  2. Had a look mine has a black with white stripe to ig realy power feed a green with red stripe to ig feed for relays and ecu a light green with grey dots is feul pump realy signal wire. The rest is burryed in tape but i cant belive how small thiss harness is half the size of cut down 2.2 wire harness on mine the tcu vdcu and in cluster are gone just ecu and wires to engine rest gone and thiss engine ran two years offroad no problems. Pick the curcut that you think is giving you grief and i will check it for you.
  3. piston slap if was rod it whould not last that long time the oil light how many millaseconds it takes to go out will tell you haw bad it is I have 3 rod knocking cars here right now and its violent I can hear the piston hitting head wack wack whole car shakes and can barly move it pull dipstick is sparkly. Alo have a 2.2 that was ran outa oil and refilled and restarted knocks very bad till oil light gos out then trys to fix itself but to far gone same deal barly runs and shakes whole car very violent. I bet yours is just piston slap a rod does not get better as it warms up
  4. If i had a 1$ for every deadbeat i pulled out i whoud not have to work anymore
  5. watch for meatal debrie inside the rocker shaft tubes like to hide there is difacult to clean out
  6. Had a broken head bolt on ej 2.2 other day was 3 in of bolt in case was no way to save it had to change block one out of 100 but very diffacult to deal with. I had tried to run a ea81 with ej 2.2 pistons i bored the block to the 2.2 piston size but was not enuff liner left but the 2.0 pistons are very close. And i dont think running without a wristpin bushing whould be a problem as its a floating pin
  7. i can look at my cutdown harness and check wires for you is still hooked to motor so could even power it up i do have some pinouts for 3.0 but limeted. I do know the wiring is not same as other harness i have done
  8. boy does she run good ran it up the road a few times my brakes cant hold it back anymore hitt 2nd gear and ranouta room left 30 ft of rubber trying to stop. Put a smile on my face that for shure
  9. pull dipstick look at it in sun for shiny bits in oil any is rods
  10. pistons are different on jdm motor have taller crowns that go up into the combustion chamber i did run one of those engines on a 98 outback wire harness worked good but had no vvt
  11. glad i live were i do havent had to take the keys outof my cars in years and no one breaks into a justy they think if hes driven that he an't got anything worth stealing
  12. Have you checked the alarm ecu antitheft curcit it had to be powered or jumped cant remember i have two of those engines on ground and one harness that works. Do you have voltage on + side of injectors ? and have you tried a niod light to check for pulse ?
  13. So triped over a 2.5D kicked a 2.2 pushed uota the way a 2.51 and another one climbed over a 2.5d to get the justy engine outa the way so could move the 2.51 to install the 2.51 man way to many engines in my shop !
  14. on the old brat i used a crome bumper bolt with slot cut in it to hold them on looks good and will not fall off
  15. i built the exhaust xover yesterday spent a cupple hours die grindering out the inside of it to smooth it out and increase the size of ports. I also used ultra copper sillacon on front of oil pan to keep heat away from pan and also did the lower part of timing cover last one melted. I think on turbo engines the front of oil pan gets cooked hard anyway going to try and install it tonight
  16. i chased the bad ecu for months checked every wire every senser over and over changed ecu started right up
  17. did he just put turbo on na engine and break the piston ring lands ? comp test
  18. To do that whould have to get hot enuff to melt the plastic covers look at them for shigns of melting if melted probly cooked if not is probly ok and comp test it see what it has
  19. I had problems with one in buggy the ecu was not working had burnt a trace when i was working on wire harness the sensers are tough but ecu is very sensitive on that one and the wire coulours are all diferent than subarus are normaly. I do have a working 3.0 wire harness out if you need me to look at wires to see what they are for. I bet somthing is not conected in right spot or ecu thinks car is being stolen had a wire for anti theft ecu shutdown or imoblizer had to be fooled to run. Also is it posibble that you have no injector grounds or engine grounds ?
  20. engine is compleate ready to go in cant wait to hear it
  21. + 1 missing GDs posts howbout beating them honda guys up with a justy my turbo one is stupid fast it weighs nothing 1rst 3rd 5th gone. and gives you the satisfaction of wasting people with a 3 cly
