  1. too mutch oil pressure can on some more primitive cars break the oil pump driveshaft by the amount of power needed to make that pressure. other than that no. that sounds fine except for the leak.
  2. i used a XT muffler and modded it to work heres what i started with
  3. I just got an exhaust today on my car. my muffler had rust off, and i was driving around with straight pipe. i got a dual outlet muffler installed the power curve is moved a touch lower by the seat of the pants meter. but the mileage took a dip. I would never want another straight pipe sounds AWFUL and noisy, not like a v12 with a straight pipe like a POS. I took pics, they are still on my camera but I lost the cable bottom line just a muffler wont make it fast. maybe you need a turbo or XT4 engine. Id want the XT4 engine for its better intake manifold and dual ports.
  4. you shouldnt have drums either
  5. you just cant set timing like that. it will run better if you set it as per the sticker under the hood
  6. I think the superlites come in all sizes. looks a lot better now.
  7. actually ford in all thier wisdom have several current ATF fluids. mercon, mercon V some i forgot like type F for older fords honda has thier own theres surely others that have specialized fluids. the fluid quality is less important than its properly cooled.
  8. thank you. im hoping someone will jump in with the actual numbers
  9. is the steering ratio in one the same as my car?
  10. its salvageable at that stage id get the engine hot tanked to remove the bulk of filth. id install new valve seats, pitted valve seats are bad for power. the cylinders, well it depends if the rings left any mark from sitting on them. honestly id use it if there was some personal value to it.
  11. are you using a real oil filter?
  12. it will look gross like when jeremy clarkson painted the 928 on top gear
  13. and an embarassing educational expirence if it didnt.
  14. what would one gain from this? sounds like the paint would have to be really thin for it to work.
  15. this is a bad idea because there really is very little flow in this.
  16. i like your project. are you including a rollcage? im under the impression that these cars may not be as safe as the bigger ones.
  17. i was thinking of taking a tailpipe expander to the area. can anyone think of any reason I shouldnt?
  18. i think its got a stuck in the 80's interior. if you can live with that it can be a nice car.

  20. i notice that this is a pretty common option. does it come on with the windscreen washers? or is it a seprate switch
