  1. Looks like the rears are doing all the work. My Forester will not loop that tight because the front is pulling. I'd have to be on solid ice to loop like that:cool:
  2. Rear Wheel Drive? Sup with dat?
  3. Ouch! Seemed to nose down over most of the jumps? Seems like that's going to continue to happen as long as the weight is all forward? Have you thought about a Mega skid plate? Good Luck, Glenn All my weight is on the nose too!
  4. Here's a link... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16981&cat=500&ppuser=21756
  5. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=18482&cat=500 It looked like 26 to me? Count them one more time. I only wish it was not such a drive for me.

Ain't no lightly modified Sammi gettin out the top of Prichett. It's going to take more than light modifications to complete Prichett in a Sammi. There is a reason you don't see Subarus off the pavement in Moab.

What he said! It's easy Do it!
  8. Heres the scoop. I finally had a good-old-boys shop test is and tell me what was wrong. Not just offer to rebuild it for $170 or sell me a new one for $200. The dealer wanted $230. It was the regulator, the alt was fine. I had them replace & install the reg for $49. This was by far my cheapest option. Why was this so pricey? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=17219&cat=500&ppuser=584 They rip you on parts for these Honerary Subarus:rolleyes: .
  9. This not a common Alt and can't be found at a junk yard or auto parts store. A new one is $230. Rebuilding it will cost $170. It was already professionally rebuilt just over 3yrs ago, and has had little use. No one warranties these for over a year. I'm looking at two approaches, rebuild/replace parts or swapping in a different unit and cussing till it fits right. I don't know much about rebuilding though?
  10. How tough is it to rebuild an alternator? Ya, I guess that depends on whats wrong, but generally speaking, what's involved and where do you get parts? Before you say it, buying a $35 rebuilt one is not the correct answer! Thoughts and experience appreciated. Glenn

    You'll be off-roading it soon...
  12. Cut through Utah on I-70. It's just like driving through an old "Western Film". The scenery is amazing. Watch out for the stage coaches and cattle drives. That's where I'd go. If there is a storm in that area, it may effect the southern route too? Stay just ahead or behind the storm and you'll be fine. Go Sko!
  13. That's sort of the way I was headed with this... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=10440&cat=500&perpage=12&sort=3&ppuser=584 I was thinking of a full size wall hanging:rolleyes: ....maybe in the front room....? I also thought it would be good in a team (foot) race... a Subaru with Legs? A railing on the inside for runners to carry their share of the load... Your only limited by your imagination. Glenn
  14. Soooooo......? What happened? Don't keep us in suspense
  15. That road closed tunnel in the background is begging for Subaru's to drive through it!!!
  16. Found out what all the smoke was this morning... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=1923258 Bad Subaru!
  17. Sweet82 replied to Uberoo's topic in Off Road
Subaru has a more comfortable ride but the Sammy has better gearing. If you plan on building it over time, a Sammy would be a better starting point. Your the only one who can really answer the question
  18. So it takes two Subarus to haul a toyota to the Dump?
  19. Psssssst. Change (ATV) tires before you head out on the road!!! Drive safe!
  20. Good SK'o! Some folks have all the luck.:-\

I'd feel much better seeing more triangles too! As is I don't think it has one "safe" hit/roll in it. Add Steel. Document the build. Don't look back.

Keep on weldin! Keeping the firewall etc... will sure save some time and effort. Take lots-o-pics and document your build. Keep us posted!
  23. Weld your diff and you will not get stuck! You won't even spin a tire! I have yet to spin a tire or get stuck!
  24. :slobber:Those look Great! Awesome simply awesome What rims are you using? Did I miss this in the thread? I've never lost a bead yet. I'm running 20-26 psi depending on the season and what I'm doing. The Aussies run 30 psi in their ATV tires.
