  1. bought a 1995 awd , 2.2 a/t lsi sedan , 174,000mi , it goes into drive good and shifts good, but after warmed up it takes a alittle time for it to go into reverse, no weird noise , besides changing the fluid , what else could i change ? any help.

  3. same noise on the 97 outback 2.2 , the owner before , new resurfaced heads, hg, timing belt, water pump , pullies, drove it 200 miles and started to make noise in motor, i took drivers side timing belt cover off , timing belt new and ok, noise seems to come from around oil pump area, started it removered plug wire no difference in noise, noise gets louder if i rev the motor up ,

  5. did you use a oem thermostat ? could have a air pocket , i just did a timing belt job and changed the thermostat + hoses + water punmp had the same problem you did , so i changed the thermostat again but used a oem
  6. i use a code reader, any auto parts store has one, and will read it for free,
  7. wear safety glasses when changing fuel filter, pull it outside it will loose alittle gas [ smell garage up] make sure you put it the right way on, real easy, i always spray ailttle pb blaster on the fittings to loosen the hoses, will be fairly tight ,if you use pliers be careful not to put a hole in the line,as far as the belts i would
  8. a body shop close by got nailed for not replacing a door on a cop car , instead repairing the door and charging for a new one,
  9. well it all depends on what else is wrong, but i offered 250 and have not heard back , alot of good parts, alum rims, new tires, new axles, interior good, ,

  14. afriend of mine with a 84 brat a/t ,ea81 motor , carb, he bought a different gas tank [ used], but good shape, his problem is it is vapor locking ,,new fuel filters, different canister , ,he can only drive it with the gas cap real loose, , if the cap is tight the truck will hardly start, he switched the lines still the same thing, any help ??
  15. just wondering if there is crap like that in any of the diffs in my legacy's, wondering if putting a magnetic plug would catch this ?
  16. ok, where is a good vacuum hose on a ej22 to do this ? though the idle air control ?
  17. can you drill a hole in the rear bearing housing and put a grease insert ,or better to put in self sealed bearing , and can you still buy them ? thanks

  19. this might be a dumb question , but has she changed driving habits, meaning shorter trips , more idling, both my subaru's are 2.2 1 is 95 other 1 is a 97 , the 95 gets around 22-23- mpg, the 97 gets 24-25 mpg, and both have 170,000mi om them , i have done everything possible to the 95 to get better mpg, , but i make short trips with it,
