  1. I have no doubt that i'll get what i payed for, its just that now with possible employment opportunites i'm in dire straits on getting the 88 running.
  2. I made a few calls about 5 months ago, it'll cost about 4g's to get one from australia, the price would drop quite a bit if there were more than one ordered, as shipping is about half the final cost. Apparantly you can swap the low range from a NA 4wd to a RX AWD, best of both worlds eh
  3. Anyone out there take out the wiring harness for the engine? I pulled apart the dash and i'm having a heck of a time getting the wiring harness out, do i need to pull the HVAC module? I'm getting frustrated. Oh well, the cost of performance.
  4. Anyone her have a Ganzflow air filter? I'm trying to upgrade my snorkle on the bannana wagon and thought that the Ganzflow inline filter would be a good way to integrate the filter in the middle and use better way to keep the water out the top, its good in water, bad in rain. Just lookin for opinions, and where you got it, i don't want to really to get the entire inake, i just need the filter.
  5. i replaced the crank, cam and knock sensors a while ago, that was the codes i was getting, that and the upstream O2, but i've been lazy in fixing that one.
  6. when you look at it from the front, depending on which way its mounted, look just to the left of the alternator, there will be raised letters that say either EJ or EA followed by 71,81,82,20,22,25 so let us know what combination you got and we can tell you what it came from, probably not the year, but the model should be easy.
  7. there are a number of problems with discharging the ac system. 1, venting the refrigerant into the atmosphere is not good for the enviroment 2, to get a good charge you need to evacuate all the naturally occuring air out of the system, somthing that you can't do unless you have the machine that sucks out the air 3, if you leave it open too long the accumilator/dryer will absorb water like those "do not eat" packets you get in shoes and stuff like that. when that gets wet it will render it useless. that said, you can just pull the schraeder valve, use one from the valve stem on your car and you should be fine, just be careful about not breathing in the R-12 or the R-134a
  8. I have a 96 OBS with the 2.2 and the auto trans, and i have a hesitation problem. at low and part throttle when i try to accelerate the engine gets louder, but dosn't spin faster, but if i mat the throttle she'll accelerate fine, at least fine for an automatic. I've swapped in a new TPS cause i thought it was sticking, but that has not made a difference. I keep hearing fuel filter and O2 sensor, but with good acceleration at high rpm i doubt its the fuel filter, but stranger things have happened. I'm stretching now, but it could also be a clogged Y pipe i guess, but i don't think so. Let me know what you think
  9. that is too sweet awesome
  10. check your wires cap and rotor, could even be the plugs, all in all i wouldn't worry about it. could even be an issue with the timing, that can have a lot to do with the idle rpm, check to make sure its at 20
  11. would these be available in a more timely manner than the wheel group buy?
  12. If you tie a yakima cross bar to the intake manifold, the bar will fit right in the well left by the fenders, its kind of hard over the hump, but much easier than without, be sure to jack up the tranny so that you don't catch on the motor mounts, and pull the oil sender unit so that dosn't break off or narf the radiator
  13. Umm, its black and square, umm yeah I hope the owner can be found
  14. Awesome, just Awesome.
  15. I was worried about posting in this thread, because i didn't want to start a lynch mob, but i do want my adapter plate. It looks like there may be an employment opportunity in Seattle, but i can't go out there until i get the 88 running :-\ so, pretty please with sugar on top....
  16. I got my motor out yesterday too, its not a high falutin turbo though, just a N/A all i need is and adapter plate and i'll be moving again. btw, the delta boys are good people, make a great product.
  17. unless it was a subaru mechanic i'd double check, check the plug wires, the wire off the coil, anything that could have been disconnected to get the belts on.
  18. 1. Make sure you timed it correctly, its not at TDC, its at 3 marks on the flywheel that are about 30-70 degrees away from TDC the left and right banks need to be 180 out, when the flywheel is at the 3 timing marks, the passenger side should be down while the drivers side mark should be up 2. make sure all your wires leading from and to the distributor are good and tight. if you got an accel coil on it try swapping the original coil just to be sure. Good luck, and welcome to the board.
  19. just a quick and easy check, you still have a good timing belt on the drivers side yeah?
  20. i'm unemployed now, so i got plenty of time to do an engine swap, i hope you and yours are doing well.
