EJ22 wiring woes, HELP!
try ordering the wiring harness printout from kennedy adapters, its well worth the 22 bucks. I havn't torn into mine yet, but i can see that it will be much simpler, and less wirey (austin style) with their simplified schematic.

EJ22 swap-o-rama!!!
Not right now, i'm more concerned about getting the 88 running, can't leave D-troit with out it running. the imp is gonna get the 5MT out of the legacy, but thats gonna wait until Sea-Towne. But now you have piqued my intrest, i may have to call up my man Mudrat and see if this is possible, with an RX tranny and the NA low range it might be a good time, with AWD and a center lock. Giggidy Giggidy, all right.

Anti-Theft Device
At the Furd dealership we would take about 3 of those out a week, people do a hack job to get them in just so they can boop-beep the horn. those things are a nightmare to remove, i'm glad yours came out easy.

Brake Swap, Solid to vented?
As much as i hate bringing a post back from the dead, and seeing them brought back, it occurs to me to ask another question. Do the EA-82 front brakes work on the EA-81? That is all.

Tires Swampers or Kumho M/T?
I'd reccomend the SSR's, with the added extra, they should be siped. they're pretty quiet because they are radials. Either way i'd get the tires siped, the bigger lugs with no grooves will suck in the rain, so get them siped and you'll get the best of both worlds, and excellent traction on wet rocks. I don't own any stock in the siping company.

EJ22 swap-o-rama!!!
I borked the engine in my new Impreza, so the swap is on hold until that car is running again, the engine should be crossing the Mississippi any time now. the car should be good to go by the middle of next week, by the 3rd at the latest. once that is good to go, and the adapter plate shows up i'll be ready to pull and swap all the goodies that will make my baby run again. I got the Kennedy Adapters wiring printout, as Shawn has said, i will concur with him. Makes it as simple as cake, well as simple as a 7 layer cake with a 3 tier design and a chocolate waterfall can be. basically what i'm saying is that if its simple enough for me, then anyone can figure it out.

Woodgrain lookalike exterior???
Old american cars had a lot of wood grain, mostly wagons. Before 1948 it was not uncommon to have acutal wood as the panneling. Subarus on the other hand did have it for a few years, early EA-81 or late EA-71 wagons, it could have been a dealer installed option. I have a complete set of the wood grain stickers that i found at the dealership, no i won't be parting with them any time soon.

Well, almost made it back on my own....
me thinks it could be the air filter, it got pretty dusty back there playing in the gravel

Which piston is better for ea81?
IIRC if you take more than about .015 off each head you will have fitment issues iwth the intake manifold, McBrat or Qman should be able to tell you the max amount you can remove
