  1. I'm the official-unofficial photographer, i've got a spare battery and don't plan on forgetting the charger this year. thats 345 high quality digital pics. unless i get another card, which i might anyway, then its over 700.
  2. Looks like i'll be there.
  3. You may not want to do that, they have a sensor ball inside and it is setup neutral to their mounting position, if their mouting position is different it will either lockup on you when you try to pull out the webbing, or worst case it won't lock up when you roll, or suddenly decellerate.
  4. it may not be a question of taller, its a question of possible, in order to make the forester struts work in the legacy you have to use the legacy springs and re heat them to fit the forester perch.
  5. Quick and dirty, to lift an impreza use forester parts to lift a legacy use outback parts
  6. I'm afraid i have misspoke, the physical hard part is over, now for the brainy part, trying to figure out how to make an 87XT wiring harness incorporate into an 88 DL/GL harness. Things that make you go hmm?
  7. Just a heads up to all you contemplating the spring swap, the forester rears will not fit on the legacy, so for the rear you will need outback struts and springs. In a related note, anyone need forester rear strut assemblys?
  8. It was rough but i got sick of waiting for an engine lift, and using that as my excuse for about 3 months.
  9. They are a non serviceable item, replace them with "new" ones from the junk yard, but don't go tearing into them.
  10. Got the MPFI XT engine in the "88" Should be running by..... well, i have no idea, but the hardest part is over, a come-a-long, and a strong rafter where all it took.
  11. I'm still tentitive, either the "bannana wagon" or the legacy, don't know yet. might need to go to chicago that weekend.
  12. if you have the spfi, you can rotate the airbox and inake hose 90 degrees and have it come straight back into the spare tire section, re-routing the wires gets interesting but they are long enough, sorry no pic to explain better.
  13. if you lowered the car in anyway suspension wise that will make it wear on the inside, but i'd get an alignment first, or at least check your toe.
  14. between the 4 subies i've owned, 3 i still have, i've got a million miles. maybe 100,000 are mine. the legacy just hit 206k, which is pretty impressive, cause i got it last june with 175k
  15. Isn't that flex picture the one in the comparison pictures as the BYB/PK lift? And as "CEO" don't you think your "clients" deserve good grammar? Seems kind of sloppy. "making this one of the most highest and most versatile 4x4 kits on the planet."
  16. get new wires, or swap the wires and see if the foul follows the wire, if this is mpfi it could be a leaky injector.
  17. 1. If you are going to take a test that may determine the outcome of your life, take more than 3 weeks to prepare, or at least long enough for the free CD to show up in the mail. took the test saturday, got the CD today, two days late. 2. Subie related, look at all the parts before you give up. in a related note, rear Forester struts will not fit on the front of the Legacy, however i didn't realize until i put the front end back togetherthat i was looking at the rears, and the fronts would have fit just fine. :banghead: Please anyone else stupid out there today, i don't want to be the only one.
  18. there is absolutely nothing for your forrester. ok, just kidding www.rallitek.com
  19. i got that book about a month ago, havn't had time to read it yet, but i'll get to it eventually.
  20. seafoam, put a can in the fuel tank, and suck a can in through a vacuume hose when hot, let it sit for about 2 hours and start her up, won't look pretty but don't worry the smoke will go away.
  21. The goodyear MT and the Superswamper both come in a 27 or 215, hmm, now i want SSR's on the legacy, i may be in over my head.
  22. they only have the 27s for the 14 inch rim, i got a set of forrester wheels and the smallest for the 15 inch is 235/75R15 which is about 29 inches. i'll have to keep looking, that seems a bit excessive for a reasonable amount of banging on the fenders
  23. That truck is one of the few realistic ie not pinzgauer, non subies i'd like to own, nice score, Lucky.
  24. so the stock legacy wheels are 22.7 and the disoverer SST's are 27.7, so the difference is 5 inches total, which divided by two is of course 2.5 so the real question is do you think they would fit with the forester springs and wheels? I'm gonna measure some time this week, but the look of those tires would be dang sexy on the legacy, and i'm not worried about a little pounding the fenders either. Yeah, i'm gonna crank this one to 11.
