max boost ea82t??
My experience... stock turbo, top mount saab 900 IC. All at the dragway. Ran 20 or so runs at around 15-17psi no problems. Ran 1 run at about 22psi - headgasket keep in mind this is only 1/4 mile runs. no title, etc. so no street info.

Favorite Subaru Feature.....
I am in and out of a fleet of about 150 '05-'06 vehicles, and almost none of them turn the lights off with the key... obv my favorite feature is the lights off with the key. Its an homage to Subaru that I'd rather jump in my 292k mile legacy at the end of the day, as opposed to some new peice of garbage.

Great Day for a Family Picture!
@the garage the other day. I meant to get a good 'family photo' but oh well. Bro's '93 turbo loyale, my 86 XT turbo, junk Isuzu going to j/y, mom's outback, my red wagon, dad's legacy, dad's other legacy (for sale), customer 3000gt, customer SVX. [just out of frame customer '92 Supra turbo] My Bros GT and my wagon this easter morning.

How is the Wastegate controlled?
The wastegate is opened by boosted air in that vacuum hose you describe. That hose is tee'd off from the pressurized end of the intake, so when the turbo spools up, the pressure builds in that hose. That pressurized air then pushes a diaphragm (which is resisted by a spring). The diaphragm pushes that rod and opens the wastegate. anyone else, feel free to elaborate/correct me on that

90 legacy - trim removal.
mattyg41383 replied to mattyg41383's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI was reading about it over at legacycentral. One of the members did a real good job of doing his sedan. Removed the trim pieces, sanded them down as best as possible. Laid on some primer, then light coats of black, then thick coats of black, and some clear coat. It looked good. I was going to do mine yesterday, but after peeking behind the inside trim and seeing those posts, I definately didnt have the patience to take all the inside trim out. It'll get done soon, and Ill take pics.

90 legacy - trim removal.
Hey, I'm going to be repainting the zebra striped (black and chrome, you know what Im talking about fellow legacy owners) trim piece above the doors that runs the length of the wagon. I'm hoping you can tell my how to get that piece off without breaking it.

Flatout Head gaskets
The guy from that place got back to me. He said dont even try their gaskets with high boost without O-ringing the block, and I really dont want to have to send it out to the machine guys and have to spend more money. So it looks like I will be going the OE route. The thing is, this is going on my non-street drag car, so I'm going to be throwing some high boost at it. The current gasket is one run from disaster, but given the fact that the car sat for like 4 years then was seriously flogged, I cant really complain. I just dont want to be "that guy" and blow up on the track and cause an hour delay. I landed a free TD05-h turbo that i might try to fit in there. The poor stocker cant keep up on the top end, so it is time to go bigger. My bro has a T3 that he is going to rig up to his turbo loyale.

Flatout Head gaskets
I just placed an inquiry with Flatout about a set of copper headgaskets for the ea82t. I was just wondering if anyone on here has used them and has any stories to tell. Or any recommendations for a good high-power headgasket. Too bad we dont have an extra $10k sitting around for cometics, right Will.

Chevy/GMC 6 lugs. Would these fit?
So the hole pattern on these is 140?? I am under the impression that you just pop 2 more holes and it'll fit on the 4 lug hubs. This would be perfect to do, becuase I have a pair of 15" tires that are coming off my Legacy tomorrow (i got some new g-force sports) that I could use if this is the case. They'd go on my fwd XT.

Why do *YOU* prefer old gens?
First off, I only need to say 2 letters "XT". I've thumped integras, mustangs, civics, etc on the track with a $250 project. Secondly, there used to be a rusted out brat down at my dad's shop when I was like 7, me and my bro used to sit in the jump seats becase they were cool.

Final MLM HG announcement
Will, what was your experience with the copper gaskets... the HGs on my xt are starting to get bad, so I was thinking of getting coppers made for my rebuild, but if they arent good, then I have to look elsewhere.

1997 Legacy Outback Headlight replacement
mattyg41383 replied to muzeeshun's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes, that switch on the column is just for the parking lights. As far as i know, there isnt a way to have headlights on without the keys... unless you were to rig something up.

Thrush muffler?
I used to have a Thrush glasspack on my dragger, no cat. It sounded nice... I think my brother put it on his race wagon. I since moved on to a Dynomax Race Bullet muffler, bolted right onto a 2.5" downpipe, pretty loud but legal at the track.

Aftermarket Steering Wheel
(search didnt give me any answers) I was browsing ebay and am now thinking about putting an aftermarket steering wheel into my '90 Legacy. Have any of you done this? Do I have to get a hub adapter, or does that look like a direct fit? I havent done anything to my car lately, so its about time i got her a gift. thanks for any input... obv its an STi knockoff, but i dont care

XT drag car
Ive seen pics of that before like a year or two ago, there were 2 from the side. I might have them on my comp at home, so over break Ill get to look. If its the same one I recall seeing S/G on the side window, which to those who dont know is Super Gas, the 9.90s class. It had a big cowl hood which made me think Chevy/Ford V8. If someone find better info, Id love to see it ***EDIT*** I just went into that site some more, CAPA makes supercharger kits and whatnot. That picture was taken at the LS1 nationals. So our friend tore up a chevy/ponti/holden for the goods.
