ea81 computer question
no, I'm still using the same aftermarket fuel pump I was using with the weber... I need to put a weber back on mine for testing purposes to see what the difference would be between the weber and the Holley. too many variables changed at once. I just filled up my gas tank, so I'll be able to check mileage with the holley now....

ea81 computer question
I would assume you're not going to run a stock carb on a built motor, so you shouldn't need the computer then. My built up Brat doesn't have one at all.

EA81 auto to Manual (4spd or 5spd)
Brian, ShawnW put a RX trans into his 83 TWagon. He had to get the specific anti-sway bar too as not all ea81s were the same. having the front axles made somewhere then? CVO or MWE?

HELP!!! The Brat Tried to commit suicide!
your arrow is pointing to the rocker arm, and the adjuster nut is at the other end (top of the pic) if it's actually squirting water from that bolt, then it soulds like you lost the head gasket and it's allowing coolant into the bolt passage... a cracked head could do the same thing.

Ok tried searching couldnt find it
that was copied off a Internet page long ago, and is on Brians USRM pages, and under the Subarus of the 80's page, but does have some errors in it....

Dual Cooling Fans in the Brat??
here you can see how the 2 fans fit. mine are closer to the engine because of the type of lift I have, but stock there is plenty of room.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley4.jpg

EA71 Engine Variations?
ah yes. I remember seeing that specifically mentioned on a ea71 on eBay....
-
EA71 Engine Variations?
I know of these variations for sure.... 1. pre-80/early ea71 - solid lifters, starter on top 2. 80+ "fatcase" ea71 - solid lifters, starter on top. block case was larger. uses the same waterpump or oil pump as ea81 (I think). 3. 84?+ ea71, with bell housing that mated to ea81 trans. starter on side. 4. ea71 with hydraulic lifters. these were JDM replacement engines. I would assume they are 84+ vintage

newbe with 1992 Pickup (+power steering Q)
you can run a ea81 pump with a ea82 rack by having the hose fittings changed. none of the newer racks will be a bolt in swap, but could work if your willing to cut/weld/fab some custom pieces.... the newer racks are wider and tie rod ends different, so you'd need to find/make a combination to work..... do you have a better pic of the 4WD decal on the hood/bonnet?

newbe with 1992 Pickup (+power steering Q)
Ezra, yeah, it's a Brat. It would have just been a MV Pickup on your side of the world. you will need to try and find a PS pump Bracket (and mount bolts), lines, and rack (and possibly the x-member, but I don't think so) from any '80-'84 Soob Wagon, Hatch, Sedan, Coupe, or any Brat/Pickup from '82+ you also will need to get the t-stat cover and possibly the rad hose, as it will be longer to reach past the pump to the t-stat cover. Ideally a 84, maybe 83. the pre-83 ones have the line locations a little different, being older, are harder to get. your engine should already have the PS puimp mount holes tapped Welcome to the board!

Towing 84 GL Wgn
yep. no need to take out the driveshaft with the manual tranny. I've flat towed lots, and learned to always take the widest path around a curve. you may want to make sure your adjustable front suspension is turned down all the way. any positive camber will definitely make your wheels track like that.... I have also tried using some bungee cords to limit the steering wheel movement, with some success, but it hard to find places to hook to

need help with my ac mounting problem....
I thought on ea82,s you needed to turn the weber 180 deg to get it to fit with the other accessories... if you raised the weber up some, would it fit? I had to use 2 .5" spacers to get above the disty with this carb... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley3.jpg
