  1. Baruhim habayim!! I was supposed to visit last year through Birthright, but I couldn't afford to take 2 weeks off work. Maybe this coming winter...
  2. 6'4" 195lbs - I fit in my XT with no problems. I need to leave myself some door space so I can swing my knees out when leaving the car though!
  3. 1)My 86 XT-GL needs a name, and I'm out of ideas, except for XT-C (which sounds a little bit trite) - any suggestions? 2)What is the best way to fix a small rust patch, which is between the door and rear mud flap on the driver's side?
  4. I'll put up a vid of my XT (whom I need to name) after I have the rest of my 2" exhaust put up.
  5. Will any aftermarket parts, such as springs or body kits from the 1st gen Prelude fit an 86 XT, either with or without simple modifications?
  6. Okay, I know you guys are around here somewhere! I drive past an XT and an XT-6 every morning on the way to school and have seen a $hit10ad of wagons around. I want to compare notes in person some time!
  7. Actually, it probably is an alarm - when I bought the car, it had an alarm sticker in the window and came with an alarm remote, but I never actually bothered to think about it, because I never noticed an alarm system anywhere. Ah well.
  8. No one was able to answer this before, but maybe somoene who didn't catch the old thread, or someone new might... Under my dash, below the winter/summer switch for my wipers, and above my hood release, I have a plain toggle switch, which has wires going towards my engine. Does anyone have any clue what it might be? I've driven with it in both positions and can't tell any difference in how the car behaves.
  9. Lucky kid, my parents were so hands-off, it's a wonder I have any mechanical ability at all
  10. Um... they're Scoobies? I loved my BC Legacy, I love my XT-GL, I've loved the handful of SVX's that I've had the pleasure of driving. When I finish college (with a dual major in Computer Engineering and Computer Science), I'm buying a new Soob - the B11S if they ever make it, a Baja turbo or Legacy GT (turbo) if not. Scoobies are tan presyosa as well
  11. Well, I finally got around to ordering an owners manual - I'll have to try for the shop manuals next month, since the snow is going to be eating into my paycheck.
  12. Thanks for the instructions! Whomever owned this car before me didn't take care of it. I put in the first new set of plugs the thing ever had, so even if I wasn't intent on advancing my timing for more performance, I'd want to check it anyway, lol.
  13. After a few searches, I can't find a how to on timing advancement. Anyone care to tell me how? With all the weather the east coast got, I ain't goin' nowhere today and need something to do.
  14. Wouldn't the turbo choke on my 2" exhaust?
  15. I just picked up a 2" catco cat, and once I pick up a new Y pipe, I will have my local shop finish my exhaust system (I already have a 2" muffler). After that, I was looking at a higher compression - maybe 10:1? I'm not big on turbocharging cars that weren't designed for it. I had also looked at flywheels and pully kits. I don't neccessarily want a dragstrip car - I'd rather have more GT performance.
  16. So much for that idea.... back to searching the board for more mods.
  17. Where is the best place to look for a 3:9:1 differential to lower the gearing on my 86 XT GL (EA82 NA)? Also, what about pistons and/or cams to up my compression ratio?
  18. I just had my Thrush Turbo bolted on, and my manifold gasket goes. $160 later, the y pipes have been dropped and the bolts replaced, BUT, the mech tells me I should replace the pipes at some point. So, I order a 2" high flow cat, and get to replace my entire exhaust system. Question is, will the new 2J piping conflict with the fact that I just had a 2" muffler bolted on over the weekend? I don't want to create a new bottleneck after fixng the one I used to have!
  19. It's an MPFI. From what I understand, Maryland has become just as anal as California about emissions, so I can't go catless, and I can't even go with one three way. How hard is supercharging an XT?
  20. I just had a Thrush Turbo from Dynomax put on - it fits great and only costs about $20 from Advance Auto.
  21. I've put in a cone filter with a heat shield, a Thrush Tubro muffler with a chrome tip, an Accell Super Stock coil, and Accel Super Stock wires - where do I go from here in an attempt to eke out more performance out of my EA82?
