EJ22s best for swapping?
95 may be ok, because its pre OBD II, but it may not be as good, don't know 100%

EJ22s best for swapping?
the benifit of the older EJ22's is that they don't require a vehicle speed sensor, which makes the swap infinately easier.

Mitzpah Engineering HVLA - Where?
I would caution you, some HLVA's caps are staked, so they are not serviceable, i know they came in some 88's i don't know if there an older thing or a newer thing.

Engine swap
as long as they are both SPFI or carby, it shouldn't be a problem, gotta swap flywheel and clutch though, but that shouldn't be a problem. if one is a spfi and the other is carbed, the only thing needing swapping would be the distributor and the intake, with all its wires, hoses and the like.

Who's Who, Offroad 2005
Seeing as how the last who's who was started in May, last year. I figured taht it would be a good time to start up the Offroad 2005 Same deal, Offroad Pics only, lets see if we can keep the pictures off the driveway. Both sporting the PK-OZified lift kits and the D/R 5 speed

EA-81 5 speed hold up behind an EJ motor?
My concern for your 2wd only is that in any kind of weather, dry included, hooking up and getting traction is hard with all the extra power, 4wd has come in real handy on hills and rainy roads.

Clunk when 4wd disengages
I had the clunk problem, turned out it was 175's on the front and 185's on the rear, you might check that out too.

EJ EA Swap - Different Clutch Fitment
a lighter flywheel will make the engine more prone to stalling under heavy load at low rpm, exactly the conditions where you want to keep momentum up and not stall. the larger inertial energy of the heavy flywheel will help keep the engine going when a lighter flywheel would not. Its not that you can't use it, myself, i wouldn't.

The Ultimate Snorkel Thread......
Yeah, that wiring will get improved, once the 88 EJ swap is complete. i don't really want to mess with it right now, it works so i leave it alone.

Shalom, Welcome If the pictures are already on the net you can copy and paste.

EJ EA Swap - Different Clutch Fitment
If you're off roading, a lighter flywheel is the last thing you want.

EJ EA Swap - Different Clutch Fitment
I would worry about moving the flywheel back, but then again, it could be fine, would definately be nicer to use the EJ clutch components than an EJ-EA hybrid

- Michigan Meet And Greet
not a bad price for a 95, but i'm in detroit, and the best subaru mechanic in big rapids was me when i was there. I do come up rather frequently to visit friends a Ferris, next time i'm up there i'll let you know, if you wanna hit the power lines in an off road subie.- RX approaching 'ultimate' status....
I'm with Corky and Turbone, The "Ultimate RX" whereabouts unknown, does sport as Turbone says a JDM WRX turbo drivetrain, i'm pretty sure that could beat an STi on track day. That RX has had the Ultimate name for over 3 years.- two different mickey mouse gaskets?
My first impression would be that the difference in size would be because of a turbo or not, but thats the best i can come up with.- Understanding Dual-Range 4WD
the RX is a relatively rare car, but there should be a few in colorado, more there than in Michigan, but i've not seen any here, so i guess that's not saying much. the low range on those trannys is less than the NA DR, 1.19 as opposed to 1.52, so if you're pushing big tires its not a good idea, unless you swap the low ranges, but you still have the 3.7, which is still not so good, unless you do a lot of highway. - Michigan Meet And Greet
