Missed the title .. I dunno about running it in 4wd. It's going to break something... If it was a rear axle, you could run it in fwd all day long, but front... Your diff has to be screaming. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's not a good idea.
  2. Uh..... No. Do not cut shaft and drive in 4wd. If it was a dire circumstance... In the middle of nowhere with Zombies at your heels ....then yes! Everyday for who knows how long before you have the $$ NO! You will end up with more problems than you bargained for and spending more $$ to fix. You need to save the cash and get a new rebuilt axle, good used hub, and "new" washer/come set. Spounds like the axle nut was loose for a while. Oh! You need to tell everyone what your and model your car is, any mods?? Info... Info.... Maybe someone has something they could sell you.
  3. Everything I find says...take nut off and remove clutch. Do I have to remove the clutch plate first. Can I use a puller to pull the..pulley and plate in one shot?? Anyone done this?
  4. I have taken the bolt off and tried to pry the clutch plate off, it doesn't budge. Any one know how to remove it?? Is it threaded??
  5. What ever is attached to the wiring in there is loose.. That's why I'm hoping that if I can get the clutch plate off and pulley, I can figure out what going on in there.
  6. Yeah, the idler pully is in ggod shape, replaced that bearing a while ago. I'm thinking it has something to do with the clutch/magnet? I can grab the wires that go into gap between the pulley and compressor and move it back and forth.
  7. I'm trying to remove the ac clutch on my 93 Loyale. I have searched USMB and Google and found nothing. I had put in a rebuilt compressor about a year + ago and it was working great, for 3mo. Then it started making some rattling noises and then it progressively got worse and began to squeal, Compressor would turn then catch and rotate, and catch. To the point I could not use it anymore. I don't have leak, have tested with gauge. If I get the info I'm looking for can I remove the clutch and replace without decompressing the system? Oh by the way the shop that put it in is now out of business.... Dumb question??? Or just replace the whole compressor??? * I forgot to add that the ground wire going to the clutch broke off from the inside. So I was thinking if I can get it part, I could see what is going on.*
  8. Oh ggod!! I will try again. I appreciate you letting me know.
  9. This guy still around?? He was offering PDF's for EA82 lifts. I have messaged him, but ... has not answered. Just want to know if anyone knows if he still does it, I don't want to keep bugging him, if he has nothing to do with it anymore. Sorry to be pest
  10. You guys get the cool stuff!! Wonder if it was offered in the states. Gives an idea... Maybe I'll try to make my own. Where is the pump located in the engine compartment? * edit: does it use the same pump as the windsheild?? *
  11. Padawan, what is the small thing on your bumper in front of the headlight? Is it a headlight washer?
  12. Did you try moving the wiring harness around a little with the key in on position ? Like I had mentioned before my engine wiring harness connector was not fully secured, and when I moved the wire loom back and forth I would hear clicking from under the dash and in engine compartment. I thought it was a bad wire, it would somes start and then die....or not at all. I would move wiring again and it would start. Until I pushed plug fully into position ... I had no spark and if I remember correctly no fuel, also.
  13. I hate to ask the age old question.... But have you checked the distributor rotor to see if the set screw has backed out...?? And actually try to rotate it, * by hand* if the screw is backed out it will turn freely and screw will be at the bottom of the distributor.
  14. Double check the engine wiring harness connector. By the coil . the larger on the two. I had worked on my car once and did not push the connector all the way. As soon as I pushed it till it clicked, it ran fine, just a thought
  15. Try here for bushings sales@obtusa.com Amir (914) 302-2431 He has owned older Subaru's was a great help. Here some part numbers they gave me for what I was looking for. Ea82 control arm kit SPF1691K. Trailing arm complete bushing kit SPF1144K
  16. I changed mine out on my 93 Loyale after my timing belt broke. It happened just a couple of weeks after I bought it, since I did not know the history go the car and being paranoid.... And I was in there any way. My new oil pump came with both senders, not big deal it just fills the hole. Just leave it in place.
  17. I have never had luck with using the valve cover gasket. I use permatex only, not only as a gasket but I put a bead on the flange of the bolt and inside part of the grommets. It may still seep but not drip... The drivers side is tight, might want to loosen the motor mount a lift it a bit to try get more clearance.
  18. I'm pissed at myself!! I was the main harness connector the whole time!!!!! Loose it was....not making contact. I knew it was something simple.. Duh!! I need to get a new connector
  19. I have a 93 Loyale w/ SPFI 183,00+ miles. After changing timing belts and head gaskets ( this is not my first rodeo), the car does not start. It will only fire after pouring gas down intake. What I have done so far.... Tested injector and if I did that correctly only had an ohm reading of .1 I have since replaced with new injector and now I can see fuel on the butterfly, which I didn't see before and there is not a lot just wet. I have replaced ecu with known working one, changed disty, and had to replace coil due to oil leakage. There has been no change... I can hear clicking when turning disty back and forth by hand with key on, and I assume that it's ok. I hear fuel pump cycle and fuel in making it to the injector ( took injector out and watched fuel fill injector bowl ) There are the typical clicks when turning key on. I have also changed the resistor below the coil. Pisses me off car ran great then this... It's been 4days since I got back together, I need to step back, drink heavily
  20. Just turn head upside and let sit, for a few hours. Most should just fallout on there own. Not to say that I didn't have a bastard that didn't come out without persuasion.
  21. 93 loyale 4wd wagon 181232 miles. I'm going to throw a b-day party at 200,000 Love it!!!
