  1. I've seen posts that it will, but Car-part.com shows '90-91 separate from '92-94 when searching. I did see where even a '95 should work. I've got a line on a 48k mile 1994 for $350 that I'd like "just in case". Any seals need replaced if it's been sitting? Thanks!
  2. Looks like they're using Nada - see below. Try KBB RETAIL: Brighton: Condition Value Excellent $8,010 L: Condition Value Excellent $8,410 Nada: Clean Retail Value Base Price$6,225$7,925 Mileage - 188,000 miles-$1,950-$1,950 TOTAL PRICE$4,275$5,975* Good Luck! And don't give up too quick! P.S. This is for N. Idaho...should be comparable to Big Mtn area.
  3. I'm installing OB struts on my '90 Legacy and will put on larger diameter tires, but is there a reason to go to a 15'' rim? A 205/75R14 is very close in width and height to a 205/70R15. Thanks
  4. An easy test for air lock/air on my '90 Legacy was to get the car warmed up and open the bleeder screw/valve on the passenger side of the radiator. If steam comes out, you've got it; if coolant flows out, you don't. Look for a post by Setright to replace/fill the coolant w/the best results. Good luck and hope it's not the HG.
  5. Will a '91 Legacy Turbo intake help (fit?) my '90 Legacy EJ22? Here's the item # 140093281455 and ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/91-94-Subaru-Legacy-Turbo-intake-manifold-92-93-EJ22T_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36474QQitemZ140093281455QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  6. Howdy, I've got a '90 Legacy. Will the newer Legacy/impreza stereos fit? I know an 04 6-CD in dash fit my 97OB.... Thanks
  7. If you don't mind the HP loss, the '95 2.2 is a straight swap for a '97-99?. I paid $1500 for HG repair (incl. head work), resealed the engine (don't forget the tranny sep. plate) to stop other leaks, and new pulleys. Good luck
  8. Yep, under the front passenger seat or already removed. I had this setup, but when the Changer went to heaven (actually resold on ebay), I replaced it w/an '04 Impreza 6-CD/cassette IN-DASH - fit perfectly....but lost the radio's clock.
  9. On LegacyCentral: http://legacycentral.org/library/torquebind.htm Seems logical, but I wouldn't call $750 inexpensive (although it's a dealer quote). Compared to a rebuild, maybe it is.:-\
  10. Saw a '94 Legacy Ti on Ebay and I've seen Mi's too. What are these in comparison to an L, LS, or LSI?
  11. 97 OB (HG done @ 125K), 141K, AT. Symptons: Starts fine, runs fine, but idle stays around 1100 when warm UNLESS I put in N or P for a second or 2. When shifted to N or P idle goes up to 1500, then settles down to normal warm idle ~ 700rpm with in a couple seconds.
  12. I think I fixed it. It may have been a barely loose plug wire. I'd been in there the week before taking off an underdrive pulley (2MPG!), and bumped it....unless it just needed me to open the hood and say "boo!"
  13. Nipper - I tried the D3 and it's still there, but not as noticeable as when the car is loafing along in OD @ 35-40 mph. Also, at idle the car shakes a bit - not like it's going to die or anything's going to shake loose. But it's definitely not a smooth idle. But the rpms change very little if @ all @ idle.
  14. Noahdl88 - Yes, part throttle is when it occurs. Driving city streets @ 30-40 is most noticeable; also @ freeway - 65-75. If the TC were engaging/disengaing wouldn't the rpms change, too? If it were the solenoid is that in the tranny? Also, at idle the car shakes a bit - not like it's going to die or anything's going to shake loose. But it's definitely not a smooth idle. But the rpms change very little if @ all @ idle.
  15. 97 OB 140k (Head gasket @ 125K) - mild surging @ 30-40 mph; just noticeable @ cruising speeds - 65-75 mph. Could it be the TC going bad? O2 sensors are both replaced; cleaned throttle body, but not the deep cleaning via the vacuum hose. Plugs are good. IAC? TPS? Thanks
  16. I had PO420 code - Catalyst-related - removing the negative terminal didn't reset it. I had to use the free Autozone reader to "Erase" it. Is there a more thorough way to reset?
  17. My 97OB had a similar erratic idle. I replaced the front O2 sensor to fix. There were no codes. I suspected the O2 as I'd bought some cheapies off ebay a few months earlier. No help here on the electrical gremlins or the differential.
  18. The '95 is gone ('97 OB now) along w/the receipt for the repair. But it wasn't a pump...i want to say it was a "clutch" in the tranny, but doesn't sound quite right. Torque bind was also fixed w/the repair. Also, I lost reverse after having the tranny flushed. The shop was/is pretty cool...small w/3-4 mechs that know their stuff, and don't sell you what you don't need.
  19. I also had the same issue on a '95 Legacy wagon - no reverse-went forward fine. $900 to fix....and I'm totally drawing a blank on what they replaced. Somewhere on USMB is a fairly good description of a DIY replacement. Here's some more info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48411&highlight=replace+legacy+trans
  20. Just did both on my 97OB, which spent time in PA (according to Carfax). They came out easy w/my 7/8'' wrench. Toughest part was making sure I didn't cross-thread it on the install.
  21. Plz confirm that this mounts on top of the rear hatch on the station wagon. Thanks
  22. E7210AS001SB Spoiler-SW, Sydney Blue Legacy '95-'99 $77.00 Still available? Does this come w/mounting HW and instructions?Thanks
  23. Symptoms: Oily smell in coolant; black stuff floating in coolant tank; extra steam out the exhaust pipe. But No change in temp gauge. 125K on 97 OB. Need a mechanic in my area to get this done. Not w/in my skill set. Thanks!
