  1. The ej may have more catastrophic failures, if somthing goes wrong it will be hard to fix on the trail. but it will go 10 times farther before anything has to be adjusted or tweaked.
  2. http://www.msefi.com/ Found this today, it might help.
  3. Thought i might see what the Legacy would look like RX style It looks like an early 90's acura, not as nice as i thought, but i figured i'd show you guys anyway.
  4. I'm thinking that they misread the center diff as a locker, just me, and just a guess.
  5. I was going to go with anything driven by either Zap or Ken. as far as EA-81 or 82, i guess i'll see next week. but for the real intersting idea, how about all the above, but a hatchback with EA-82 body panels, make it an EA-82 hatch, interesting yes?
  6. if you can get to Excelsior, 10 miles outside of minneapolis?, we can meet you there. the rest of my convoy needs to be back as soon as possible, one has a big test on that monday. but to be sure, if weather is an issue, please don't push yourself past your limit. i'd rather have a late car than a late austin. I've made this trip 3 times cross country, all in the summer, and its hard when its 80 out. don't rush, if your tired pull over, if your snowed in take a break.
  7. i'm looking at heading out as soon as you guys get in, well after dinner or breakfast depending, if you get in saturday night i'd like to get to madison that night. good luck and may the weather gods be with you on your quest.
  8. So once you get the T-case you have two perfectly good stub shafts that are spinning as you're driving, and could also be spinning with the car at a stand still in 2wd, so heres the theory, make them a PTO, air compressor? thats all, just wanted to get this in print before i forgot.
  9. i'm thinking try the hose trick, find the one that goes to the idle air control valve, spray some break cleaner, let'er sit for a bit, 10 minutes, and then, once you've reattached the hose, start her up.
  10. These cars are independent suspension front and rear, the axles are seperate from the differentials, its the Diff that has the LSD, the axles transmit the power from the diff to the wheels.
  11. the MOA Where else? We'll probably be rolling in on saturday night from the East, i don't know when austin will be coming, but hopefully soon after that. as it looks 3/4ths of the crew that picked up the 88 back in OCT 01 will be coming for this one, 3 cheers for tradition
  12. is the thermostat genuine subaru, and in correctly?
  13. hey if your not doing anything tomorrow at 7pm, we'll be up at the Buffalo wild wings in Novi, ask for subaru, really, were regulars. every tuesday.
  14. I'm gonna see about getting a ticket for the AM sunday morning should land around 8 ish, i'd like to be on the road by 9, maybe 10, that way i can be home by midnight, or i can stay at a friends half way, either way, i'll figure it out
  15. don't talk about my new car that way! Austin is a great driver i'm not worried about a thing.
  16. As Austin said i now have a 1980 EJ22 convert, well, i will by the end of January, and i plan on doing the swap to a 1988 by the end of June, its cold in Michigan, give me a break. I got the Digi Cam and i plan on doing a complete write up for both the 81 and 82 series bodys, with wiring and the rest of the fun times that i'm sure will ensue. I'll be honest, the info won't be free, you'll have to do somthing for the board to make up for it, i'm sure Shawn would love a donation to the board.
  17. The book will be fine, if you do a search you can find a much more in depth review of the differences
  18. dosn't the redrive lower the speed of the prop? cause you don't want the prop tips going faster than Mach, and at 5000 rpm i think they would be going way past that.
  19. why wait for the water to go down, austin bring the water wagon.
  20. my guess was for the hub matching pug.
  21. I grew up in K-Zoo, but i moved out before i got into subarus, i dont know much about the subaru dealerships on that side of the state, but there is maple hill subaru off 131 on M43 i believe. this may be blasphemy but try www.Nasioc.com there sure to have more people from michigan, the older subarus just didn't last out here cause of our love affair with salt.
  22. I'm still waiting on hearing back from austin and his girlfriend Freddie, however they don't know that yet. if you guys arn't leaving seattle until the 28th or so i'm thinking it best to fly in sunday morning, then i wont need a place to stay.
  23. i believe that a larger master cylinder will reduce stopping power, bigger area pushed reduces the multiplication, so if you go to a bigger bore, the brakes will be less effective.
  24. I only have your fender at a low angle, if you want it i'll send it but it dosn't do the car justice
