  1. ooh i forgot to add: tried a different MAF and TPS also have checked the injectors too
  2. i pulled everything out of the RX and put it in the wagon...there was no splicing or matching involved as i use the rx dash wiring, clluster, etc.. as well
  3. Symtoms: car will only start when it's cold...it will idle fine(sometimes), you can "move" it but you have to keep the revs high and it feels like it has 30hp, real boggy.. other times the idle will fluxuate between 2k and like 400! up and down almost ready to die(which it usually does)...once you turn it off it will not start back up unless you wait like 6 hours..the computer is throwing codes for nearly everything.. Motor: EA82 turbo, spider intake, new HG, and the heads are in awesome shape. new timming belts and timming set correctly, all new seals. RX wirring harness and ECU Actions taken: replaced hot cams with stock cams the fix the variable compression issue. replaced thermo unit tried a stock intake manifold, so rule out bad sensors on the top end Whats left to try: try a different ECU so please throw out some suggestions as this car has made quite a few people pull their hair out... and yes i have lubed the muffler bearings!
  4. i don't know... .john allready solved the "variable compression" issue and installed new cams. a stock intake monifold did not change anything, next i guess i need to swap out ECU's to see if thats the problem... im going to start a seperate trouble shooting thread
  5. a combination of wet floormats/rain that got inside + it sitting for the past couple months
  6. yeah i snuck that in the pic one of the few things i kept off that RX
  7. as most of you saw at WCSS6 the tailights on my wagon were all translucent candy red... since i liked it soo much i decided to do it to the coupe... decided to do it a few shades darker so it took a coulple nights. here's the pics
  8. i see them around, granted not as often as EA82's
  9. well i don't really care about the front seats. i might try washing th rear..and the carpet, I allready cut into....it needed to be replaced anyway.
  10. well i got my wagon towed to day....as some of you know the interior of my car was sweaty and growing its own mold forest...it's on everything let me tell ya the pictures do not do it justice..and it is very wet inside since its been "sweating" the past months. i picked up a vapor mask and some golves and dove into it. so so far i removed all the trash/objects from the car. i pulled out the seats..ive tore up all the carpeting too..it's all going in the trash. tom. going to chuck the seatbelts and some other random pieces as well. Scrubing everything down with bleach..hopefully this will be able to get rid of it all. as mold can be very dangerous to a person..here's a couple pics...if anyone has any suggestions regarding cleanup i wouldn't mind hearing them..my steps are:throw everything out, scub down with bleach, air out, rebuild
  11. i would 2nd the vote for getting a hot rod ea81 engine from RAM...if your car is an 86 hatch..if its an 86 wagon then you have a different engine
  12. whats not in the factory location that you need to find/run: constant 12v to the deck, you can splice in at the ignition... you can also use the test light to find the haedlight hot for your dimer i just suggest running new speaker wires from the deck to the speakers whats there already: use test light to find 12v keyed on ground
  13. take the revs up to 6500 then instantly let out the clutch
  14. nah..i just started in today.... once i get to the fiberglass i will post pics of the build up
  15. hahahah i had to fix the pic....sorry for the ones who saw my "man-ness" while i was wearing sweatpants
  16. well since i have alot of free time, and my dremel back, i decide to start my grill project. still have alot of fiberglass, bondo, and sanding to do. here's a quick pic to see what a badgeless rx grill would llok like.. they look like this.. I cut out the emblem with about 2in of the slat on each side then form another 2dr grill i cut out the middle slat big enough to sill the opening. it's my first time trying this, so i got alot of gap to fill...
  17. #1 Yes #3 yes #4 YES #5 you could do it but i suggest getting parts from a lowridder mailorder type place. run you own lines, compresser, vavles, switches #6 Hell no
  18. its the 4wd for dirt, mud, snow, sand, gravel, etc
  19. you didn't offend me..i just wanted to comment.. I just wanted to point out. if that unexpeirenced kid had happend to loose control of his car he could have hurt someone bad . now you are liable. you will face criminal charges and lawsuits the will end up in very high 6 figure settlements. you'r insuraance will only cover so much..anything beyond that amount you would be acounted for...it would suck to go to jail and then have 400,000 dollar debt. even claiming bankruptcy will not fully wipe your slate clean. it's even worse if you are younger..even if your over 18, if your parents bought your car, pay your insurance(basically any support to you) then they can also be held liable... the only reason i am saying this is i have been involved in a case were someone inoccent got hurt and i had no direct cause in the accident..2 years of my life were ruined to do all the stess from that..investigation, courts, etc...which also ending up in a larger settlemnt against me... al i say is that it was some thing that i would never think could happen to me, but it did
  20. i don't think racing on streets should be bragged about or posted on the board.. it puts innocent people in danger. i have had people in my life including myself be invovled when cars are speeding each other on the roads. plain and simple it = death, jail time, and lawsuits just my .02
  21. i would belive that subaru just ween'd out the RX struts...i highly doubt you can order them anymore.. OASN I heard they stop manufacturing 2wd xt6 front struts
