  1. It will come one again at 120K. Not sure about 180K, only at 174K at moment.
  2. If it is possible to get a good shipping rate to the US then I am game.
  3. Take a look on this site, http://www.wagneralt.com/ .Got to the catalog page, login per instructions, select electrical components from the left menu, then select pulleys under alternator. 2/3 down the page you will find a half pulley #W055-37. That is the pulley that was mounted on my XT6 alt by a local electrical shop (best I can tell from just eyeballing it). #W055-35 might also be a one piece that is useable. Someone call them and ask tech support, they are supposed to be very helpful. Haven't done it myself, have been too busy. As an aside, my XT6 alt just went belly up. Now I have to replace it.
  4. Can't imagine A Brat being prone to rollover. It has a nice wide stance and it's center of gravity is not high up. Just my opinion from driving my 86 Brat. Samuri's and Jeeps where the one I always heard about.
  5. That's the port for letting air from the Air Suction Valve (ASV) into the exhaust flow. Used in order to promote better converter function. There should be one on each side. MY 86 Brat has them.
  6. From what I've read in the past, the EA82 rotors are larger than the EA81. Will cause problems for the calipers. Do a search...might just involve swapping backing plates and calipers.
  7. If the price is right I would be interested in EA81 Motor mounts.
  8. The 50/50 mix is good for most driving environments. Extremely cold ones would go towards the 70/30 mix (antifreeze/water). In extremely hot environments, the opposite. Prestone markets a Tropical Blend premixed coolant for hot areas like the Carribean. It's 34% coolant to 66% water. Antifreeze/coolant does not transfer heat very well hence never use antifreeze/coolant by itself without mixing with water.
  9. Hehehe...I would venture that you would be popular here with non-board members also.
  10. According to my parts book, there IS a ring type gasket between the head and the adaptor/spacer for the metal line to the ASV. It is Subaru part #4221 7010. Hope this helps.
  11. Hi. Sorry if this is hijacking the thread but wanted to know what is the availability of body parts (sheetmetal) there in Israel? What general condition (i.e. Rust)?
  12. I have to agree with Archemitis. My 86 Brat has 174K on it with the original carb. Have never had a problem with the carb. That is one of the reasons I have hesitated putting on a Weber. Hope I didn't just jinx it.
  13. I would think maybe an intermittent vacumm leak, possibly from the throttle shaft. The throttle shaft bushings on Hitachi carbs do wear out and allow extra air to enter thus throwing off the mixture/idle. Only way to repair is a complete rebuild including rebushing the shaft. Have had the same experience with Hitachi carb on old Datsuns.
  14. From what I gather they are for the Air Suction Valves (ASV). Does one end of each connect to the air cleaner and the other to what look like a metal valves? The ASV is used to add oxygen to the exhaust stream before the Cat so that the Cat can work more efficiently. Do a search for ASV to learn more.
  15. That's is totally off the wall. I get my belts at a local NAPA here and have never had any problem. Just take in the old belts and let them measure them. They have a special tool for it (I know because I used to work parts counter way back in the day).
  16. A metric size will work perfectly. Look in Pep Boys or any such store.
  17. OK, these are probably stupid questions and I ask forgiveness from the more learned but would like to know if a FT4WD tranny can be mated to an EA81 directly? Without the need for an adaptor? I understand the stubs are different and would go the route of having special axles made (including spares) but could it be used in a Gen II Brat (86)? What models would be a source for the tranny and how much modification/fabrication would be involved?
  18. I myself have never had any problems ordering from Subaruparts.com. In fact, they always surprise me by shipping items to me air frieght instead of the ground shipping they charged for. I have always placed my orders online and have always looked up my own part #'s from my parts book (85&86 2D and MPV (Brat)). Only once have I had to speak to anyone there on the phone and when I did it was to add something to an order already submitted. They were most helpful and attentive. Oh, and while you are at it, order the two little spring clips for the throwout bearing. They are cheap and well worth using new.
  19. Welcome to the board. Come out and meet some of the board members at the upcoming Carlisle event in may.
  20. I go along with the bad battery cable. Had the same problem and traced it to the positive cable. Replaced and problem disappeared.
  21. Look at the ratings posted on your link at about mid-page. They themselves rate the tire as "Unacceptable" in snow. Oops, my bad. Just saw that the rating said N/A. Probably untested.
  22. Turns out I DID have exhaust leaks. One tiny one just before the converter and the muffler inlet finally rusted thru. Had both repaired and now back to normal. I may still go ahead and replace the ASV's since I didn't like that pulse of exhaust gas into the air cleaner.
  23. Thanks. You must have been riding in my Brat over the last few days. Am also going to need a class on repolishing the windshield...I can hardly wait.
  24. NP's and NGK's are the two Japanese OEM plugs. Either one will work well in a Sube. Have never met a Japanese engine that liked Champion plugs though.
  25. OK, wasn't able to get pics but that line goes to a T-connector that also runs to the black vac valve that sits over the driver side Air suction Valve. It's all part of the emmissions system. Cap it off if you don't have to worry about passing emmissions/under hood inspection. I have emmissions testing here in NJ so I still have everything hooked up.
