What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
^^Great pic!^^ Cleaned and crowned her(spare), got the old KC fogs on, the shiny shaggy seat covers went on clearance, so I can stop worrying so much about my pretty nice seats 'pimpin' it

The plate doesn't fit the factory studs? I did an ea81 with no tapping and used a redline plate, but I guess I thought you were going to use the TransDapt rig, which is what I used on my ea82 (Much better adapter w/no threads). *(Remembering) -Actually the ea81 I did was using an ea82/Hitachi manifold, so same, same...

what are you tapping? I have never tapped any holes for a carb swap...?

wagon wheel center cap tricks or tips?
I am working on getting center caps to dress up my redrilled 15" wheels. Don't think I have ever seen this plastic part -I'd like to see if it could be used for this.(I ran caps on my hatch without any plastic.) Can someone post a pic of this part? -I searched the web and I can buy them, but no one selling them shows a pic.

My friend (whom I talked into buying an 86 wagon) started having carb issues, so I helped him rebuild the Hitachi. It still wasn't acting right -and still needed the choke fixed, So... I gave him the Hitachi I rebuilt just before my Weber swap -we just transplanted the top of my carb onto his real quick, and it's much better!
-
Does this look like a good Weber to rebuild?
Excellent decision -exactly how my hitachi idle thread ended, too. I also got a lot of satisfaction out of dismantling that pita system after my battle!

Does this look like a good Weber to rebuild?
I would request a pic looking down in from the top so you can see the bore, jets, etc. & how funky it is...probably a good deal if it's not banged/scraped up -hopefully it's cleaner on the inside!

^Agreed, the secondary will try to open when you load the motor, like stepping in a bit around 25mph would get it bucking and sucking, and flatten the bowl. Very easy to do consistently. +1 on getting stuck on the lobe, or something with that stupid double vacuum Hitachi system. Try to disable the choke vac, spray some cleaner in that. Also, inspect the hose connecting the back of the carb to the front (-it's on the pass. side) it will suck air at a certain stage if it's not airtight.

Does it seem like this is happening when the secondary is trying to open?

Rewiring my radio again, my dash wiring has some mysteries I'm still solving...Turned my stock tape deck into an aux jack, only fried 2 radios in the process!

My '92 Loyale: Safariwagon
I was referring to the plastic and such on the pillars, I'm sure the steel wasn't changed. Just didn't know if the slots and junk would matter or just be unsightly. Or maybe you could leave that and put a tiny racecar on there to run up & down

My '92 Loyale: Safariwagon
Do you change pillars and stuff to do the seat belts, or do you just leave that stuff there?

An observation and questions on blower motor switch (3d gen)
My off switch doesn't work -it diverts the air to the dash somehow. The fan resistor is shot but works on 3 & 4. Haven't been able to get the old one out yet, one of the screws is all rusty. Is "off" a function of the resistor pack, or the switches, or some combination?

Cruise control install, does anyone have a diagram?
I Am Cruising! Strangest thing...or not -I don't know but I think I am smarter now. Put my dash back together since I wasn't really getting anywhere parked, (no pun intended) Went for a drive to play with it -nothing. So I tried the horn to check the fuse -instead of the horn the seat belt light lit! Hazard light made the sb light go on, too, no hazards, weird. Don't know if that is by design, but I put a good fuse in and all is normal there. There is something odd about this dealer hookup, not having a master switch, and I got a clue when trying to pin out the harness, -(I won't go into it) after thinking my switch was shorting,or whatever else, trying every combination, I decided it has to do with the sequence of switching: The Set switch will Not set cruise if the last switch used was Coast. I was able to consistently play with set, acc, coast, acc, etc, as long as I did not go back to set after coast -had to flip it to acc first -not long enough to accelerate, just to reset the system somehow. Anyhow, cruisin' is the shizz! Thanks for the help and hope this gets others cruising, as well.
