Thanks for the info kevin, I'm still concerned about the springs, as I would be going with the big grind, and dont want the springs to bind or anything like that. I mean, if its not necessary to change them, then I would be more than happy to hear that.

I am thinking of the big 272 grind, so looks like I'll need to get springs and whatnot. Any recommendations on where i can get some to satisfy the new bump rod.
-
WOW, if thats the case (40% loss) then I'm getting 233HP at the crank. (35%=215 ; 30%=200) 14.9sec @ 93mph, 2360lbs = 140HP to the ground 140HP / 0.6 = 233HP. **The 5spd conversion looks nice right now, but one off the ea82 line wont hold, cause my Bro's car just slips it unmercifully... I cannot wait till the track opens up in spring, April 3 to be exact.

To all you who have put Delta's reground cams in your subis, did you go ahead and replace the Lifters and Springs as recommended. I am seriously considering getting some done (EA82t) and want to know what its gonna end up costing me with all that stuff considered. I'm going to go with the performance grind cause its a track car. *edit* I searched but didnt find much on that stuff specifically

hmm, 60% loss = 350hp to the crank in my little beast, lol... seriously, anyone know a reasonable # for the loss through the slush box??? I know that a stock 5spd clutch wont hold because we have the same setup in another car that had a brand new one, and it slips a lot. So a conversion would mean $$, which i dont have.

The other way being discussed, (not WJMs, hes right), is adding on 30% of the Wheel HP, which isnt the same as 30% of the Crank HP... ya see. lol Therefore by doing WHP/0.7 is indeed correct. Also, anyone have a ballpark # for what the loss is through the 3AT 2WD tranny. I was thinking 25%

I know what you're saying man. Over at the dragway, I get a lot of curious people asking about / complementing me on the XT. And when that happens Im glad to tell them about it and what i did, and point out that i only spent $200 to run 14s. But there are always a lot of kids who walk by and laugh, with their popped collars and Honda keychains. Sure my car doesnt look like a million buck, but it's put a spankin on its fair share of cars. Ive found a way to make some power without just relying on the wallet and APC/AEM.

Sick flamed loyale wagon

Yeah, its trailered. He's gonna put it on the scales next time to the track... passenger and rear seats are out, as well as any excess stuff. He put it together for something to mess with until his '70 Nova is done (475HP). -

Those wheels arent one of my pics, i think it might be the next alphabetical members' or something. But anyways. '93 loyale Engine = '85 turbo 4WD manual 15psi 2.5" downpipe... thats it Saab 900 intercooler, custom fabbed tubing, hood scoop to cool it. K&N cone filter gutted interior HKS blow off valve Ive got pretty much the same setup on my auto XT and it ran 14.91 \m/att PS - hes got a T3 turbo hes gonna put on it as well. -
I just realized that I have these pics on my computer and I hadnt posted them yet. This is my brother's '93 Loyale wagon drag race beast. With a horribly slipping clutch, he ran 15.2sec in the quarter. I realized i dont know how to post pics into a message, but my page that has the pics is... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?mcats=500&si=&what=allfields&name=mattyg41383&when=1&whenterm=d (also my dads 68 camaro and bros 70 nova)

161 Awhp, 206 Awtq!!!!!!!!!!
mattyg41383 replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, Im gonna put in my entry to the contest in May as soon as the track opens up. My best time last year was a 14.91sec @ 93 mph... and i screwed up the start on that run... those numbers put the car around 144HP at the wheels. Im sure I can knock a couple tenths off that. And I've only dropped about $200 (two hundred ) dollars for the entire project. -
How much power can EA82T stand?

Thats cool, let me know how it works. I went on the Gtech website and it said they made those starting in 1994, but if the technology works then thats great. We're definately not ones to dislike something cause its older -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7944243430&category=46100 Im seeing these on eBay, and was wondering if this is what you got? If that is a reliable unit, I'd definately pick one of them up for myself. Any opinions of these would be cool. The dragstrip doesnt open until May, so I gotta have something to play around with. -
Sure glad I had an old 4WD Subaru today!

Are there any companies out there that make shift kits for either a '90 legacy 2wd auto, or an '85 xt turbo auto. Any info or leads would be helpful, thanks. \m/att

Acceleration Techniques for AT transmission?
mattyg41383 replied to Phaedras's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The valve body change caught my eye. Can the valvebody be changed on a 3AT out of an '85 XT turbo fwd? I use it for drag racing on a tiny budget, and i think a faster shift would really help a lot, becuase it seems to lollygag between gears. If so, any ideas where i can pick one up? \m/att -
I stopped by cars101.com, and they had some good information as far as what was included in the GT package for the 1994. I think most notably is the "body kit" and the raised roof. I couldnt find any specific production numbers, but on a way old nasioc post someone said that of the 4 special legacy models in 1994, there were like 1000 awd and 900 fwd (thats not official though). matt
