well, got off early from work again decided to stop by scwab and they said the pads were fine but the rotors are toast...all glazed....so, i guess its jy time for rotors or just buy new...and then will do a rear disc brake conversion later.. just to let people know, i WOULD do it myself if i had the skills/tooks/knowledge to do it...i dont, so am willing to pay someone to do it, some of us have zip mechanical apptitude and i am real close to that...i don't really like announcing that to the whole world but its true....so take it easy on me a bit -

springs underneath front seats

ok, got some nice comfy gl10 seats today(thanx mark!) and he suggested for added firmness(something about me being a little over the average in the weight catergory ), to add a couple of springs to underneath, to shore things up so to speak, so, want to take a few from the seats that i have in there now but cant figure out how to get them out...the ends are pretty curved so you really cant push them out, plus, i'm pretty dumb and cant figure it out.. help please???

well, there's an awful lot grinding going on when the brake pedal is pressed...in fact, when its been sitting over night and i take it to go to work, the first few stops sends a sound right through my spinal cord..heck, its worse then the sound of my ex-wife! anyway, dont have jack stands or floor jack and dont trust midas, scwab etc...and would like a decent brake job done...anyone in the seattle area?

also, try the individual door switches and not the master controller...the master one tends to get ick and stuff on the contacts and that creates the slow roll down/up situtation...i just got a new controller for my 89 and it works alot better... -
yeah, i know, check the oil at every fill up
-
hmm, arent i suppose to have a low oil light icon in my dash? i dont see one light up when i turn the ignition key to on...was wondering because i checked my oil yesterday and it didnt even show on the dip stick! holy &*^%!! so i added oil till it showed full on the stick and 3 qts later it was fine...just a titch low i think and very lucky too i think...so now wondering if i have a light that is burned out.. still dont have an owners manual for it

great, as if finding two 3rd eyes is going to be easy
-
ooooooo'....i could be the first one then eh? well, have to fix my o2 problem first...i was thinking about mounting fog/driving lights in my grill but maybe the 3rd eye would do just as well...look cool too
-
was wondering if i can fit a 3rd eye into my 89 wgn? and if so, any tips or suggestions would be great...i saw how to wire it thanks to mcbrat but now need to know if i can mount it w/o too much difficulty.. thanx!

anyone have a favorite brand of brake dust cleaner for alloy wheels? the pugs have it pretty bad, dont know if the guy ever cleaned them, so i guess i need a real heavy duty brake dust(baked on crud) cleaner and i guess just rags or a toothbrush?

Tallest Tires for unmodified EA82?
starkiller replied to Dante's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i know its not 13" but i have a set of 15" pug alloys with 205/60/15's with no rubbing.... -
so in other words, keep looking

well, another problem reared its ugly head this morning...when i was attempting to replace the o2 sensor i noticed green drops a drippin'...and by the time i figured out i wasnt going to be able to replace the sensor i had a pretty decent size puddle...checked the reservoir and poof!! nothing there...so filled that up half and half...question is, where i always park the car i have a piece of cardboard for the subie leaks...the cardboard is dry...so, does that mean it only leaks when the engine is running? if so, why? and now what is wrong? i assume its a leaking water pump....
