  1. You dont have to have the window pulled..just do what I told you on the XT board..Over the years the seals dry up..shrink..and you get window leaks..common problem with XT6s..also the trim will rattle. This is really no big deal..Easy fix for under $10
  2. What Gary said..there are NO aftermarket XT6 radiators period...The only place to get one is used from a JY or from Subaru or made. We see this issue constantly on the XT board. Gary is 100% right...call back and cancel your order its the wrong one.
  3. Have you upped your boost at all? I dont really know turbos but I have read many problems with upping it just a hair to much can cause something like that...its just a thought..probably wrong though.
  4. Yup these Imps are incredible..especially once everything gets broken in...Suspension...motor.. The paint chipping issue..its over on Nasioc..the people with the darker colored cars are having serious paint chipping in from of the back tires. Its had to tell on my cause its white...and needs a bath right now. But one member has a letter from Subaru stating they are aware of the problem and should have the fix ready by spring. I have had alot of chipping on my hood that I am having them look at next time it goes in.Just seems the paint is thin. But what can you expect...we are the guinea pigs of the new design.. I still have absolutely no regrets and still feel I made the perfect choice for me. Major Lazy....Lukas has an 07 Imppy with dual range ( I am so jealous )..Its in the off topic section ..the show off your soob..last page or 2. Oh and Thanks Paul ( crazyhorse):o You always have a way of making me blush:grin: And I know Hollister appreciates it too.( She is such a sweetheart of a car)
  5. Thats a shame...that picture is very deceiving too. I hope something comes along for you guys soon
  6. I get all sorts of free stuff with my 08 Imppy from the dealer...but then again..I have a reputation for being the Subaru Chick who loves her old school cars and works on them too..( Heck they have even brought my car in for an oil change..got busy came and got me saying what bay it was in ..there's the lift...theres the tools..have fun LMAO:lol:) And they havent charged me yet for any service on the car cept an install of an Aux port and even then they charged me half. A Happy Subaru is one thats being used for what it was designed for...They get excited when they see snow.. They will try and run better and be peppier ..AND they are fun to drive in bad weather. I have never looked so forward to the North Eastern snow storms as much as I do now ..and get upset if the plow beat me to the road. You cannot baby your Subaru cause it will not be happy then...and we mustent make our Subarus unhappy casue they take good care of us and unsually ask for little in return but some play time.
  7. Yes..over here the base is 2.5 ..we dont get many options it seems like the market over there does...Like I was suprised to see one member have D/R on his 07 Imp...LUCKY!!... Whats bad was when I ordered the car..It had to be located and brought down from another state cause at the time they didnt have any 5spds around...everyone wants AT:rolleyes: Whats the HP on the 1.5s BTW??
  8. Thats where my Loyale woud run all the time ( for 5 + years) ...sometimes even lower in super cold weather..so it looks normal to me. Your heats alright right?
  9. I have actually parked right next to a mazda 3 and compaired..and its really a different beast.
  10. The light do go off..as long as you take the key from the ignition..I leave mine on all the time..by accident:rolleyes:. Yup the sports grill is rediculous..actually its something like $275 from the dealer..or $230 on ebay.. Thats why I havent changed it yet.. Heck the Molded color matched splash guards were $95 and the rock guard ( not pictured..just put it on) is listed at $79..I got mine for $65 cause I know people. I just wish I could get the grill cheap:-\
  11. I am sure your tail isnt going to win any beauty pagents either :-p:Flame: I actually really like the back end of the car..it looks cool at night all lit up.
  12. Yup they do..I am thinking on getting both at a later date..The sport grill is super nice and the side molding is also color matched . You can basically order everything to color..the splash guard I put on..ordered to color.. I know the grill is in the excess of $230+ even on ebay..I havent priced the side moldings. There has just been so much hate tossed at this redesign...me included..until I went and took one out for a test drive. I wanted a white Outback but the price was more then I could afford...I still have no regrets at all with my choice..and i look forward to keeping this for at least the next 10 years...BUT They are not a luxury car at all...there is very little sound deadening in them..they are noisey and the roof rack is known for a big part of it..but it can be removed and reinstalled in under 5 minutes. But the framed windows...I love the framed windows...no more water coming in at the car wash! no wind whistling at high speeds. I love this car
  13. I had the same problem with my XT6..battery less then a year old..sit over night..dead. I was using an Advanced Auto Silver Battery ( the next step above trash) ..Cleaned all the connections...Alt was showing a charge..I did Skips test..used a spare turn signal assembly from an EA81...no Draw..Took Battery out and had tested..Was a bad battery...seems they are going bad like crazy. What condition are the terminals in BTW? also the white connector on the Alt..what condition? All these can lead to battery drain also. You didnt check for the glowing dash lights at nighthave you?? I couldnt tell on my XT6 when it was light out...but in the dark it looked possessed ..when the alt went. Just giving some simple ideas:)
  14. Looks to be an easy fix thats for sure..I would spray it down with some Simple Green or Purple Power and ..like you said..spray the tar outta it..toss a coat of wax on it and it will be good as new. HAHAHA my coupe is snuggled in nicely at Turbones house...I am flying out in April for a few days to work on the car and visit with some..help another friend find a serious water leak in his XT and if thing work out..we should be able to take my coupe to the DAS terminal and send it on its way east..then I will fly back. Not taking any chances with my precious..Ya'll just dont know what a prize cars like your freebie and my coupe are over here. And dont you PNWers fret..my little blue coupe is going to be garage kept and will NEVER EVER see road salt...If I have to it will be put in a bubble.
