Western USA Question
I kinda like having a kinda rare Subaru..around here there are TONS of new Subarus..about every 5th car is an Outback Lego Forgetser or Imppy...but to see an EA82 or and EA81 is rare let alone a Justy ...The Brats and XTs are almost nill..I think in the 5 years I have lived in CT I can count on 1 hand the Brats I have seen here...and same for XTs...I actually see a fair amount of SVXs though..probably 3-4 a month

Northeast folks Winter activities
No way I will take my Imp off road yet..nope nada aint gonna happen:grin: Carlisle I probably doubt will happen..the XT6 is dead in the water..mice got him bad and now has a major electrical problem and I probably wont pursue fixing him anymore:-\ . Wont know for a couple days yet what is going on with the 83 GL-10 coupe that Rob should be looking at for me ( unless he wants it for himself.) and even then I doubt it would be on this side of the pond by then. I wont show a brand new car..just is pointless to me.Plus there is a member that if I see them face to face there WILL be a fight. Monday I am going graveyard at work so who knows...I am holding out cause I AM going to WCSS10 if I go anywhere this year...More to see a couple friends then anything.

I've got a little fessin' up to do.
I know kinda what you are feeling Zap... I tossed the jump pack on my XT6..threw in some gas and seafoam..started it up and took him out for a romp. I forgot what a blast that car is to drive...There was even snow on the ground and road salt:eek: ( and I promised Rocky he would never see that eveil stuff again) ..Didnt get him muddy like you did the Brat..but he is dirty. I have been just running my 08 Impreza Holly and raving about how awesome she is to drive..But something about Rockys bad clutch..noisy exhaust..and 20y/o design..too much fun..Gots to love our oldies along with our new ones.

Looking at a Legacy 2.2
Bucky92 replied to tidd1340's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would worry more about the AT..they are prone to torque bind

1988 gl value
Getting back on topic: I wuld love to see some pics of this car:grin: ( I have EA82 wagon lust) And I can also say..I have well into the $2K mark so far invested in my ratty old XT6 and alot more planned ( frame repair etc)..all going into a car that will doubtfully make the true collector list and go up in value...I do it cause I want to and its a cool car.

Its never good
coolant temp sensor They have a bad habit of having the wire harness and connector going into it get corroded ..When this happens it can cause some interesting issues ( cause the ecu is confused since it uses the cts basically as settings like a choke would do). The sensor itself does go bad sometimes ..but its usually the plug first..you can try cleaning it..feel for brittle wires ( cause the corrosion will go out the wires aways)..I its too bad and the wires feel brittle just snip it off back to where it feels good...splice new wires and a new T connector on. As for the tranny..check your gear oil:)

No Ballz 87 GL SW
If its an AT..there is your problem..those 3ATs are good for nothing but boat anchors

1988 gl value
Some people cannot understand the sentimental value of a car..to them its JUST a car.. I have had some very sentimental cars..one I recently let go of to a good home ( a 92 Loyale wagon) One of the others sits in my driveway with a dead battery ( my 88 XT6) Some thought I was crazy to dump the kind of money I have so far into a rotted out old XT6...that still needs a ton more...but the way I look at it is..Its my money I will spend it as I want. GD is an opinionated a$$ ( look by his avatar..he even admits to it ) But he also knows his stuff when something breaks. But his presentation needs some work.Usually I just ignore his comments like that.

it's here... '08 STi
Bucky92 replied to zstalker's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOK There are some other differences besides the sheet metal though;) some suspension changes and there is more room in the car then previous years. And I am with you..I wouldnt buy a Focus POS either. But the Impreza is the lowest priced AWD car on the market

it's here... '08 STi
Bucky92 replied to zstalker's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGuess I am the only one who has grown to really like this body style ( could be cause I own one:rolleyes: ) But around here I am seeing the new style popping up like crazy...and more of the 5 door then the sedan. Reveeen..where are you getting your numbers?? A base model Imp Sedan starts in the 16K (before dealer fee) and the base 5 dorr starts in the $17K range...Even mine which is the base model 2.5i with some accessories ...rubber heavy duty floor mats, rear bumper guard, roof rack, cargo tray, cargo nets, molded splash guards and the extended warrentee..was still under $22K. I would wait till you see one in person with an open mind before judging the car...You can go back and look at my posts and see I hated it at first ..until I stopped looking at pictures and actually saw one..And even my first sighting I still didnt like it cause my mind was still clouded by all the bad feedback coming from the picture.I mean ,honestly, those who know me, would you really expect ME to go get one? I have no regrets about getting mine..and am happy I went with the 08 instead of the 07 or older..for multiple reasons. As for the STi..I have to take my 2.5i in tommorrow for its first oil change and service. I am hoping they have one there and if they do I will get pictures with my good camera.( MY dealership loves me and lets me do about anything I want there:grin: )

Looking to buy a Subaru
I also vote for a 2.2 Lego..you will get improved ride,handeling,comfort,DEPENDABILITY...and still have the non interference motor..the EJ22 is proven bullet proof. And they can be had easily in the $3000 range for a nice one.

Bucky needs a fuel pump?
Now I feel bad Buckys fuel pump has always been noisey...he had been sitting for awhile..maybe water in the tank?? You toss some dry gas in him...he likes seafoam...Also check his timingand the Maf..If there isnt a Maf inthe box I sent with you ..I might have one somewhere. He always did need a bit of a warm up before going anywhere. I still feel bad now

What To Do
Then give yourself peace of mind:grin: Also..a suggestion...when you are ready for a new CD player..I can recomend the Sony X Plode...Bucky had one..which was stolen to put in Rocky..so many of my friends have them ..all for the same reason..sound good...hold up well...aux port in the front ..and cheap ( Mine was $89 at Wally World) And yes I had fun today coming home ( cept for the fact it took 2 and a half hours when it usually takes alittle over 1)...passing all the Beemers and Mercedes..and one of those funky looking Audi coupe things...in my little Imp...just chugging right through...radio cranked..singing..lalala..while they had the death grip on the steering wheel.

First Imp on 08 Imp in real snow
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy XT6 with FT4WD with diff lock was horrid...i had an easier time with my 92 Loyale wagon with bald snow tires on it...This little Imppy with the tires that came on it from factory ( Potenzas ..I think the R23s or something)did really good...I was having a blast...shame there was so much traffic that I couldnt have some real fun. I sware..everytime I drive this car I love it more and more

First Imp on 08 Imp in real snow
I finally got to drive my 08 Imppy in some real snow...and here is my first impression. Awesome!! She is poetry in motion..My street was un-plowed ( which is unusual actually) 6-7 inches down..white out conditions..She just chugged right through ...should I mention that its about 2 miles from the main road to my house and my street is hilly curve and fun when its dry. There is a off camber down slopped turn right before my driveway..that when it snows we take bets on how many cars are going to hit the guard rail....She just kept in control the whole time..Now I wasnt flying but I wasnt creeping either. OK I dont like the anti-lock brakes...but if you lighten up on the pedal you can control them bettwe..Also if gassing it hard and turning at same time..it will kick the back out but its so easy to bring back under control. I got no wheel spin pulling up my unplowed driveway...I think with some snow treads she would be extremely fantastic!! I havent felt so in control or confident in a car for a long time...so on a scale from 1-10..she is a 9.2( cause of the anti-lock brakes and tires )
