Hi, If I recall correctly the unit itself is held in by 3 10mm bolts to underside of dash / back of gutter. Post Pic Here Later : Sorry its for AUS so you'll just have to flip it ... Once you have it out, can see clearly the case splits in half & is held together with about 1/2 dozen spring clips. The motor itself is bolted to one end via 3 rubber grommets. Assemble in reverse order you took apart ... I hope this helps ... Cheers, Bantum ...

You can buy lengths of 'fuse' wire & make your own, just re-use the old spade bits & solder the wire on ( just make sure to get the correct rating ) ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Not sure, but it could be off the transmission ? Alternatively the front engine cross member mounts - Do the holes line up with anything ? ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Thanks for the encouragement ... Your more than welcome to share, as you say the more people know about it the better chances of it happening ... As to more leg room, the Subaru XV is much roomier / comfortable than a Brumby / Brat, which is what I've based this Ute on - so no problems there ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Thanks Ryan, Not sure how many hours I've spent on it, as it has mostly been in my spare time ... Currently the Brumby / Brat is the only 4wd vehicle that I know of, which is small / light weight ( economical ), good as a general run-about & a fun car to drive. Only natural to want a successor to it as they are becoming increasingly difficult to find & maintain. Doubt Subaru will ever manufacture another though, so it's just a pipe dream for now ... Got some updates due shortly, just need to upload some pictures later ... Cheers, Bantum ..

:like: So what did the guys recommend to fix it ? ( new sleeve + weld it up ? ) Make sure they take loads of photos to document the process ... P.S. - While you do have it apart, I hope you checked it all over - including the other cylinder head for dreaded unwanted 'holes' ... Cheers, Bantum ...

+1 for helicoil ... I'd also stay with metric ( keep it in the family ) - as you or the next person who has to work on it will be cursing at having to change tools ... Cheers, Bantum ...

Are you familiar with all the Tamiya ones ? ... ie: XV-01 : 1/10 Scale & About $200 Aus ... TT-02 : 1/10 Scale & About $100 Aus ... Well, while searching for other Subaru models I found this : 1/43 scale from WiT's ... .. Only about $70 Aus ... ... I might get one of these too !