  15. I have had my 08 Imppy 2.5i 5dr since November..I have over 7500 miles on it already and love it more and more everyday. Its been problem free except for a paint chipping issue that Subaru has promised us a fix for by spring and they will take care of damages( we will see:rolleyes:). The motor broke in sweet and its quite peppy for your base model ..The suspension has settled in and it handles amazing..smooth and comfortable..hugs corners..I actualy think it can give my XT6 a run for its money on the twisties ( anyone who has owned an XT6 can tell you..they arent fast but not much can handle the turns like them). I get compliments on this car almost everywhere I go and the support from Subaru has been terrific ..since we are the guinea pigs with this design. Any add ons are easy and dont require the dealer to do..I added the OEM splash guards and rock guard and installed them in minutes.. I am suprised that even though I have the light ivory interior..it seems to repell stains and dirt very well. Cargo space is actually pretty darn good..I hauled a ton of stuff back from FL and still got 29-30 mpg highway..On average I get 27 mpg combined driving. I drive just shy of 100miles a day to work and back and find ths car perfect for the job..the handeling in bad weather is just..OMG I never looked so forward for snow and get upset if its only a couple inches and the plows already went through, Anyway..Pics of my Ugly car . With my XT6:
  16. What Brus said...also are you absolutely sure its the spoiler and not the trunk lid itself..or maybe something else back there. Also try taking it someplace else to have the problem diagnosed and get the results in writting..contact Subaru and see if there are other cases of the same problem. ( we are doing that right now with the 08 Inp 5 doors having paint chipping issues and they told us a fix will be out in spring and we will be taken care of) Also double check to make sure it just didnt come loose..it is a whole new trunk lid and spoiler right?
  17. That is a nice car! Specially for being free...you PNW people...Just dont know LOL A free car on this side of the pond is usually not recognizable as a car. Speaking of which..I cant wait for my 83 coupe to go out and touch it and then send it on its way here. So what are your plans for Freebie??
  18. I think Rob is going to a PAP tomorrow...looking for a rear disk brake swap for the little blue coupe.
  19. Shame it would cost so much to ship.. I could still so use both doors ( specially the pass side) and a pass fender for my XT6:rolleyes: If you could get the dash trim off without breaking it..I know a few people looking for un cracked broken trim.
  20. FSMs Factory Service Manuals ..I got mine here on the board but you can find them on Ebay sometimes. Worth every penny.. There is also a link to an onlione vesion on http://www.subaruxt.com ..That is actually where you will find more info on the car. Here is a link to online FSMs http://mshoup.us/docs/fsm Thanks to a member who is both on this board and the XT board also BTW the Chiltons way of timing the motor is wrong.
  21. First off..ditch the chiltons and find a set of FSMs ..much more informative. I cant help ya on finding a ACV The only code I ever threw was a 22 ( knock sensor) and that was cause I knocked the connector off. You know where your O2? Also..I havent been following much..but does the car run and what exactly is it doing?
  22. 24= By Pass Air Control Valve 32 =O2 sensor Just pulled it out of my FSM...and I understand your pain.. I work on my XT6 by myself too.
  23. Since it is expected of me to drool over lifted wagons:lol: I have to do it... Sweet!!!!!!!:slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber: Looks like ya'll had a great time..and I just love the lifted wagons...so pretty:slobber:
  24. HEY!!!!! I was finally able to get one before it was snaked:grin: My 83 GL-10 coupe..so there:-p:Flame: And someday I ill have one badazz lifted wagon. But for now 3 is all my husband will allow ( and he wasnt happy about the third)
  25. I have found some special people here on this board...They have come through in more ways then just help with my cars or parts..but emotionally. Since I dont have any family..I found some here..I have friends here that I feel so strongly for that they have become family..And I love them dearly and would go to the end of the earth for.( You know who you are) I am also a female in a mans world loving these cars..and working on them..here I am an equal..treated as such.
