  1. I'm sorry, i could be wrong about the exhaust velocity, but i was going by what all my automotive instructors said, what the engineers said when we went on our field trips and what the guy who builds the mopar dragster said. they certainly could be wrong.
  2. I'm assuming that these will be AWD and low lock, as opposed to 2, 4, lo. As they fit on the forresters, they fit on the EJ20 so yes i can say with 99% certainty that they will fit onto the 2.5 or the 2.2 like i'm hoping. On a slightly random note, i belived that these use the push clutch not the pull, so they will require a master cylinder for the hydraulic clutch, not a big deal, but somthing to think about.
  3. Its about Velocity, not backpressure, the exhaust needs 240-260 feet per second velocity through the pipes, your power will be made when this criteria is met. if you have it a little bigger than stock, it will flow that at a lower RPM, if you make it much bigger it will flow that FPS at a high RPM, in that case thats when the power will be made. If its too big the flow slows down too much and you don't get any scavenging.
  4. Thus the beauty of a Subie, go most anywhere 50g's worth of truck can go for less than 2k, usually
  5. To answer your questions, I have no idea. 1. They won't be cheap, i'm guessing optimistically at around 500-1000 2. The'll be shipped to either Seattle or San Diego, Unless its the same price to Michigan, however i'm assuming that most will go to Seattle so i may get them delivered there, i have a place i can send them that is a business so it might be cheaper 3. The low range is about 1.19, its no EA-82 low range, but with the added torque of the 2.2 it should be just fine 4. Little Prince, if i get one direct to Mi, I'll include yours
  6. I knew i could count on you Zap, I'll send you and Ken the best 2 and you can fight for the best one.
  7. I'm with Tom, once we get a date, i'll be there
  8. I know you want one, I know it would be cool, and i know you don't have the money right now. But i just contacted an Australian wrecking yard about getting a shipment in, possibly 10 to make shipping somewhat more worthwhile. If they want a minimum of 10 I want 9 others that can Commit the money it will take to get them here. Sorry to seem harsh, but i don't want this to go on for 5 pages and have only 3 people actually commiting. This is still pending on their response, they may not want to go through the hassle, maybe for 10 though. Sticky?
  9. http://www.subaru.de/aktuell/news-detail.htm?id=141 Just be happy our special editions are LL Bean

  11. Stevens Creek Subaru 3209 Stevens Crk Blvd San Jose , CA 95117 408-984-2001 Distance:2.52 miles Give em a call, i'm sure they'll oblige, it should be a local call too.
  12. hopefully other offroaders can chime in, but i don't think that anyone has had a problem with the pump, maybe were all just super lucky.
  13. the glasspack on my 80 is after the axle, works out fine.
  14. Ditto MorganM, no AC no clutch fan
  15. Its just semantics, but the retractor is in the center console, the motor is only attached to the buckle. OTOH, i'm sure there is a fuse you can pull once you get it in the right position.
  16. Just a thought, check out the offroad forum one of the stickies covers all this stuff. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24980
  17. From what i've heard, Flowmasters... not so much, try a Dynomax, they flow much better.
  18. Count me in for two front sets, one for an EA-82, and one for an EA-81
  19. Cars will usually pull to the left after an alignment, albeit very slightly, this is to compensate for road crown, so when you're going down a two lane blacktop the wheel is straight. BTW, if any of you need an alignment in the Seattle area, I'd reccomend University Ford Quality Care on 45th and Roosevelt, and ask for Brian, this guy does all the GT's and Corvettes in the PNW. if you're real nice, he might weigh you and put that weight in sandbags on your seat so that the alignment is speciffically tuned for you. Mention that Noah sent you and you won't sound so crazy. Really though, he's probably the best alignment guy in the north west.
  20. Still got the 88, nothing new, yet, give it a month fingers crossed. and new to the stable a Bannana Mint 1980 wagon. Still member of the Hatch Patrol, Michigan contingent
  21. Ram engines has springs www.ramengines.com
  22. I'm in Detroit, and spend a fair amount of my weekends in Big Rapids, so if you have any questions i can stop by and we can figure these things out, i'm good at pulling engines i got the one out of my 88 in about 45 minutes, alone, without a cherry picker, hooray for the come-along
  23. you are the 10th person to start a new thread about the brat in ND, no worries though, i was in a packed movie theatre with about 6 friends and i screamed "Brat" when i saw it, everyone stared at me, it was great, my friends didn't even turn their heads.
