  1. backing up was not an option! I just got my food from the 2nd window! the puddle (lake Wendy) was in front of me with nowhere to go! I couldn't back up because of the 12+ consumers behind me. The entire front parking lot was underwater. I should just call and complain and try to get alot of food out of it instead. I like those spicy chix sands.
  2. Cold weather can just make things not operate properly. Like humans for example. It makes us slow and lazy. Same applies to your Roo. The selenoid is just having a hard time getting out of bed. Thow the electic blanket over it and hit the snooze bar. Maybe yall should consider getting an automatic start so it will be warmed up when you get to your car in the AM. Just a though... You could also move to Hurricane alley A.K.A Florida
  3. I bought an 87 GL-10 with the D/R 4WD when I lived in Colorado from a police auction. That was a bad mamba jamba.....
  4. Never get an alt from the salvage yard. I went through 4 (in 2 weeks) untill I finally broke down and bought a new one from Advance for $120.00. It's cool though because the yard gave me my lift coils for my jeep for my trouble. Saved me about $120.00 Needless to say I am a happy man. Except for thatr darn knock sensor getting wet and giving me a CEL.
  5. Thanks Josh. I am going to do that. Would it be safe to cover it in silicone just to be on the cautious side? My Roo sees alot of water. Thanks for the input from everone. We are getting back to normal down here. I think everyone has their power back. We were without it for 11 days. Oh the things in life we take for granted. Never again....
  6. I went through another large puddle in my subaru and the CEL came on with a code 42. Knock sensor. Why? I will clear it outr tommorow morn but if I hit anothr puddle it comes back. Anybody ever heard of this? How can I fix it? New sensor and lots of silicone? Please advise.
  7. I do laugh but my wallet isn't laughing. I am now without my car for 2 days and that is 2 days I can't go to work. $20.00 an hour for 16 hours. Kinda puts a hurtin on my wallet too. I think wendys should have taken measures to drain the puddle (more like a lake that takes up half their parking lot) this time and do what they can to try to prevent it in the future. Maybe a nice small claims lawsuit would teach them a lesson. And like I said, "once you are in line there you have no idea this puddle is there and you have no way of backing up due to the ammount of cars behind you. Does anybody think I am right? Thanks
  8. There was no way around the puddle...it was at the end of the drive through lane and there was about 12 cars behind me. Still think it was my fault?
  9. Today in FL we recieved a vary large amount of flooding. My wife and I were going to the place to get something to eat, so we pull into the drive thru and place our order, get our food and then drive into what seems to be the black hole of all puddles. The car seemed to run fine through it but when we got a little closer to home the car started to overheat. When we arrived at our castle we noticed a large hole in our radiator from what looks to be the fan striking it. Does anybody think the water could have done this? If so do you think the fast food establishment should foot the bill? Any advise on this matter would be much appreciated. AWD does no good if the engine can't be used....
  10. The only problem you are going to run into is with the MAF Sensor. Some People have fabed up custom plates so you can retain your MAF. Look around...
  11. rallitek.com sells a turbo kit for the legacy. Just hold on to your old Trubo leg and use it for a RAT. You could try to find a Turbo legacy that has a toasted engine and drop yours in. Just a thought..
  12. I dont know about your car but mine says what gear I am in on the guage cluster. I rarely look at the console.
  13. Turn off the switch on top of the steering wheel....honost mistake. Mine do not even work.
  14. Suabru..... Converting the world over, one driver at a time. I wonder if Cheryl Crow has a Suabru with a bike rack?
  15. Can you imagine if the circus used that for their clown car....they could put a whole town in their...and then go wheelin. "I'm going to go work on the car and eat some red meat." -Husband "Did you say cute again?" -wife
  16. My Roo came from Burt back in 1989 (90 legacy) and I bought it from the origianal owner earlier this year. 233K and still purring. It has retired to Sunny FL since and I do not think it will see anymore snow in it's lifetime but it loves to pass all the non-AWD cars on Highway 95 doing about 90mph. You should see their faces... Went and looked at the new 05 legacy at Palm Bay Subaru. I think I found my wifes new car.
  17. Go to Yahoo and type in Backyard boys Subaru lift. there you will find lifts for all kinds of roos.
  18. Believe it or not it might be cheaper to just buy one. I only say this because if you rent one you have to have it delivered due to it's size (industrial ones) and the per day charge. I rented one once and when I went to my local Sam's warehouse I saw it for $150.00 (close to). Call around...see what you can find.
  19. Does anyone on here know of a company that makes a snorkel for the older legacys? I found my BYB lift but I want to go extreme with this.
  20. If so how did it do? Stuck? Climbing? Good cornering? When I say stock I mean bone stock. NO LSD! NO special tires! I have 2 legacys at my off-road disposal and I was thinking of doing one mud and one sand. This is FL...we have tons of both. I also have a Jeep to pull them out. LOL
