im working on my car without a garage, basically on a parling lot like in front of a mall really. I cant say how mutch i want a garage to work in though, but its possible. you can take it to a mechanic and get a quote of course, and they may tell you what it needs to be fixed. -

still cant get the water pump off and it needs to come off to take out the piston pins. i really doubt it was rich because it got great gas mileage often times in the mid 30s -
has anyone stuck some of the ea82 heads on a flowbench and see what they do? I would be curious what the effect larger valves and mild porting do, especially on the exhaust side.

sounds like its your first time pulling an auto engine. your supposed to be able to reach through an access hole at the bottom of the flexplate and unbolt it first. now that its off go ahead and replace the seal though. just fill the tranny like normal and it will work out just keep it topped off. what are you doing a rebuild? -
What could be a better tow vehicle than a brat?

a cherokee will do that and have power to pass people getting there. -
im not really a fan of the water cooled turbos anyway. they arent used anymore and are obsolete. new designs are more efficient and improved. must have been running horrible to be that oily looking though.

so I foind out that my main really bad leak was the rear main seal. the clutch looked new and in fact said made in china on it. tsk tsk. but the whole of the bellhousing was covered in oil. why are all the seals in my engine super brittle and hard? the valve cover ones crumbled in my hand when i took them off. every seal looked 100% shot. -
so i took out the blower motor and indeed there were leaves and stuff in the fins. but do you really reach throgh the hole to the evaporator to clean it out? i cant see the darn thing through it.
-
what did you set the timing at? that can make a big diffrence. also have you rebuilt the carb recently?
-
whats an easy way to access it? I have seen leaves come out of my vents and im sure it needs it.
-
hows the power now? does it feel realy sluggish? is the engine running very smoothly?

i was afraid it was about my dead loyale. I was freaking out when i saw it on my caller ID. but he just wanted to know if i was thinking of moving out because someone wanted to move in. what a relief. I know he doesnt care about things like that unless the city compains to him.
