someone on here already makes a lift kit for these my question is why would you want to change the rear suspension? keep the same wheel offset and your fine maybe go with a 0 offset or negative that way the wheels stick out 2 advantages to this one the car is wider so more stability and 2 moves everything away from the wheel

EA71 sputtering above idle
bonvo replied to talldude's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
sounds like what im dealing with i have a dead spot in the throttle i know its the accel pump though cause the entire ignition system is new the fuel system has been gone threw and the carb rebuilt it these carbs are not good they have a bad rap for a reason there just isnt enough accel pump to make it happy though im gonna try adjusting my voltage regulator my charge light is dimly lit it has enough voltage to keep the battery charged though -
now seriously considering just selling this considering no one seems to want to trade

EA71 water pump correct application

the problem your running into is the fact they changed the way the cooling system was set up on the later engines to be completely internal the earlier engines had the cast aluminum passage the bolted to the 2 block halves and the water pump where as the later engines had them being completely internal i might have the pump you need in my parts that im looking to sell -

not sure if i mentioned this here or not but the car stopped running last summer i checked the compression and only had 60 psi i did the oil test and when the numbers came up i thought it was worn rings but yesterday i got bored and found that the intake valves were waaaaaaaay to tight so now its running once again!

well went to put it back together today and the second i went to tighten down the 8mm that holds the fan on it splits in half again so i went and bought some apoxy made specificly for plastic and it has double the strength of the stuff i used before so im hoping that this will solve the issue

thanks man yeah my dad is awesome he has been in the business for 35+ years and has been teaching me since i was old enough to hold a wrench then after highschool i went to school for automotive repair but on a job as big as an engine rebuild i wanted to be sure i did it right since i had never done it before so he assisted and now when i go to do the datsun engine it will be a solo gig as for big guys driving them i drive it because its 4wd and it snows here team that with bitchin mileage and its a win win situation though if someone had an rx or an xt i would trade my goon for one as long as the conditions were similar
